terrible with no unkeep inside or outside. glad i had suv as parking lot had holes that would damage cars. inside was smelly and gross. no upkeep and even had bugs we had to take care of before sleeping.

Really poor quality for the amount of money. Telephone won’t work, staff held on to the TV’s remote and the Cable’s remote won’t not change the input. Housekeeping didn’t change the sheets nor towels even though I was gone all day. Smells like weed everywhere even though I was at the non-smoking section. Stay away from this hotel. I’d ask for a refund but I KNOW I won’t be getting it

Missed motor court layout .too far to carry luggage.

wood floors transmit sound. not too much of a problem. just can hear too much.

The place had an odor and not too clean. Parking lot looked like a junk yard.

Old antiquated hotel. Bed is not comfortable, but when you are paying less than half the price of other hotels, it made the price more tolerable. Overall I would recommend the hotel to others and it was better than I thought based on the other reviews. I was looking for a cheap place to stay with a bed and that is what I got. Just wish the bed was more comfortable.

Was happy with staff. The room was quite large. Only thing i was not happy with was no coffee pot in room amd no hair dryer.

Close to freeway, plenty of parking and clean comfortable room.

Hotel was filthy. Staff was rude. Parking lot was full of huge potholes. Heated pool was freezing cold. Breakfast was terrible.

As a woman traveling alone...didn't feel safe. I stood and waited to check in while the clerk cussed and grunted at a problem she was trying to solve. I totally understand being frustrated but look up and ask the customer to please wait. The parking lot was DARK, the hallway to the room was dark and looked dirty. There was a hunk of some kind of food stuck to the top of the clock radio....the bed was comfortable.

The location and the price were what I needed for a simple place to stay during my high school reunion. It was comfortable, and even had some trees and birds to look at from the window.

The staff was courteous and helpful. The front desk person took time to assist me with my iPhone. However, the facility was dirty with stains in the carpet. It had strong unpleasants oders in the corridors and dark/dim corridors and rooms. I could not have stayed there with my wife but survived since I was alone.

We expected a dated place for the low price we were paying. The rooms were clean enough but the hallways smelled badly of stale cigarette smoke and there were so many cobwebs in the less used areas. The breakfast area was clean. We just got a bad vibe as there were men sitting in a truck offering assistance. These men sat in the parking lot for hours both nights we stayed. There were knocks on doors in the middle of the night and we slept with everything locked up tight as a drum and with a chair in front of the door. We expressed our concerns to a friend in law enforcement who looked up information and discovered that people released from prison stay there until they can find something more permanent. I don't have a problem helping out someone down on their luck but I have a huge problem with the number of rapists & child molesters who were also residing here. Granted not everyone is a repeat offender but shouldn't I have had the choice as to whether or not I wanted to risk it. I unknowingly put my family at risk. I paid and chose to stay here knowing that it might be dumpy but I also thought my family would be safe. I am furious that they accept families with this type of offender.

It is OK but need more breakfast , I think this hotel just for one day.

The front door has a sign stating that the hotel is compliant with the Michigan State law requiring all hotels to be completely smoke free, but when you open the front door the smell of stale smoke hits you in the face. No extra towels were available, and they didn't have the roll-away bed I requested when I reserved the room, so the fifth person in our group that was registered to stay there would have had to sleep on the floor had we not been able to borrow a cot. Some of the wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling off, there were a couple of tiles missing there as well, and the light above the sink didn't work properly. Breakfast was also a disappointment, with the selection being much narrower than at other hotels of the same rating and cost where I have spent the night. On the bright side, it was right next to the highway, which made for a quick escape.

Booked this hotel just hours before arriving in GR. Cant beat the price. Late night taxi to get back here from downtown ran us about $22, but this place is right next to a Plainfield bus route stop that will only run you $1.50 to get back downtown. Not terrible!

I signed up for the Knights Inn despite the scary reviews because the price was amazing. I was attending a conference downtown at the DeVos Center, but the room prices at the Amway Grande seemed a bit excessive. The room and bathroom were very clean as were the sheets and bedding. New firm mattress on the bed. The room is much larger than many modern hotels and there was a very nice desk to work at and free WiFi. The carpeting throughout the hotel is stained and worn as another reviewer noted, but that was the only appearance piece that really stood out for me. The breakfast has a waffle maker, plain bagels and two kinds of smallish muffins. Fruit Loops and Rice Crispies and Orange Juice complete the menu. There is no decaf coffee which wasn't an issue for me. I did not use it, but the pool and pool area was fairly large and appeared to be in very good condition (actually goes to 8') as opposed to the postage stamp pools I have seen in newer hotels. Kids or lap swimmers could really have a good time. Finally if you need to get around town without a car, there is a bus stop across the street from the hotel that takes you right downtown every 15 minutes during commute hours and every 30 minutes the rest of the day for $1.50. You can also take public transit in from the airport.

got in room found ac not working 100% so they moved us next door to room which was an easy move treated good was traveling through so had no notice worked out great. continental breakfast was ok carbon waffles are the best . even allowed are pets had a nice big pool easy check out
