My wife wanted to buy a bottle of water and was told she could not because the person at the desk "WAS TAKING INVENTORY." There were only 3 or 4 bottles in the cooler! Can't you hire people who can count?
Great place to stay!
Convenient
PROS: I loved the artwork in the lobby. The bedding and pillows were exceptionally comfortable, and the hotel felt very clean. I loved that each bed had several different thicknesses/firmnesses of pillows - so you could easily find a good fit for your typical sleeping habits. Breakfast was good - it was very nice to have foods that are more savory rather than just sweets. CONS: Upon check-in, we received a room on the first floor, which was a nice treat. Unfortunately, as soon as we opened the door we smelled smoke - so we didn't even enter the room. I don't know if this was from a previous guest or one of the workers (I spied a worker smoking outside while collecting garbage/sweeping). The desk clerk said it was most common to receive complaints about smoke from the rooms closest to the exits, and dispatched a machine to clean the room. We were immediately given a different room on a different floor, which smelled very clean. I am asthmatic and am especially sensitive to air quality. The rest of the hotel had very good air quality (not musty, damp, or smoky - just pure) , so I'm glad it was contained to only one space.
Great hotel. Decorated nicely. Front desk agent very helpful. Have free shuttle service to restaurants. Etc. Great bedding.
Basic and no frills. No cups in the bathroom, but cups are near coffee set-up. No tissue in the bedroom, but there was tissue in the bathroom. No premium channels. Ridiculous movie prices. Location is good relative to UVA, where I was headed. A couple of places to eat within walking distance. Front desk staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast had all of the basic steamer tray fare: scrambled eggs, breakfast meat, waffle-maker. Oatmeal was good and with a nice topping selection. Fruit was fresh and refreshing. No gym. As I said, clean, basic, but serviceable hotel.
very good hotel, has free shuttle to downtown, good continental breakfast
Went for First Night. Great location, great hotel great people
This hotel was extremely clean and the staff was super nice and helpful. Great downtown location...would return.
Very nice staff. Typical Hampton Inn rooms and amenities. Great location if you are going to UVa Hospital or clinics.
Friendly staff, clean facilities, near bars. The price could be lower, though.
Good overall, the rooms were not luxurious, but clean.
I chose this hotel for it's location. I was I town for a conference at UVA's school and was a short 7min walking distance from where I needed to be. Perfect! In addition, Charlottesville is full of tasty restaurants that are a shirt distance from the university location. The only thing I would've changed is that I would have brought my own pillow. The pillows were very uncomfortable and affected my sleep :-(
Clean. Good breakfast. Good location. Close to the highway.
