We made a quick trip to Columbus to celebrate our 12th anniversary. I had some Marriott points and this is one of the hotels that popped up that we could get for free. I thought okay it's a pretty good bargain! This is an extended stay hotel - so no drive up and check in like normal hotels. So we parked came in to check in - everything with that process was great. The staff had our room ready and it was early (3:45 instead of 4 PM). We had room number 132. It is really a small apartment. Small kitchenette, living room, bathroom and bedroom. So it was spacious. It is dated though - the lamp shade was torn, knicks and scratches on the furniture, the bed was not the most comfortable by a long shot. The room itself was clean though and for the brief time we were actually in the room it served its purpose.
After spending a night at the Hilton Garden Inn we moved to the Town Place Suites as a room became available and our softball team was staying there. Much to my surprise the room we had was quiet and clean. Enjoyed having the full kitchen even though we didn’t use it. Staff was delightful and responsive to our needs. Would stay again if I’m in the area.
The people that work here are so welcoming and happy to help you in any way they can. I was only here for two night but if and when we come back this is the place to stay. I felt at home. Joraan athe the front desk was so helpful and caring. Thank you for employing her!
I don't even know where to begin. We had to evacuate Fernandina Beach Florida during hurricane Irma because my mother is a dialysis patient. Our wonderful experience at TownePlace Suites started with a warm welcome from Jordan and it just got better from there. One of the MANY sweet and helpful housekeepers helped us to our room and made sure we had everything we needed. The customer service at this location was OUTSTANDING. I cannot say enough good things about them. I even had a staff member offer to go and get his umbrella and let me use it when I took my dog out for a walk. I'm sure the work load during this time was 3 times more than usual because of all the people staying there due to the evacuation but you would never know it by the pleasant demeanor of each and every employee. They all deserve a raise or at least a bonus for their amazing service. Not only at TownePlace Suites but the entire town of Columbus gave us a warm welcome everywhere we went. If I ever have to travel to Columbus again, I will certainly stay at TownePlace Suites. Sincerely, Diane Schneider
Visited with our pets while fleeing Hurricane Irma. Very accommodating staff. Room was beautiful, clean and well appointed. Ample sized fridge and kitchen area in general. Ice machine in lobby is a nice plus. Able to order food from many local restaurants. Even under these stressful circumstances we enjoyed our stay.
We stayed at the Towneplace Suites and it was a joy to stay here. We were greeted by the amazing guest services manager, Kiki, when we entered the hotel. We were early to check in (12pm) and she said she would have our room cleaned right away, so we could get in our room as early as possible. We had a two bedroom suite and she asked us what floor we would like to be on. We said first and Kiki made it happen. They gave me a call telling us that our room would be ready. We just went by the front desk and got the room key and went into our room. The room was clean, nice, spacious, and well designed. The room was only the icing on the cake. The breakfast attendant, Sabrina, was especially kind and asked everybody how there day was going. The breakfast was a nice and fully stocked breakfast every morning. The housekeeping was another nice touch. We did not want our room cleaned during our stay, so the housekeepers asked us what we would need everyday. We just said towels, wash cloths, toilet paper, etc. and they had it outside our door in a bag everyday. Raychelle(sorry if I spelled it wrong), was the one who made this happen. Anything we needed for our stay, Raychelle would give to us. The laundry room was conveniently placed on the 1st floor and we did laundry there just about every other night. One night while we doing laundry, the dryer took our money and did not turn on. We went to the front desk, and told Elosha what had happened. She apologized and said she could restart is for us and she did. Elosha was also very kind and nice throughout our whole stay. James was also very, very kind and helpful. He would wipe down every room door every night and vacuum the hallways once a few days. He would additionally mop the lobby every other night and made the hotel in top shape. He not only did all of this, but he helped us start the grill and put some charcoal in the grill for us. On top of all the amazing staff, the General manager, LaTrina Wright, was the best. She always asked us how our days was going and knew us by name. She was also a very kind person just to talk too. We were working out and the TVs in the gym did not work. We did not want to say anything, as we did not want to complain. LaTrina comes in the laundry room the next day and asked us if the TVs in the gym had been working. We said no and her response was "We can't fix anything if nobody tells us." She had it fixed the next day. This is amazing customer service and this how hotels should be run. LaTrina was just the best manager I think I have seen out of any hotel I have stayed at. In conclusion, this has been the best hotel I have stayed at in a while and I recommend any one coming to Columbus stay here.
This stay was a nightmare. We come down very frequently for graduations and events for my brothers' who are in the army. We always stay either here or at the Marriott next door. We will NEVER make that mistake again. Our room, 306, was infested with bed bugs. The mattress was covered in rust colored pinhead sized stains and was very old and stained in general. The room was smelly. Our toilet had to be repaired twice while we were there. The linen closet had clouds of marijuana drifting out under the door. When we got on the elevator after one of the housekeepers the marijuana smoke was so strong we began coughing. Breakfast was a disaster and the breakers were tripped causing only half of the breakfast area/food to be able to be used. The hotel itself and corporate Marriott have refused to respond or handle the situation. The manager simply emailed and said this is impossible because all their mattresses have bug proof zip covers. Ours did not, it only had a fabric fitted cover that did not fully incase the mattress. This is a nightmare and I will never stay at a Marriott again. If I could give 0 stars I would!
Our family is in the process of a PCS move to the area. This place has been AMAZING!!! We have been here in one of their Two Bedroom suites for awhile while waiting for our house on Post is ready. The experience has been Great!! Especially Elosha.... She has been sooo sweet, and very attentive to our familiy's needs! Definitely recommend this hotel!!
Me and my family were coming down for my sister's graduation and little did I know, EVERYBODY just happen to be coming down from May 26 to May 29 so we didn't have anywhere to stay. I called this place and they happened to just have a room open. We stayed there for 3-4 days and received nothing but good service. I enjoyed their little kitchen set up and room in general. The pool was very relaxing and the breakfast had me coming back for more (and the lady who served it was very kind and did her job.) I definitely know where I'm staying next time I'm in town. *Also sorry I'm like a month late haha.
My mother and I stayed here while we attended the Miss Georgia pageant this past weekend. the hotel was clean and in a safe area of town (a consideration in Columbus). The staff were extremely helpful! I have three critiques though- The hotel should make small updates like out door latch and two of our door knobs were broken. Also, we went down for breakfast at 945 and the selection was slim- no coffee, no more biscuits and gravy, only cereal and yogurt. I realize it was late, but the hotel should make an effort to keep all items available until 10. We ended up having to pay for breakfast elsewhere. The only other thing is really a bone to pick with most extended stay hotels- the smoking section is always right at the front door and walking through a constant cloud of smoke to enter my hotel is not something I want to do. I've run into this issue before at other properties....
