Received an email to do a virtual check-in. In the email from Harrah's I was shown as being booked in a smoking room, despite having booked non-smoking through Expedia. I called Harrah's who told me I'd have to visit the desk upon arrival to get it sorted out. Turns out, Expedia books you in the cheapest room available (smoking) even if you are booking non-smoking. No fault of Harrah's. On to the actual resort. Clean. Friendly staff. Rooms were redone and updated. Bathroom was huge with wonderful dual shower heads, found it odd there is no hand soap provided at sink & you must enter shower for body wash to wash hands. Stayed in Cherokee tower for convention I was attending. Plenty of on site dining options, found Brio to be difficult to get into despite having reservations (no wonder they are the last one left in NC). Ate at Ruth's Chris twice, wonderful as always. Casino staff very helpful.

Enjoyed the stay, staff was friendly. But they did not do any housekeeping for four days, which was an inconvenience. I had to get instant coffee, and we had to get our own cups. Chased down a room service person for extra towels. The room was generally clean, but there was soom deep cleaning to the bathroom that needed to be done. There was long black hair in the foor and bath tub when we arrived. My wife cleaned it up and she was not happy about that.

Accidentally booked a smoking room..didn’t think that was a thing anymore. Girl at the front tried to move us but it was not possible. Room smelled terrible :(. Outdated. Only 3 pillows per bed and there was no comforter? Only an additional sheet on top of the flat sheet. Very strange. Paid more to stay at the casino to treat my family, but will never do that again. The hotel is very confusing to navigate. Gotta go up to go down to go up again to get to the elevators to our tower..hard to find the concert. When asking staff, they just point. I worked in Hilton Hotels for 10+ years and definitely this was a downgrade.
