Front desk lady huffed when I asked for a toothbrush and just overall the staff was NOT friendly. I interacted with a desk person, a night auditor and 2 housekeepers and not even one person could smile back at me when I said hello??? I guess that’s not a requirement but it sure isn’t a warm welcome.
From the outside this appears to be a standard Fairfield Inn - we've stayed in many and know what to expect. The lobby area was nice, but our room was neglected and shabby with crumbs in the drawers, dust bunnies behind the door, and a badly stained shower stall. Most importantly, the smoke detector was missing - the box was there with the wires hanging out in an obvious way. When my wife complained the desk clerk said the smoke detectors were all removed because "they kept going off" but the next morning, the hotel manager said that a previous tenant had apparently removed the detector - no way to know which story is true. A hotel room that is not clean is annoying; a hotel room without a smoke detector is negligent and violates Georgia law. This is the worst Fairfield Inn we've ever stayed in, and not even close to the Marriott standard we have come to depend upon. Apparently I need to start checking TripAdvisor reviews even for Marriotts now.
Checked in ; got key and went to room. Door would NOT open. Green light kept lighting up but door would not open (it was as if it was bolted). Husband had to go to desk and they told him the lock had been installed upside down and we would have to open by pushing th handle up instead of down. OK..... we're in!! Of course the first thing my husband wants is the remote for the TV. Looked everywhere NO REMOTE! So my husband says, call down and ask them where it is. OK........where's the phone????! Yep, you got it, NO PHONE!!!!! Now I've had it😡😤 I go down to the desk and I say, " We need a new room ". (Oh, by the way, we're Marriott Rewards Gold Members) She says What's wrong? I told her we had no phone in our room to which she replied , Yea, Wayne says it's wired for one but he not gonna put one in there cause people steal em! Then I said... well we have no remote for the TV either! As if she already knew this as well, she just said what kinda TV you got . I was getting more agitated by the minute since all I had asked her to do was move us to another room which she totally ignored. I replied, I don't know what kind of TV you have in your rooms. She said, well when you get back to your room look and call me!!!!!! Seriously! There's no phone in the room ! Yes, I have a cell but she doesn't know that! Finally, I said, I requested extra shampoo on my special request form and a shower cap and neither were in the room. This is what she said......,I promise you... "We're out of shampoo!!!" "That's why we didn't leave you any". Marriott out of shampoo!!!!!!!!!!! Next morning when we went to breakfast look what else they were out of....See photos of breakfast buffet below. Out of everything! No milk either only Silk. At least 3 guests that I saw went to the front desk to complain. The desk clerk , Brittany, who was also the one on duty when we checked in , was her usual unconcerned self.
Let m begin by stating I am a travel agent and booked this hotel for both professional and personal reasons. We checked in to our 1st room. When we turned on the ac it sounded as though the unit was about to explode it was so noisy. I told the front desk clerk we needed to move. She moved us to a 2nd room. Room was great EXCEPT the tv had no cable signal! We were then moved to a 3 Rd room and told it was their suite. OMG! There was medical adhesive tape inside the AC controls and numbers or anything to let us know how to turn high or low. There was no wash cloths, no bathroom trash can, no iron nor ironing board, no remote, brown specs in the toilet, to say the least! We decided to make the best of it since it was already so late into the night. At least the sheets appeared Let me say I have stayed at many Fairfield Inn hotels and this location falls far below the level of hospitality I am accustomed to when staying at a Fairfield. At 8am we were awakened by little kids screaming and running up and down the halls. This continued for almost 30 minutes! I called to get an iron and ironing board to be told I could come down to get it! Really?!?! I'm disappointed in this stay to say the least and have great reservation about ever recommending any of my clients to book here. Buyer beware.
Picked this hotel for the location and price. The surrounding area was nice and we had plenty of restaurants to pick from. The hotel was average. Overall pretty comfortable. The pool did not look very clean but hurricane Irma had just gone thru a little over a week before we stayed. I booked this room through Orbitz and paid at the time I booked. We found out while in Florida that the hotel turned around and charged us also. They are supposed to be refunding their charge - we will see.
Basic hotel with clean sheets and towels. Floors were vacuumed, though lifting the bed skirt revealed that the cleaning people are not very thorough. The bathroom shower leaked all over the floor; if you need a tub, be advised that these rooms only have showers with sliding doors. Breakfast was very basic and ended promptly at 9:00. The breakfast attendant started spraying our table with cleaner while we were still sitting there! I guess that was our signal to finish and leave. She never said a word, just started cleaning! We thought that was a little much. We had two rooms. The one on the train side was definitely worse at night. Kids slept through with a noisemaker, but the parent with them woke three different times with the blaring train horn. Pool is outdoor and was not clean. Overall, this was a fine, safe stop for our drive to Orlando. If you are staying longer, look elsewhere.
Booked this hotel about 5 months ago, and boy was we surprised when got there as this hotel is under a remodel. Staff was very friendly but the front desk and lobby is a total mess. Room was fine and breakfast area clean despite the remodel.
Well from the start.. I was charged a incidentals fee of $90 when i was told the fee was $25 so i had not planned on being charged that much more and needed the 90 dollars for food until the next day since i wasnt getting paid til then. ( I like to plan things out) So went to bed hungry since i was charged a different amount at check in. Only to find out that the fee can be changed to whatever they wish.. how did i find this out? well my sister who also stayed here was only charged $5!!!! I was there and as soon as i heard it I brought it up with the staff member. he said at this point all i can do is wait to be reimbursed like a week later! Moving on..The floor was dirty had a stain, and house keeping obviously didnt clean before or after we arrived i stayed for 4 nights and the stain was there each day.. not to mention the shower being dirty ( will post pictures ) The peep hole in the main door was so large that from the outside of the door my husband could see in the room! he even took a picture of me standing in front of the door as proof. Breakfast is posted as being from 6-10 on weekends we were down for breakfast at 6:45 am since we had to get an early start... nope no breakfast was ready on either weekend day no excuse no i am sorry etc. Honestly the only reason we even stayed at this hotel on this date was because we wanted to try to decrease our spending on restaurants since we were kinda tight on money... Needless to say i would rather have spent my money at the other hotel we normally stay at with no breakfast but at least i know what to expect and its much cleaner. I was told they were under renovation however the seconds and third floor had been done and finished... the other hotel guest staying had lots of problems worse then mine, so i guess Lesson learned.
OK-the place is getting a renovation and I get that. We check in and the card won't let us into the room. I go back to the front desk and the SECOND card also wont let us into the room. The desk clerk comes up with me and lets me in with a master key and then proceeds to slam the door shut. Somebody definitely needs a hug or something. Then there is a bathroom fan which runs 24/7 and cant be turned off. Not a very pleasant experience..
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Clean carpets, comfortable beds. The air conditioner WORKED GREAT! which my last 2 hotels could not keep up with the Georgia heat. Refrigerator in room. A couple miles from new mall and new children's entertainment. Can't go wrong!0
