Friendly, helpful staff; clean and freshly decorated, great beach access.

This resort made our family mini-vacation easy and effortless. The staff was kind and accommodating, amenities were impressive, and dining options were superb. The impression that the online photos and descriptions left were verified in reality. Great location! The food was a little on the expensive side, it would be nice to see some more reasonable options - but the quality was more than sufficient. Breakfast was impressive and the views were breathtaking. The landscaping at this hotel deserves an award! The beach is beautiful and waves were perfect- It was not too busy and very clean. The rooms were comfortable and well-decorated, as well as quiet! We had guests on both sides of us and never heard a sound. As other reviews stated, the showers themselves could use renovation but this was a small issue that was easily forgettable. Overall, is definitely recommend this hotel to families and couples looking for an enjoyable experience in Wrightsville Beach!

Staff was exceptional. Food was very good. Location phenomenal. Room itself was disappointing. Bed was not comfortable definitely needed updating. However with that view of the ocean we would stay there again.

Nice hotel. Great breakfast. Enjoyed a walk on the beach and sunset over the Intercoastal Waterway.

Beautiful room, with spectacular ocean view. The beach was beautiful, as was the landscaping. The grounds are very large and beautifully manicured with interesting flowering plants, water fall, and a butterfly garden. So peaceful to look at while having breakfast . The fitness room, which included a sauna, was good, clean and had enough equipment for a good work out, The breakfast was satisfying, and the dining room had a wall of glass looking at the landscaping and butterfly garden. There is also a complimentary airport shuttle. The only negative was the weak internet. It would fade in and out of service. But am told they are upgrading that. All and all, a great place to stay any time of year.

Staff friendly and helpful. The location ecellent. The views were spectacular. The only downside was the bed. VERY uncomfortable, but most likely won't keep me from coming back.

We are so happy that we chose this hotel. It was an unexpected delight. Even though it's a bit old, everything was clean and the staff were all very friendly and helpful. Always a pleasant hello and smile. We had an oceanfront room--what a view!!! Would recommend it to everyone.

Beautiful room with great view. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Marvelous grounds with lots of butterflies!

Our room was ocean-front which made the relaxation never end. We went in October which is the beach "off-season" so we received all the best treatment from hotel staff and were amazed at their kind and helpful spirits. The hotel itself was so pretty and has a boutique feel. We cannot wait to go back sometime and I hope everyone has the chance to stay here.

We spent two nights here to celebrate a 77th birthday. Staff was friendly and welcoming. The Wednesday night managers welcome party included a live performer and complimentary beer or wine. We are delicious free breakfast buffet each morning sitting outside in beautiful gardens.

Nice hotel and pretty room but they need to upgrade the bathroom. Everything else in the room was modern, clean and beautiful with a great view but the bathroom was old and definitely needs an upgrade. The bathroom door was spotted because of moisture and wetness and the shower needs some help. The toilet had an old fashioned flush handle like the ones in the stalls. Overall the hotel was excellent with a lot going on and beautiful, really enjoyed our stay.

Lovely vacation or event venue. The grounds are beautiful, and the beach is always inviting. Only complaint is you have to rent beach chairs and umbrellas daily, which really should be included in a not inexpensive room rate.

Great location, fair price. Chill staff. Fine decor. All around - awesome.

Nice hotel right on the beach. Walking distance to a handful of eateries, but the onsite restaurant was good too. Our room faced the inner waterway...watched a nice sunset.

This hotel wins the prize for the ugliest furnishings ever. No staff to be seen , no service to be had, tables at bar outside falling apart with exposed nails. Pool and jacuzzi area falling apart. Can't comment on service because there was none. Check out time at 11am, I asked for a 1pm check out and was told to pay $45. This place needs to get a clue. The beach is great but you will drag your own lounge through the sand! Too bad could be a great place.

This was a really nice place to spend a few days. It was a little pricey, but the room had a great view and the staff was super friendly. The breakfast buffet was one of the best I've ever eaten! It's in a great location. I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a slight splurge to have a very comfortable couple of days' vacation.

We went after the Memorial Day rush so things were pretty calm. My husband and I enjoyed to amenities like free breakfast Buffett, manager reception and sound side cruise. The location couldnt be better. Just walk down the lawn to get to the ocean. We had a sound side room because of the better value and it was great to with the boats on the sound. Bonus , you can slide open the windows, even if you don't have a balcony! Only a couple downsides- staff was really young and lacked the more poslished service that you find at chains like Hilton, etc. the pool/sauna area was outdated and did not fit the rest of the hotel ambience. Also they were doing lots of landscaping and maintenance on the lawn and boardwalk to the beach so we spent a lot of time dodging work crews. P.s. It was my birthday and after telling the front desk they offered nothing but a half hearted "happy birthday". Other hotels would offer up grades, perks at the restaurant or at least a couple of chocolates from room service. Was pretty disappointed about that..

The BR is an old hotel, but it still has a classic air of days gone by as the stately matron of the beach at Wrightsville. Not a lot of glitz, but the staff are lovely, and the accommodations satisfactory. I was surprised at the lack of carpet in the bedroom and the noise between rooms (a toddler who liked to whine was next to me). My room was very cold, too, however in all fairness, it was 25 degrees outdoors with a hefty wind. The breakfast is complimentary, and let me quickly state it is wonderful, simply wonderful. "Complimentary" usually mean a small, dry sweet roll and juice or coffee. This breakfast is the opposite and impressive. There are no poor views at BR, and there is outdoor dining for dinner on a lovely tented patio. I'll be returning without a doubt.
