Good location - close to Excel, DLR, cable car, City airport. Otherwise not much to see around that neighborhood. There are couple of restaurants and bars close by, the one in the hotel itself is quite unimpressive. Same can be said about the breakfast, and though the quality of food was good, the selection was limited. Tip: Ask for a Room with the docks view (photo attached). Staff was friendly, but apart from the usual pleasantries not too helpful. A “late” 1pm checkout on Sunday was not possible as apparently the hotel was too busy. Really? Busy on Sunday? Anyway... good overall, but nothing to write home about.
Hotel staff very friendly. Room was spacious with 2 double beds. Service in the bar was a little slow. This is a great location if you are going to the O2 with the amazing cable car to take you over just across the road.
Comfortable hotel in a very convenient area within easy distance to central London. From Royal Victoria dock to Tower gateway on DLR. From Tower Hill, take district and circle line. Tower Hill is a step-free station, suitable for pushchairs and wheelchair. Lovely staff from reception to restaurant. Excellent breakfast and really friendly staff at restaurant. Special mention and thanks to Samantha, Laura and Helkin. Made use of the spa facilities but thought they could be improved by providing shampoo, conditioner and body lotion clearly marked in the changing rooms. Very comfortable beds and room was made up daily. They provide bathrobes and slippers on request. I would reccomend it.
I went there with my Mum and the pool was at very reasonable temperature. The spa’s facilities were amazing. They have sauna and steam rooms. After that you can go have some food in the bar and restaurant they have inside and out seatings. The service is very good I highly recommend.
Stayed here - good Location for City Airport and easy walk from Docklands railway. Great staff and a well equipped room which was comfortable and quiet. Restaurant Food was pretty good but meal disturbed by noisy guests at bar with lot of bad language. Would stay again
I've stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions when attending exhibition shows at London Excel. The location is convenient for Excel and there's usually enough parking behind the hotel if you bring your own car. Generally, the hotel is well run, polite staff, very clean rooms etc. The food however, could be better and falls short of what you would expect from a hotel of this standard. Having said that, the breakfast buffet's good and there's a wide choice of food for all tastes. The evening restaurant food isn't good however or the bar food and I found myself going out to other nearby restaurants to eat each evening. Luckily, there are several good restaurants within a 10 minute walk and as long as it's not pouring down with rain, it's easy enough to go out.
We stayed for one night in a family room. Check in was quick and staff were friendly. Our room was a decent size and clean. The only problem we found was that the window was quite draughty and the noise from the car park and the airport was quite loud. The thick curtains stopped most of the draught and I am a light sleeper at the best of times but the others slept well once they nodded off. Breakfast was varied and vast, something for everyone. Am sure we will return on future visits to the city.
Used this hotel as a base for visiting London over Easter weekend. Very easy to get to from DLR station and only 30 minutes by tube to the West End. Nice to get back to a peaceful area after all the crowds. Executive King room on the 6th floor gave us enough space. Worth asking for a view of the docks; much better than the car park view! The double beds are really just large singles. Lots of restaurant choices near the hotel; Chinese, Indian, Thai, Spanish. Breakfast buffet was good, lots of choice. The only problem was the brown sauce they provide. It tasted nothing like brown sauce should, but like tomato sauce instead. Very surreal!
Very friendly, accommodating staff on reception, went above and behond to make sure we enjoyed our stay. Room was as shown online, great view and comfy bed. Breakfast was lovely too would definitely recommend.
We booked a room with two double beds as a family of four. This meant the kids didn’t have to sleep on put up beds as is usual in with family rooms. Nice, clean comfy room. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Pool nice and warm with clean changing rooms. Parking says plenty but can be tight. Good acces to 02 and DLR to get into central London. Also good breakfast. ... overall would definitely recommend and we will use it again.
