This hotel smelled of mold. Mattress was old and lumpy. Room was dirty. Breakfast was lacking: warm yogurt, dry bread, watery-juice. Located in area that was sketchy- people going through trash on sidewalks, loud traffic noise, people yelling all night, etc. It is very close to Kings Cross, but you can find better hotel in area rather then staying here.
Horrible stay. One of the rooms I booked was infested with bedbugs, had strong scent of paint fumes and didn’t even have a telephone. We brought this to the attention of management and they had the nerve to tell us that we had to pay a surcharge if we wanted an upgrade since they ran out regular rooms. Long story short, the room got upgraded to a suite (free of charge, after we demanded to see the manager) which was cleaner and more comfortable than the basic room we booked. The only expectation I have for any hotel is cleanliness and comfort- which the first room lacked. I would not recommend this hotel to future travelers.
Good place in London and close to train stations. Would have been nice, if rooms were a little more bigger.
Clean, small hotel very close to Kings Cross/St Pancras station
This hotel is very close to kings cross and st pancreas would recoommend for people who need access to transit
Rooms are old and dirty and has a bad smell. Location was nice
Great location for access to transportation. Room clean and adequate but small. Air conditioning did not work.
The rooms are very small but the beds are decently comfortable. The shower has good pressure. The hallways are a bit loud in the am with the many hallway doors slamming shut that I suppose are there to keep the noise level down...and they do as it was pretty quiet in the room. Breakfast? Well, the best past was the OJ so I only ate it once.
clean hotel on quiet street very near the station. 200 meters to Kings cross. Very polite and efficient staff. Clean and the right side of £100 . Great breakfast too
The breakfast choice is too limited. Although the wi-fi is free, you have to ask for user name/password from the staff every 24 hours. More bizarrely, one staff told me it's not free and asked me which country I came from. I told her I was from country A, and she said no, you wouldn't get free wi-fi, without explaining anything. I had to ask why. Apparently, free wifi is only for loyalty program members, and the program is not available in country A. Then I told her I only stay in country A temporarily but I actually is a permanent resident of country B (which is true). She gave me a enrolment form. I never bothered because the next day, it's another staff and he let me use it for free. The only good thing is it is 5-min walk from my office and from Kings Cross underground.
This was literally the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The only positive was the location relative to the train station. Here is what I experienced: (1) The lights in my room did not work. I only had a small desk lamp to light the whole room and the bathroom. (2) The heating/AC could not be controlled in the room, and it was hot. I wanted to open the window, but with no screen and a ledge outside my window, I was worried about my security. (3) Wifi was available free only for choice rewards members. And even then, it only works on one device. (4) And what really pushed this experience into the realm of terrible service and a waste of money was the shower. I stayed at this hotel because it was close to the train station and I was catching a train at 5:40 am. When I got up, the water would not turn on in the shower. I called the front desk and he told me the showers are not functional until 5:30 am and there was nothing he could do. I was furious. I could not shower in the morning, and was never told of this limitation. I had even mentioned upon check-in that I was leaving early (and thus not partaking in breakfast), and the attendant didn't bother to mention the shower limitation. So, I essentially paid a pretty high rate, expecting a nice Comfort Inn experience, for a twin bed in a room with no lights, no AC, and no shower. A complete waste of money. I would never stay here again and will think twice about staying at a choice hotel again, at least outside of the US.
The hotel was situated in a great location, just across the street from Kings Cross and St. Pancreas. The room was a bit small and close quarters which was not a huge deal it was however very clean.
