I'm writing this review so maybe some one at the hotel will answer. I stayed at the end of March. I booked a ground floor, so I could easily step out side for a cigarette. It was raining that night so a had to stand close to the wall and not get wet. I found a $250 charge on my credit card for smoking in the room. I never smoked in the room. The desk people told me that the notes on the file said an ash was found in the room. It may have blown in, but I never smoked in the room. I have e-mailed four times. Called twice. And no answer. I have even e-mailed Choice Hotels, as I'm a Diamond member. Nothing. Looked at my history. Have stayed 42 nights since the beginning of the year at Choice Hotels. I want an answer and a refund. Its too bad. Because I like the hotel and staff.
Our car had broken down and we needed a hotel for the night. Was very please with the rate offered on priceline.com and impressed how quickly the online booking posted to Comfort Inns main reservation system. No hassels and Alana at the front desk was very accommodating. Had all a person could ask for in overnight stay when you weren't packed for it. There was a base for phone chargers, toothbrushes and combs, and a decent breakfast spread to get you on your way in the morning. Not to mention I am pregnant and the bed was very comfy and the tub was deep enough for a nice soak after a stressful day!
The quality of the hotel room is ok. The shower has good pressure, the internet works fine, and the breakfast is acceptable. The hotel however does not have an elevator, so anyone with mobility restrictions or lots of luggage will have a hard time. The hotel only lets you enter from the front, which has very limited parking. You will most likely have to park in the back and walk around the building, which is extremely inconvenient in bad weather.
We have stayed in the past and the rooms have been updated since our last visits. The rooms are very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We enjoyed the continental breakfast with lots of choices. The staff were very nice.
I recently made a reservation for me and my show dog at the Comfort Inn - Chilliwack. I was told that there was a $25 deposit and a $10 charge for my dog and I agreed. I arrived at 9 p.m. and was told that they did not have a room for me even though I had a reservation. The front desk employee, Hannah, said that if I took my dog to the room, she would charge me $250 extra and she cancelled my reservation. I asked to speak to a Manager and she said that the Manager, Jan, was at home and did not want to be bothered. I asked her to call her anyway, Jan said that this happens a lot, there was nothing she could do and hung up on me. I contacted the Corporate Offices and received a Comment ID and a promise that I would hear back in 7 - 10 days. It has been 3 weeks with no response. If you are attending a dog show (or any event) in Chilliwack, DO NOT stay at the unComfort Inn, I highly recommend the Coast Hotel.
Even with the front desk person seeing the bugs, and even with pictures of the bites, the management tells us there were no bugs found in our room. What total crap! We approached the front desk at about 10pm at night and she came up to see the bugs. She clearly saw them and commented that it was "gross". Of course the hotel was completely full so we moved to cots in the room.... we should have left but moving the kids at that time was hard. We were not 100% sure they were bed bugs and management assured us they looked with lights and found no bugs. Look at the picture below.... clearly they are wrong. One of the kids has now taken the bugs home and the family is dealing with the bugs at their house now ! Oh yah and a bunch of cars were broken into and we were told after the fact that they had had these problems before and were adding cameras in the future - a little too late for our trip ! NEVER STAY HERE AGAIN !
Hotel price is too high for what you get. Rooms are clean. Breakfast is included in the cost and there is a small sitting area to eat your breakfast. Not enough parking. Numerous hotel guests had to park their vehicles in non designated parking areas. Guests did not want to park off the hotel site as there is some one going around smashing vehicle windows. Internet was not strong enough to watch Netflix, play computer games or Xbox. The hotel is currently being renovated.
Rooms on second floor were better than the first. Had to move because our initial room toilet would not work. We were with a group that had pre-booked but unfortunately the site wouldn't honor the arranged group pricing with ALL group members. Some people paid much more while others had the proper group rate. There is NO security or cameras in the parking area. They warn you when you check in to park in the front of the building. The parking is limited and I was unable to park in front. I parked on the side of the building under bright lights and someone tried to break into my car. Smashed my window. 4 other vehicles windows were smashed and cars ransacked the same night. If the hotel was aware they have a theft and vandalism problem, why are they not providing security on site? The next night more cars that were parked out front, also had windows smashed and things taken. The staff were nice but have a sense that the management is very unconcerned with the comfort of their guests. I will NEVER stay here again, nor recommend it. I think a rating of 1 is too high......
Rooms are fine and reasonably priced. Someone broke our side window out and rifled thru our stuff but really didn't take anything. Another vehicle also had its side window broken out. The hotel instantly gave us a list of glass companies to contact for a repair. The staff were not helpful. We had to contact the police ourself, they didn't even say anything about the incident at all. The glass guy said it was common for this to happen and had repaired a window from there the day befor. I would recommend they install better lighting, security cameras and night staff.
Clean rooms, pet friendly means you could have a happy dog next door, breakfast okay but no place to sit, have to take tray to your room, however no elevator. The confirmed internet price may not be what you get when you check out, twice it was tens of dollars more.
