Very clean, small but decent room and bath, pleasant staff, in a good neighborhood. Had lift, restaurant and bar. Close to pubs, bus lines, the tube. Beds were comfortable, bath very modern. A good value for the money.
on Monday we arrived to be told we had to pay again despite work already paying we were the made to wait at reception till 11pm for our rooms to be allocated. We were lucky at first we were all in the main building but witnessed many people being sent out in the rain to other rooms, and coming back as not suitable. When we were allocated rooms we were asked for an additional admin fee of £20 each, we all refused to pay that. We were not made to feel comfortable whilst we waited, even though we found out later there was a lounge available. Rooms EXTREEMLY small all small singles, ok to swing a cat as they say as long as it was a Manx cat. 1 room EXTREEMLY dusty, 1 room had large slog of blood on the wall no attempts at cleaning, 1 had no electric no plug points working, that colleague at midnight was moved out in the rain and across the road to another room but the phone did not work there. He had an unexpected pair of visitors 45 mins later, a member of staff plus lady friend let themselves in to what they expected to be an empty room, I could carry on but they are just not worth it except to mention the filthy look given to my boss when she dared to ask at breakfast for coffee. Customer service -10, rooms -10, friendly greeting -10. Do not bother asking how much as it would not be worth it even if the paid you to stay
Great modern hotel breakfast was great Bed was really comfy Close to Hyde park tubes, cafes and bars Would definitely recommend and stay again Booked with getaroom.com American but about £100 cheaper than U.K. Sites
A really 1st Class Indian afternoon tea. We were a little unsure what to expect, we have had numerous traditional afternoon teas, but chose this because it was different. A great choice it was superb, the staff were lovely and attentive & could not have been more welcoming.
Arrived at hotel at 830pm having left home at 5am to be greeted by a team of staff who had no customer service skills collectively let alone individually. Arrived to be told our account was not paid despite having confirmation it had and providing all confirmation references! Staff refused check in unless I paid for all rooms (4) on arrival. Over an hour later this remained the status quo. Sat in cold and open reception.... very interesting experience however as every person checking in received the same demands for payment all thinking they had already paid. Those not in this category were shown to room after room.... promptly returning to reception like yo yo's to complain. I was with 3 colleagues. Not at any time were we shown any manners, shown to a lounge, offered a warm drink, despite eventually waiting 2.5 hours to be checked in .... finally at 11pm! So tired when we got to rooms..... I didn't realise as I crawled into bed that my room had blood on the walls. Single bed... fine... but basement room no bigger than a shoe box charged at £156! Seriously!!! Another colleague got to room and no working electricity! Eventually moved at 1145pm after having to return to reception twice and being fed a load of lies! On arrival in new room was just settling when a member of hotel staff entered the room unannounced with a woman in tow.... clearly intent on a frisky sexual encounter! Bit of a shock to him and my colleague finding the room not empty!!! Two colleagues did have rooms with no blood and working electric but again rooms tiny and as one sat on the bed the dust in the room filled it! Speaking to the manager this morning he was completely ambivalent! I was not the only one waiting to see him and raise concern either..... there was a queue! Cannot stress enough how poor the staff, rooms and experience at this hotel were! Think twice before even considering staying here. It claims to have 2016 4 stars from AA but my God something has gone seriously wrong since then! Avoid at all costs!
Upon arrival we were told that we were charged for two rooms when we had only booked one room. We had booked accommodation 6 months prior to our stay with booking.com and cancelled our room within 24 hours of the booking due to receiving a voucher from our flight centre to pay for our accommodation in which they had to book the hotel. So the hotel charged us twice.,basically one billing being full price for a cancellation fee. The hotel charged me over 420 pounds for 3 nights accommodation. They would not come to an agreement to credit my funds back to my card. To make it even worse our room was like a dog box, we ordered a double bed which was more like a king single. Since returning home I have sent an email to the reservation manager and I have had no reply."How's that for customer service".
My colleagues and I travelled after a lomg day at work for 3 hours, only to be told we hadn't paid for the room, our company had pre paid, however the hotel had not taken payment. The man on reception was most unhelpful and unsympathetic with a blank uncaring face. It wasn't just our booking that had a problem, everyone that tried to check in was met with an issue about different things. People being directed to other hotels, only to turn back up again. Not anywhere I'd stay ever again. Pompous and ridiculous.
We were celebrating my birthday with a afternoon tea.The food was fusion of Indian and English and of good quality. The service was attentive and were looked after by Claudia.Overall we enjoyed the afternoon and ended with small birthday cake.Recommend this afternoon tea with masala tea.
Stayed for 3 nights with my partner and really enjoyed our time there. Upon arrival, we were early and they put our room in priority and we managed to check in around 12pm, which was highly appreciated. Clean and modern room, with all necessary facilities anyone needs in every day life. Not many cool or unique restaurants and cafes in the area but Paddington is less than 10' tube ride away, so, really, go eat in central. All the staff members were smiling and courteous and helped us during our stay, especially Sebastian. Highly recommend for a small and affordable boutique hotel near central London.
We had booked a Club room and it was very comfortable and clean, albeit rather small. There were a lot of young staff around and although extremely pleasant, they seemed to be a bit clueless. Reception took ages and when there was a problem with our phone, they promised to send someone but then, seemingly, forgot. Still, they were all so nice it was easy to forgive them. They would definitely benefit from some proper training, though, and better management.
