Spent three nights here and enjoyed it. It's a short walk to the beach and also to many nice restaurants. There is a Metro stop near-by. The rooms were nice and clean, and the breakfast was good. The staff was friendly and helpful.

This is a tricky review. I stayed for 4 nights and the first two were excellent. The third night I was woken at 3am by what appeared to be a high pitched alarm three times. Having enquired at reception I was told that there was no alarm. I subsequently deduced that the sound may be coming from the air conditioning unit. The staff were really helpful and I was upgraded to a superior room for the last night. The room was lovely with full on city view however the air conditioning unit was not working and I had to sleep with the window open. The showers were good in both rooms and the rooms were clean and generally comfortable for the most part. The views of the city were amazing. The staff were very attentive and efficient. The breakfast was okay but no more than that. The hotel would have scored more if not for the experience with the second half of my stay.

This is no way higher than a 3 star hotel. The bed has THE most uncomfortable, hard rock mattress I have ever slept on. In fact, it feels like a box spring. I’ve traveled to many islands and across the US so perhaps this is typical of a European hotel. But it equates to my memory of a Holiday Inn I stayed in as a child.

Hotel very clean, beds comfy. The staff are very helpful and always had a smile. The hotel restaurant is very good we ate there the first night, very good price.Five minutes walk to beach and restaurants. Some shops and restaurants called rambla del poblenou half a mile walk from hotel very nice tapas called EL 58,they were queuing to get in well worth it.

This was a great hotel. Close to beach, 6 minutes away in foot. Close to great shopping and food. And a McDonald’s!! Nice walk to beach and the aquarium with a mall. Air conditioning worked great. Good size room. Beds were decent. Okay view, a little weird of the ocean and a cemetery but overall happy with the hotel.

This hotel is fairly new and close to the beach (if that is what you want) or metro. However, if you are there to visit city sites, this is not for you. Positives; clean room close to beach and subway good breakfast (lots of choices for Spain) and good coffee Not so positive: we walked everywhere and it was far from the tourist attractions. Last time we stayed in Barcelona we were next to the Gothic quarters and it was much better. For this hotel, you need to go eat dinner BEFORE you come back or you end up walking/taking cab or subway once again. This meant long days. We much prefer to be in the center of things and have a less known hotel: location, location, location. As for getting to the train station, we ended up taking 2 different subway lines in rush hour and at least 8 stations. Gruesome. The rain shower head never worked and the hand-held shower head was leaking from everywhere. The bathroom was very basic. Our room was on the 7th floor with a view of a gas station: noisy at night. Our travel agency said 4 stars, not to us.

The hotel was decent except that it left an unpleasant breakfast experience with us. The breakfast space is too small to accommodate all guests, specially during the rush hour between 8:30 to 9:30am. The staff needs training, out of the four breakfasts we had there we were only greeted by the front desk lady who took the room numbers once. Once they take your number you are out there on your own to find a table in the chaos. I think they should keep count how many guests they are letting in into that tiny space and take them to their table after taking their room number, rather than us having to wander around to conquer a table. One day there was no-one at the reception desk and my friend walked in...the lady waitress there rushed towards my friend out of no where and asked for her room number in such a manner in-front of the other guests as if she had no business to be there was rude. On the positives they had great front reception staff, Dario was excellent gave us lots of good tips and was very informative. Bed was comfortable and room was as expected. Location is good too, beach was 10 mins walk away, there is a nearby metro and bus stops. Taxi to the airport will cost you between £35-£40.

Do not stay in room 717 - Window lock broken Air conditioning not working correctly Brown stained basin Mirror backing coming off in bathroom General lack of attention to detail Would not classify this as a 4* hotel only 3* at best So disappointed with quality of hotel and lack of managerial response to issues

Visited with my wife and paid extra for superior room. What was annoying was. Sparkling water in mini bar but no bottle opener. Only one dressing gown and slippers for double room. Cleaner did not restock mini bar or tea and coffee properley. As i said they were only annoyances but when you are paying an extra 20 euro per day you would like it to be right. The hotel was comfortable. I would say that it is more a clean 3 star and the staff need more training/supervision.

This hotel is in a great location for the beach, so is fantastic when the weather is good, however would not recommend if you want to be within the hustle and bustle of the city centre. The hotel is situated right next to a petrol station, which is little bit of an eye sore. Also may have been responsible for the loud noises that kept awaking us around 3am - probably best to sleep with the window shut! We chose to walk everywhere, but there were plenty of bus stops nearby with regular services. There are lots of local restaurants nearby and a McDonalds a few minutes away in case you're after an easy tea. We ordered a room-service pizza one night which was reasonable (if a little bit pricey). The breakfast buffet was ok, though didn't have a great amount of choice (a typical continental breakfast), and the toaster took forever. We didn't end up using the gym, however did notice that you had to pay for this amenity (I think it was around €5 per day). I've never been to a hotel before where you have to pay extra to use facilities that are advertised on their website, so thought this was a bit unusual. Our room itself was very clean and had everything we needed; the bed was particularly comfy! We were situated on the top floor so had a great view over Barcelona, though we couldn't see the sea. The bathroom facilities were clean and shampoo etc. was provided. A hairdryer was provided but would recommend taking your own if you have thick/long hair, as it isn't very powerful. The cleaning staff did a thorough daily clean and towels were replaced daily. The staff working on reception and at breakfast were really friendly, though the cleaning staff weren't so much (not sure if this may just be due to the language barrier, which is fair enough). On arrival, we were provided with a map and a quick introduction as to what was nearby, which was really useful! Check-out was also quick and easy.
