The 1 stars aren't accurate because we weren't even able to stay. They canceled our room without warning or offering other room options or compensation or help finding room elsewhere, the day before check in. Might not have been that bad, but was a busy event weekend in the area, so we were forced to stay far away and drive. They said it was due to construction that our room wasn't ready. I didn't know they 'built to order'.
Next to major highway very noisy. Employees very friendly
The Executive Suite was paid in full at time of reservation, with mountain view selected. Upon arrival, i was given a suite facing highway traffic. Front opted to change, but the second room did not showcase the mountain and downgraded my room, still at executive suite price.
My company had an emergency and needed to shorten the days reserved at the Holiday Inn. Originally it was for two weeks. I explained the reason why I needed to check out but the hotel Manager would not reimburse my company the remaining days left on the reservation. So the manager showed no empathy and basically could care less. My company has a major project going on in that area and we have many employees that will need rooms for the next six months. WE WILL NOT BE giving our business to Holiday Inn Kings Mountain!

Staff were so nice. Everyone said hello and asked us lots of questions about how they could help. Rooms were clean and well stocked with towels. Water pressure in shower was great. There was so much to choose from with the breakfast. Loved that it lasted until noon.
Grate hotel to spend weekend when you need to take brake. Rooms are big and clean, stuff is very friendly and helpful, but there is nothing around.
This was a quick stay for a business trip. Arrived at 9:00 pm and out early for a meeting, but staff was great and room was very clean and comfortable.
Everything was pretty good. My room was by the highway so that was annoying but the breakfast was great.

The room was very clean, and spacious for what we needed..but it was extremely cold! It was below 60 when we arrived. Could have been worse, but it could have been better.
Enjoyed out stay. Nice breakfast. Rooms were nice and neat. Quiet location and very pleasant staff on check in and check out.

Easily the friendliest, most genuine staff I've ever encountered on a hotel stay. That was the icing on the cake of a clean and comfortable room (with a great mattress!).

I apologize for the inconvenience. We notified Expedia as soon as we had to close the hotel so they could notify their bookings. If we had a phone number or email we tried to reach the guest as well. Unfortunately, we cannot control when we have a major problem that could impact the safety and well being of guests and employees. We had to close the hotel to repair the problem and it has been quite a process. Again, I apologize for the inconvenience.
