A very nice property with a warm, friendly staff. They were very accommodating and as a spire IHG member allowed us a late checkout. A very nice social hour and taco buffet as well. I recommend to anyone, business or leisure travel!
From other reviews and photos of this hotel, maybe my expectations were a bit too high. It's acceptable - a roof over your head, nothing extraordinary or special. I must say all the staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room though was much more dated that I thought it was going to be. The bed was comfortable but the furniture and kitchenette cabinets were all very banged up. Also, if you want your room made up on the weekends you have to request it ahead of time; there is no regularly scheduled housekeeping on weekends. The breakfast spread is ok if you're just looking for a little something to get in your belly to start the day. Oh and our room faced a Mercedes Benz dealership whose lights were blaring all night long. Good thing the hotel has black out shades. Also, the walls are a bit thin in between rooms, we could hear our neighbors talking and I'm sure they could hear us, too!
I stayed in a King bed room here and the service and cleanliness of the staff and room was amazing!!! Every morning I went down for breakfast and they always had plenty for everyone! They also had something for everyone! The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only thing it was lacking in my opinion was weights in the workout room.
Needless to say, I stay here for a reason, the rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. I like the location. Several restaurants nearby and more are being built. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you ever have a problem, get with Joe, he will fix it! If you accumulating points, get on top of the staff, they cannot figure that one out! I constantly have to stay on top of that one! Make sure your points are credited before you leave! The breakfast needs help! Go across the parking lot and get some awesome fresh breakfast tacos! Totally worth it! There is free soda and coffee and a waffle machine(never used it) I do drink the coffee and soda! Never used the pool or hot tub or grills (seen them all used) They take pets, but for a price!
When we checked in, I asked about the Texas size hot tub as advertised on the website and was told that it was out of service and that no one knew when it would be fixed including the assistant manager. We were told that we should use the pool although it was not heated and that the air temperature would warm it up. We tried going for a swim but the temperature was much like Lake Superior. We decided to give it another try but the water filling up the pool was actually colder than the already cool pool. This was very disappointing since we were staying at the Staybridge for 4 days. As other people have mentioned, the staff are very friendly and resolved any problems we had except for the pool and hot tub situation. Breakfast was very good and we really enjoyed the meals and drinks which were served during the social hour. Our room was very nice.
Staff were friendly and helpful . Great location for visits to the uni at TAMIU. Room very clean but dated. Parking free and plenty of it . Gym very limited . The breakfast was not great ., plastic plates and quality of food not good ! Would recommend this hotel if you have children at the uni only 5 mins drive away .
Check-in was friendly and efficient, the property was literally deserted on this mid-November Saturday night. Although I made 10 or 12 trips to the ground floor (laundry, front desk, business center) I didn't meet a single guest throughout the evening. This was of course very nice as it was very quiet during the night. The suite (an extended two queen studio) was clean, but of a different layout and design from the one I am used to at Staybridge properties. There was no kitchen or eating table, just an office table with only one office chair, which were located in the kitchen part of the suite. The suite did not feature a full-sized fridge, but only a mini fridge, typical of regular rooms. Above all the fridge was turned off and it had obviously defrosted, so all the shelves were completely filled with water. Arriving with some frozen items and some that needed to be kept cool, this was terrible. Then I went to use the laundry, which featured only one (1!) working washing machine, the other one with the "out of order" sign. Even the working one was decades old, very dated and not very efficient. It need almost two hours for a wash load. Luckily, I was obviously the only one requiring this service. Went to use the business center to print our some vouchers and tickets. The computers were outdated, extremely slow and unreliable. The breakfast on a Sunday morning was suppose to start at 7:30 (which is far too late for me in the first place), but was not actually ready until 7:45, which was another huge disappointment. The orange juice dispenser had "out of order" sign over it. It seemed as if not much attention is paid to the property and when things go out of order, they get the "out of order" sign and stay out of order. All in all, a sub-standard experience at this Staybridge property.
The dinner was great-fresh salad with cucumber and tomato with meatball sliders included with your stay. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful with info about the area and where to go. Very spacious room, but you can see signs of it running down. Only 4 tiny pillows on the king bed--not enough, nor big enough. It is pet friendly, but for $75. Way too high! The elevators were very noisy and sounded rickety. I would stay here again, it was clean.
The room was very spacious and had two queen beds and a separate dining area with tv. We bought some snacks and put them in the fridge and also had a microwave to use. The kitchen was stocked with dishes and cutlery so it was like a studio apt. It is right next to McDonlads so if you miss the free breakfast you can just walk over and grab a bite to eat. The beds were comfortable and clean. The shower was nice and hot. The negatives were that there was what looked like toothpaste on the wall in the dining area that should have been cleaned before we were given the room, our door needed to be re-programmed twice because it wouldn't let us in, and there were ants in our trash can. The positive was that although we dis experience those issues the staff was very attentive and took care of the problem right away. Make sure you ask for an upstairs room because we were downstairs and woke up to the sound of running feet back and forth.
Very clean! Friendly staff. Nice, large rooms. Many options for breakfast. Would love to stay again. Pool is small but nice. Very good location. Close to Uni-Trade stadium. Many attractions nearby. Movie theater, restaurants.. Convenience store in the parking lot for ice cream runs. Very nice overall.
