Our family moved to Fort Benning and stayed at this hotel with our dogs and kids. My family stayed around 6-7 weeks while waiting for a house to become available on post. We enjoyed the grills and pool in the back of the hotel, as well as the complimentary laundry. There is a new general manager and a lot of new staff that go above and beyond their jobs. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
I stayed in this hotel this week while on business in Columbus. The room was large and very accommodating: large fridge, large work desk, good internet, nice kitchen area with two eye stove. Can't say enough good things about this place and especially the staff. Located less than two minutes from major roads and less than 5 from many restaurants. About 15 minutes from uptown (what we would call downtown) and the riverwalk. Less than 10 minutes from Flat Rock Park and rails to trails access.
Went down to see my son graduate from AIT. I made the reservation on shorter notice than my usual. My first time staying in a Candlewood Suites hotel so I wasn't really sure what to expect. I read a few other reviews and thought it would be okay. "Okay" is exactly what I got. We were given a room for the disabled which would have been a plus, if the room had not been so poorly laid out and if one of us had been disabled. The bed was pushed to the side of the bedroom, to make enough space for a wheelchair. Unfortunately, this left about six inches on the other side of the bed to get in or out of. This was completely inadequate for two adults. Lighting in the room was not very good. Since the bed was so far to one side of the room, there was light only on one side of the bed. Can't do much reading when the other person wants to turn off her light. Drainage in the bathroom sink.... The bathroom sink barely drained. Running the water for 30 seconds required more than 10 minutes to drain. When we asked them to repair it, they were unable to send anyone until we were checking out. Overall, this was not a very pleasant stay. I'm planning to come back down to the Ft. Benning area in the next several weeks but I'm pretty sure that I'll find other accommodations. The best feature of this hotel was it's proximity to the base. Other than that, I don't think I would recommend this place unless there was very little else to choose from. Pity.
We went to our sons graduation and stayed here. I read the mixed reviews and was wary but I am very happy to have stayed here. Room was spacious and clean and the hotel is conveniently located. Employees were all very personable and always said good morning and good evening and helped us whenever we needesd. Would definitely stay again. Free laundry is also a big plus.
Haven’t even stayed here yet🤔calling to inquire about room ladies were quite short 😠and had an attitude..so not cool as if they could careless if we stayed there or not🤨they need customer service classes
Stay here two nights mid week in August. Check in was a breeze. Only negative was they apparently didn’t have daily cleaning, but for me wasn’t a really big deal. Room was very well equipped. Refreshments in lobby were very reasonable. Example 12oz can of coke .75 cents. If in area I would stay again.
We spent 3 nights here while visiting our son at Fort Benning. The hotel was clean and in a great location, near the fort and near historic downtown Columbus. The beds were very comfortable. We had a full kitchen that was well equipped. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The very best though, was Ariel at the front desk! We were very tired when we arrived after a long day of traveling. She greeted us with a huge smile and southern charm. She gave us a good recommendation for dinner. I would recommend this hotel.
I just got in town from a very hectic and frustrating day of travel (planes, trains and automobiles) and being greeted at the front desk by the friendly clerk made all the difference. The room are nice, clean and quiet. The location is convenient too. Nice property.
Stayed one night with wife for a formal military function. The room was clean and bed read comfortable. Suite kitchenette appeared to be adequate to support an extended stay and the hotel's lending locker seemed well equipped. I would stay here again.
A co-worker and I stayed here for business at nearby Ft Benning. The hotel was ok, just not the greatest surroundings. Staff at the front desk was always friendly and helpful. There is a small workout room, with 1 of 2 treadmills broken. Strange for only 1 elevator as well for the size of the hotel. The room was clean and well stocked. Warm water came quickly, but I could never get the cooling adjusted properly. I was either too cool, or warm. Must be the placement of the thermometer. Good value for the money though.
