Pet Friendly Clearwater Beach Hotels

Fun and Sun in Clearwater Beach

While many vacation destinations claim to have the best weather, only Clearwater Beach has been officially recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records for the longest run of consecutive sun-filled days. Coming in at 768, that equates to more than two years’ worth of sun-bathing non-stop. Hotels in Clearwater Beach put you within easy access of some of the best beaches in the States, as well as some fantastic attractions, making this a haven for families and couples.

Life’s a (Clearwater) Beach

With its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico, the sapphire seas off the west coast of Florida are almost as warm as its beaches. If you’re having trouble deciding where to stay in Clearwater Beach, ask yourself what you want from your downtime. You’ll find plenty of Clearwater Beach hotels within walking distance of the powder-soft sands, and you’ll find a good selection in the city’s busy downtown area if you prefer a more urban-chic setting for your vacation in Florida. However, with so many beaches to choose from, you’ll find that most accommodation in Clearwater Beach offers the best of both worlds.

Clearwater Beach

Blessed with powder-soft sands and a shoreline that shelves gently into the azure sea, Clearwater Beach is a firm favorite with families. The Beach Walk Promenade is just behind the beach itself and fringed with gently-swaying palm trees. Here you’ll find boutique shops selling souvenirs and those all-important vacation essentials. Pier 60 offers a romantic vantage-point for couples who want to soak up a sunset. On weekends you’ll find movies being played on a giant, inflatable cinema screen, so you can watch famous flicks under the stars.

However, not all the attractions on Clearwater Beach are confined to the land. For those who want to feel the wind in their hair and see some sights along the way, there are some excellent boat tours. Hop in a powerboat and zip across the waves, or take things at a slightly slower speed in an old-fashioned pirate galleon.

For one of the best coastal views, make your way to Sand Key. A pet-friendly beach, it’s ideal for those staying in hotels in Clearwater Beach with their dog. There are cabanas to rent and regular lifeguard patrols, making this another family-centered spot.

Caladesi Island

To combine sunbathing with a little adventure, Caladesi Island is the place to go. While you can catch a ferry from Honeymoon Island Park, it’s much more fun to hire a boat or rent a kayak and get there at your own pace. Completely unspoilt and without the crowds you’ll normally find at the bigger beaches, it’s a fun family day out. Once you’re ready, paddle back to shore before relaxing in style in one of the many Clearwater Beach hotels.

Spend some time in the Busch

Less than an hour’s drive from Clearwater Beach is Busch Gardens. A perfect day out for all the family, Busch Gardens is an African-themed fun park where the accent is definitely on ‘fun’. Hop aboard Sesame Street’s Air Grover roller coaster, splash and scream your way along the Stanley Falls flume ride, or meet exotic animals as you take a safari, courtesy of the Serengeti Express train ride.

If you love a little rush of adrenaline, there are some nerve-shredding attractions on which to test your nerves. The Cobra’s Curse is a gigantic, steel snake that hurtles along a 2,000-foot long rack, achieving speeds of up to 40mph. Alternatively, brave the Congo River Rapids. With jets of water spraying at you, waterfalls in your way and some seriously damp caves, staying dry on this river ride just isn’t an option.

You’ll find all of this entertainment in close proximity to Clearwater Beach hotels, making them the perfect accommodation choice in Florida. What’s more, hotels in Clearwater Beach are often more affordable than, say, Orlando, even during high season.
