We stayed in a room with two queen beds in Yavapai West. The room was clean and comfortable. We did have wifi in the room, which we considered a bonus, as that's not a guarantee. Easy to park right in front of the room. Easy walk over to the main lodge, but we preferred to drive as it was icy and very cold (early January). It is VERY DARK at night, so bring a small flashlight with you. The gentleman at check-in was very friendly and made great suggestions on where to go for sunrise & sunset viewing - he even drew maps, so we didn't get lost. Food in the lodge was okay - it's doable, just don't have high expectations. We did not visit the Grocery Store, but it is right beside the main lodge at Yavapai. We did send postcards from the post office, beside the grocery store - that was easy. All in all, a great place to say, solo traveler or travelling with family - highly recommend, and I would stay here again.

Had a very good time here. They reached out to me in advance to check on my needs and made sure everything is taken care of at the time of check in. Though the room was little small but had everything and moreover, very near to all the Grand Canyon attractions. Doesn’t take much effort to get out and go in a hike in the canyons. I am sure to stay here again whenever I visit the canyons.

The check in was quick and smooth, the staff was very friendly, and the room was great. What really stands out is how pet friendly this lodge is. You are surrounded by trees, the room has wood floors and a large crate, and you can eat with your pet at the tavern patio. No doubt, I will be back.

I had an average experience. I guess you are paying for the location, and not for the quality or service. Its an old hotel that was quite depressing when walking in. There was hardly any light on at night, making finding the building quite tricky. The room smelled of mold, there were stains on towels, lots of questionable splash marks on the bathroom walls. Hardly any toilet paper left on the roll and no spare (we had to ask for anither roll). Coffee pods were filled with 4 decaf and 2 teas. I'm not overly fussy when it comes to hotels, having previuisly stayed at multiple 1-star hotels happily. However, in this instance, the lack of care from housekeeping and investments on maintaining the hotel was disappointing. Lastly, I opted for a late checkout at 11 AM and when I returned to the room at 10:40 AM, the cleaner was already in the room cleaning. He was annoyed that I requested to use the bathroom and when I thanked him as I was leaving, no reply, and just brushed past me - shouldnt have left a tip. I wouldnt stay here again.
