This hotel is close to where our son lives, so we were pleased to stay there while visiting the new baby in the family. We had room 16, on the top floor and at the back as I had asked for, shared shower/toilet right next door didn't bother us, mostly pretty quiet, just some noise on the Saturday night, mostly loud voices of people leaving other establishments. Very good breakfast and helpful staff. Instructions for the TV would have been useful, but we did it in the end! We'll certainly go back.

An average hotel. Clean rooms. Comfortable bed. Small but decent bathroom. Good bus links into city centre. Not an awful lot of choice at breakfast time but what was there was pleasant enough. Front door is locked but on occasion, if reception staff are busy, you will be left waiting to be let in which given the hotel is on a busy main road, is a little frustrating. At times the reception staff were a little rude and not as friendly as one would expect from a hotel, however, it was noted that they were so incredibly busy. Would probably stay again if I got a good deal.

Used this as I was not familiar with area and had a few appointments, arrived by taxi, but is a good 25min walk to oval tube. quirky hotel, clean comfortable. I was in room 23, quite alot of stairs. Situated on main road so lots of amenities, busy road but noise not overwhelming. Staff friendly, good price. continental breakfast great choice. Would stay again if in area.

Needed to be local to Kings College hospital due to an emergency otherwise wouldn’t have stayed as long as I did. Reception staff less than helpful...( stock answer always seemed to be “my manager say”) Up about 40 rickety stairs ( no help with suitcase) to a small bedroom. For eclectic read tacky. The claustrophobic bathroom had the small shower I’ve come across ...complete with dirty shower head..yuk!

Our daughter booked us in here as it was close to her flat. We were pleasantly surprised as to the warm welcome by the staff and the quality of the establishment. A good sized room with ensuite, comfortable bed and little tokens of chocolate and a small jar of home maid spice. The breakfast area was beautifully set up and the continental breakfast excellent. All in all highly recommended.

My wife and I were settling my daughter into University accommodation at Champion Hill and needed somewhere close. This hotel was the only one scoring anything near what we needed in TA. It's a quirky place and no mistake. Reception is like walking into a Mexican palm reader's booth, with colourful skulls and trinkets everywhere. To access our room on the 1st floor needed a sat nav. Staircases everywhere and easy to get lost in the warren of corridors. Having navigated it a few times, it was easy enough! An honesty bar is in place, but drinks are quite expensive. There is also a DVD library with an extensive list which you can select from and take back to your room. The rooms are unique. Each one is decorated differently and has its own character. I loved the feel of it. I was in Mexico City! My wife wasn't so keen, pointing out skulls in alcoves high on the wall which were looking at her. Bathroom was a good size with 'artistic' tiling. Breakfast was served on the ground floor and had a very organic feel to it. Not much choice but quality was good. Parking in Camberwell is free on the side roads over the weekend so a definite plus for drivers. On the down side, our room had a window over the main street. Not sure what they do in Camberwell between 2am and 5 am but they certainly keep the emergency services busy.

At last, a hotel in London that doesn't cost the Earth and isn't designed by a computer. This place has a homely and friendly feel with a big smile on reception, quirky art on the walls, free tea/coffee/newspapers in the lounge, an honesty bar and the quirky additions of handmade chocolate and chilli sauce in the bedrooms. It's not palatial and in places could do with a little attention, but it's cute, it's a good price and in a world of corporate hotels, it's refreshingly honest.

Stayed for one night, close to a kings college hospital. Quirky hotel, very clean. Honesty bar with complementary tea & coffee was great! Breakfast was great value. I would definitely stay again if in the area. Buses to central London are convenient.

Modest but comfortable room. We had two beds for three people. Beautiful bathroom with shower. Quirky layout with honor bar and tables for mingling with other guests. Nice continental breakfast. Situated near a variety of many affordable restaurants and local pubs. The pizza joint across the street was amazing! 15 minute bus ride to River Thames and easy access to all major tourist attractions. The young staff was international and very friendly.

lovely place with lovely staff, a bit alternative in nice ways, old building so rooms are smallish but that's true all over London, so glad i've found this place as it will be my new go-to for overnight stays. It is also in "proper" London with some great places to eat and drink around and a bit of life going on...and a little bottle of hot sauce and a posh chocolate left for every guest in the room!
