Leisure Inn Hotel2.0 out of 5.0

I booked this hotel as I wanted something central and cheap, as I knew I would only be in the hotel a few hours. The 'Leisure Inn' however was noisy, dirty and the workmen started the noise of drills etc. outside my room quite early in the morning. When I asked if they had wifi I had to buy a £5 card that didn't work, when I asked at reception they told me to wait for the manager and only he knew how to work it. For budget accommodation next time, I would probably travel out of central London if this is what you get!
We had to drop our stuff and go so when we got back to the hotel I checked the mattress and it was so disgusting, it was alll yellowed, had stains, and was torn up and when I told the from guy he refused to call a manager because they don't answer and then he told us after we decided to check out because on top of the mattress all the pillows had stains on them, he wouldn't sleep in them and that we'd have to come back the next day somewhere between nine and ten to catch a manager. So we went and then the front guy told us we'd have to call or come back there around four in the afternoon to get in contact with him. So we did a few things and got lost on the tube,so when we finally got to a distillery to use there phone because our phones don't have any service in England and the told us the manager left at six, what kinda manager gets away with only two hours of work plus I took pics of it because refund or no refund people need to see what kind of sick people there are, also they mentioned when we first got there about owning a restaurant down the way from them but after seeing the rooms that makes me worry!
After staying in many hotels, b&bs and hostels this dump needs to be closed down. Faulty tower Inn! Staff were rude, poor English, no electricity in 1 of our rooms so a friend had to be moved to a different hotel and not as much as a sorry. Smell of gas or sewage around the basement floor was disgusting. Breakfast room had ants everywhere. Was never so happy to check out after 2 nights of torture! Save yourself and stay somewhere else.
We stayed here due to its proximity to Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens as we were attending the BST music festival. It was very handily placed in that respect. It was also handy for the shops, bars and eating places on Queensway where there are also two subway stations On the plus side the staff that I encountered were friendly and helpful where they could be except for when we asked for morning call which never came, fortunately we had woken in time but in pools of perspiration and were wringing our pillows out. After seeing photos on review sites I feared the worst. We had room 204 at the front on the second floor. It had double opening bay windows but you had to stand on the bed and reach over the headboard to open them. The weather was very hot but it was impossible to sleep with windows open due to outside noise, a fan would have helped as there is never going to be air con. Our room was at least cleanish with a decent sized bed and just enough room to swing a cat without bashing its brains in on the walls. The carpet had a few marks but nothing too suspicious. We also had a spiders web on the corner of the front and side walls which was there for the whole of our stay, perhaps it was a permanent resident with immunity from a duster. There was what appeared to be newly tiled bathroom with a good shower, new sink and loo but that had to be sat on sideways due to a large towel rail. There is practically no wardrobe space just a small rail with 3 hangers. There is a kettle and tea and coffee things and a small TV. The breakfast was cereal or toast in an inadequate basement dining room. The self service area was in the worst possible place and needs moving next to the small kitchen. The seating is woefully inadequate when everyone descends on it. I know that these places get a lot of traffic but it needs an urgent overhaul in decorating and re-carpeting in the corridors and please discard the filthy settee in reception. I doubt that I would ever return.
DO NOT stay here!!! I stayed at this hotel as it was in close proximity to Hyde Park for the BST Festival, because I was on a fixed budget of less than a £100 to spend on a Hotel room and this hotel, if you can call it that, was nothing short of a dump!! I had a very small pokey room, of which none of the lights worked, no air conditioning considering it was extremely hot weather, the breakfast was disgusting(there was orange SQUASH instead of JUICE!!) and I almost broke my neck on some steps!! DO NOT STAY HERE!!!
Myself and a friend stayed here to attend a BST Hyde Park event. We had Room 6 and it was very clean and tidy. Carpet looked and felt new. Mattress was super comfortable and even though I have back problems I slept very well. Very pleasant & helpful girl who booked us in. We even got an early check in. Building is stunning from the outside as well. Only downside was the shower riser bar didn't work but we still managed to shower. Would definitely stay here again if in this area.
This hotel is in terrible condition and despite being a budget hotel I think some of the issues that we encountered may have even bordered on health and safety / environmental health issues. We booked a room with 3 singles as we were attending a gig in Hyde Park so did not spend long in the hotel, which to be honest, I'm glad we didn't. Issues we encountered: Cockroach in the bathroom. Everything in the bathroom was supplied with red hot water, I don't even think there was a cold water supply to the room, even the toilet cistern was red hot ! Massive damp patch outside the toilet door that looks like it’s been left neglected for a long time as the door / door frame has started to rot. The room itself was red hot although for a budget hotel I don't expect AC they could have left a fan in the room at least. The hotel is very outdated and felt very dirty, there are marks on every wall on all of the corridors and in the room. Thankfully we only really needed somewhere to get our head down for the night and left promptly the next morning as I didn't fancy breakfast after spending the night with the cockroach. I've attached some pictures of the defects and the cockroach. Hope this helps you make up your mind when booking a budget hotel in London.
It's definitely not an amazing hotel, but considering that this is London and comparing it to other places where I've stayed in this city (this was my sixth hotel here), it's the best one I've found so far. Of course it's expensive for what you get, but again, compared to most other places of this price category I found this hotel a pleasant surprise. My single room was very tiny, but it was done quite smart so the space is used in the best way possible. Thus, I didn't have any space problems during my three nights stay. The bathroom was modern and in fact the best bathroom I've had in London so far with a good shower and modern appliances. It was also very clean. The breakfast was not great, but there are a few choices, and although the room is in the basement, it's very bright and it didn't feel crowded. The location is great, it's just a short walk to Bayswater and Queensway tube stations and just ten minutes to London Paddington, so it's perfect if you need to catch a train from there. Supermarkets, restaurants etc. are just around the corner while the hotel itself is on a very quiet and pretty street with lots of hotels and typical London Victorian buildings. I met several members of staff during my stay and while some were quite friendly, some were a bit arrogant and sitting on a high horse. One thing that really should be changed is that you have to pay extra for wifi, £5 on the first day and then £2,50 on any other days. I think that's quite an outrage as wifi should be included these days. Moreover, while the connection itself was good, it kept logging me out whenever I didn't use it for some time, so I had to type in a long username and PIN number every time, which was a hassle. On top of it, you only purchase the voucher for one device, so you can't use your smartphone plus an iPad or laptop unless you pay £10 - unbelievable. All in all, I recommend staying here if you want a decent but not luxurious place in a good location without paying a fortune.
This hotel is in poor condition. The front desk attendance (a young man with a Dutch? accent) was less than helpful on any occasion that required him to get out of his chair. The hotel cannot afford to keep its lobby running. There is a computer for guest use but they turn it off and complain if you wish to use it. There is a vending machine that they find bothersome to plug in as well. I asked very simply for a taxi for my family, and the young man called the most expensive limousine service in town. He was purposely unhelpful, impolite, and cold. We stayed one night and found another hotel where guests are treated as guests and staff were friendly. I would never stay here again if my life depended on it.
We stayed in a quadruple room , we were four girls, but the room was big enough to fit all of our luggage. The bed were comfortable too. 5 minutes from the tube and in a really quiet neighborhood. All in all a great experience
