Stayed for 4 nights for Wireless festival. Perfect location, right opposite the gates! Breakfast is not included and you pay each morning. Reasonable selection. Parking is available and its gated and secure. That's where the positives end. Rooms are absolutely horrendous. They are tiny and unclean and desperately need refirbushed. Lots of wierd stairs to get to the rooms and the tiny lift isn't much better. The 'bathroom' was a joke. I've seen bigger wardrobes. If you stood in it with your hands on your hips your elbows would touch each wall. I'm going to wireless again this year and 100% didn't even consider staying here again. Avoid!!
Stayed in room 208 for one night on a Wednesday. Booked over the phone a few weeks before, took my name and number but no card. Check in was quick and I parked the car in the car park for an overnight charge of £10. The room was basic but clean, pretty much what I expected for what I was paying. My only moan would be that the shower was not great, the temperature ranged from cold to scalding with nothing in between. Don’t expect top quality and you won’t be disappointed, I thought I my stay was value for money and would stay again for another boozy night out in the area.
A few years ago, this was a Best Western property. It is now quite easy to see why it is no longer You have to find your room through twisty, windy corridors with cricky floors. There is no elevator. The rooms are quite cramped though the furnishings are good enough. They are skimpy with the soap, etc. I would note that the pictures posted on Trip Advisor do not accurately show the current state of the rooms. The bed was OK, but nothing to write home about. Rather oddly, you are provided with a blanket-like thing sandwiched between a sheet. I had to request a separate sheet as I was too hot with it. The showers are a horror. They are a "rain" type, which is OK. The real bone is the water control. You get steaming hot or ice cold with no in between. I couldn't take a proper shower during my entire stay. The buffet continental breakfast was decent enough. It offers the usual pastries, bread, cereal, etc.. However, it gets nicer with hard boiled eggs, ham, and cheese. No computer is provided for guest use. This is highly unusual in this day and age. In short it is an OK place, but just OK.
This hotel location is very close to train station, which makes very easy for us to travel. Hotel is not somewhere fancy but it does provide what you pay for. We stayed very short in Pembury hotel. Rooms were small but it was clean. If you want to explore London and wont spent lots of time in hotel then this could be a good option for budget hotel. Location is safe and easy to go anywhere.
I stayed here for two nights, was with a group of 5 who came down for the Arsenal game. I didn’t book it but when I heard it was £35 a night In London, I knew it wouldn’t be up to much. When I arrived, I thought the reception area was quite nice, so was optimistic, I found the some of the staff not very welcoming. When I got to my room, it was a box. So small, the bathroom was ridiculously small, you really wouldn’t be able to swing a cat in there. It also had a smell the whole time I was there, which I can only describe as rotten cabbage. My window was open all the time. The window ledges were filthy, they had thick dust on them. With seeing that I wondered if my bed sheets were clean, I slept fully clothed both nights. It was a single bed and the mattress wasn’t comfy at all. Like I said in the title, you get what you pay for. Can’t fault the location though, good if you’re going to the football, 15 minute walk to the Emirates. I just wouldn’t stay here again.
Disaster and disgraceful customer service! Room 1 had overwhelming stench of sewage and in moving to room 2 we were upgraded to black mould in bathroom and associated smell. Resulting nausea, disgust and concern for health. Request for refund denied at front desk as manager had to make decision. Manager not on premises. Apparently only works 9 to 3 and doesn't work weekends. Also doesn't reply to emails or phone calls. Despicable behaviour. Trading standards should get a response I expect! Don't stay if you value your health! If smellovision was possible you would see how bad it is...sewage in bedrooms, black mould and what looked like faecal matter on the bathroom door. Revolting...GOOD ENOUGH FOR SHUTTING DOWN and nothing else.
I was in north London to see United at the Emirates in the Cup. As it was a ridiculous Friday night game I decided to stay over. The Pembury was very close to Finsbury Park station and a 15min walk to the stadium. The hotel reception was friendly and welcoming. There is a nice cafe in the foyer too. My room was clean and of a reasonable size. One criticism: there were no bed side lamps or reading lights. This meant getting out of bed to turn off the main light. There were plugs and tables by the bed so a small lamp would be a good idea
Great location, terrible hotel, rooms poor standard, breakfast is awful, customer service atrocious, parking is a rip off (if you contact the hotel prior to stay it is £5 per night, everyone else £10). 1st room the shower either burnt or freezing cold, hotel maintenance could not fix (but clearly they were aware of the problem), moved to another room, so small, double bed pushed upto wall to squeeze it in mould on the wall behind the bed, moved to a 3rd room where wallpaper peeling off wall needed decorating. I feel the hotel is not looking for any repeat bookings as I don’t think anyone will return after their 1st stay!
Myself and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for a night as my boyfriend had brought me theatre tickets for my Christmas present. We didn’t spend much time at all in the hotel as we were out most of the time and it was fit for purpose! The room was very small but was clean, and that was all that mattered for us. The bed was very squeaky and we could hear everything around us, but that wasn’t really an issue for us. The hotel was in a good position as was only 5 mins from the station and a few nice pubs around (recommend the worlds end pub which is about a 10 minute walk away). We really cannot complain about the room for the cheap price that we paid! Probably would stay here again as good location and value for money! Also the staff seemed nice and were helpful
I was nervous about staying here having read the reviews but it was booked for us so couldn’t change. For us it was a roof over our head for new year but didn’t leave anything valuable in the room. Positives: good location to get into city, staff friendly, onsite secure car park Negatives: room very hot so couldn’t sleep, shower either hot or cold and leaked, traffic noise. Room was adequate and breakfast average Personally wouldn’t recommend unless all you need to somewhere to kip for the night and cheap
