Very well managed property. Breakfast each day was delicious with a good assortment of items to choose from. We stayed in a room in the building facing the parking lot which was spacious but older for an excellent price. There are other rooms facing the ocean in another building which cost more but have a better view.

The location and facilities were excellent. The room was clean and absolutely

This is absolutely the most NOISY hotel I have stayed in. The constant door slamming makes it IMPOSSIBLE to sleep in. The cleaning staff just lets doors slam over and over and over and over. You can hear conversations through the walls... even when other guests arent being loud. The front desk staff is fine. No issues there. But the housekeeping staff clearly does not give one flying eff about how noisy they are. And Im not being a Karen either. The noise starts at 8am and doesnt stop until almost 4pm. Constant.. BAMM-BAMBAM... types of noises. Shoot... you can hear people lug things in and unplug them through the walls. Its TRULY that bad! It's so disappointing because it was such a pretty property.

Shutters on the banks is a great place to stay. Room was clean, breakfast was good and the ocean view room was awesome! Indoor pool was also a great addition!

Had a great view from the rooms overlooking the beach and the beds were incredibly comfortable!

I read some of the reviews and was kind of hesitant on staying here. But I’m so glad I didn’t listen! This honestly was the best decision I’ve made, even with COVID breaking out again. Everyone wore masks, hand sanitizer was available throughout the lobby, and everyone stayed six feet or more away. The rooms were clean and ready for us to move in for the week! Restaurants were in walking distance, the beach access was easily accessible and there were multiple grocery stores nearby. Totally would recommend.

Property was well maintained, and kept very clean.

The room was beautiful and the view was amazing. The staff was very friendly.

It was very close to the beach, but otherwise we did not enjoy our stay. We were on the first floor and there were very loud thuds and pounding sounds from the room above making it impossible to get a good night’s sleep. We were wondering what the upstairs neighbors were doing to cause it (it sounded like people were repeatedly jumping off the bed) and one day we realized it even sounded like that from housekeeping cleaning the room. If you have several kids next door, which we also did, or neighbors that stay up late (we did), you can also forget about sleeping. There were numerous huge roaches on the property. Saw them at the outdoor pool and gazebo and in walkways. One even ran into our room one night when we opened the door for a moment. The room was humid and nothing ever dried. The first floor rooms have no railing or outdoor space to hang towels. The housekeeping staff for the most part did not wear masks. One even yelled to someone right in front of my face with no mask on as she was passing me. We stayed for a week and declined service because of COVID concerns. It would have been nice if they checked in midweek to see if we needed anything given what we were paying. Parking was ample and easy and there were several options for breakfast, though the eggs didn’t taste very good. If you are in decent shape you’ll have no problem with beach access.

You can't beat the location - it's right on the water with easy beach access and surrounded by restaurants and shops. The staff were very friendly. The room was cute and pretty spacious except for the bathroom which was a very tight squeeze. Of course it's not the Four Seasons.. the plugs in the sink and tub didn't work great, the pull out sofa's mattress was badly stained and the bathroom.

Our room was very up to date and clean. Extra touches like lovely pictures, trim moldings, coffered ceiling, and tile work in the shower made it feel much classier than a regular hotel room. Would definitely recommend.

Loved the hotel, pool, oceanfront view, staff and beach access!

We had a ocean view room. 2 queen beds. The view & patio was awesome. The shower was very nice. The bed mattress are getting ruts in them. I was ok sleeping alone in the middle. If 2 people were in the same queen Bed your back would be hurting. We really enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again.

Nice, central location for an off season weekend. Front desk lady was very friendly and let us check in early.

I was here for 5 nights. I chose this hotel because I had stayed the year before. It was great. This time not so much at all. The housekeeping was terrible. They didn’t change my sheets the whole time I was there. They swept the sand off the floor once. My room door wasn’t locking so the doors had to be slammed 2-3x. The had someone look at it and it still wasn’t locking right away. So while I was gone housekeeping came and my door was unlocked the entire day. When I told the front desk all they had to say about it was housekeeping didn’t know. Okay! They should have switched my room to one that locked. Maybe a discount anything? They offered nothing.Besides that I can say they have a nice breakfast every morning.

We stayed 2 nights at Shutters on the Banks. The place was immaculately clean, breakfast was stocked and hot, and 24 hr coffee and cocoa in the lobby. Breakfast ends at 10, which is nice for late sleepers, because many end at 9. Also, checkout time was 11, and the indoor pool closes at 10. Nice new pool and hot tub, but the temperature of the pool was too cold to be comfortable. Staff was super friendly, and most importantly, I felt safe. We were on the ground level of the main building, and early both mornings, the 2 hr elephant stampede from the room above woke me up, and kept me up since I could hear every step the family was making. We could hear the TV from the room beside us. The walls are definitely too thin. Ours beds were horribly uncomfortable. The mattresses were toooooo soft. I could hardly sit on the side of the bed to put my shoes on because I'd sink down and slide off. Sleeping was tough because the mattress would sink down into a hole that I had to literally crawl out of. Temperature of the room was great. Shower was hot and plenty of water pressure. Yummy in-room coffee and toiletries provided. There is a lovely gazebo on the dune overlooking the ocean that is a super short 30 second walk up the path, if even that long. GREAT lighting out at night that runs on sensors, so they aren't always burning and blinding you, but if someone is walking up the path to go to the beach, they will illuminate your way, then turn off a few minutes later un
