Stayed for a couples weekend. Staff very helpful. Breakfast service good and because I had reserved a room that didn't include the breakfast they offered to prepare items a la cart, si that I would have more to choose from. Taxi services right there. Views and city life right there on the Cathedral square. Could be a bit noisy at night because of that but with doors closed you don't hear much. Restaurants and cafes right around the hotel. Hop on hop off stop right by hotel, metro stops also very near. I will definitely stay there again to enjoy the Gothic District.

From the great location to the fabulous amenities, this hotel was 5 stars in my book( and we travel a lot). The staff was friendly, location central and safe. We enjoyed the outdoor seating for coffee while watching all the happenings in the square . It was a perfect stay in Barcelona.

Two blocks from Paula de Música Catalana, Across the plaza from Gothic cathedral. Walking distance to downtown. Many excellent restaurants, home made ice cream store, and famous churros very close by. Raquel from customer relations at Hotel Colon arranged all of the tours which we wanted prior to our arrival, and did an excellent job!!

Excellent location. Excellent customer service. Will definitely go back. Highly recommend this hotel.

Easy location to explore historic Barcelona; many sites within walking distance and the excellent Metro in convenient. Staff was helpful - let us check in a little earlier, helped make restaurant reservations, etc.

We enjoyed a one night stay and would happily go back. Staff were helpful, location perfect, though I would not recommend this if you are driving your own car because assess by road is complicated and through twisting narrow streets. Access for anyone in a wheelchair or who walks poorly is not good, which should be expected in a historic hotel.

Great facility close to shopping, tours, and restaurants. Directly across from cathedral. Hotel has excellent amenities and service. 30-35 euros from airport.

Simple, quiet clean room, polite and helpful staff and puts you in an ideal spot to explore Barcelona.

It is kind of old building, but....Location is unimaginable, it is in best possible place in Barcelona. Windows are overlooking the plaza with 14th century church. Evenings with live music, good restaurant downstairs and proximity to everything.

Great location to stay for weekend trip. Friendly and kind staff. A little old fashioned but still great. I will definitely stay again.

Overall the hotel wasn't bad, the location makes up for a lot of the shortfalls. The biggest negative is the construction currently going on in the building. The jackhammering and banging starts around 8am and goes til about 7pm so if you wanted some down time in your room during the day it wasn't so pleasant. The room was fine but we had mechanical issues in our bathroom. To their benefit, they were very attentive and quick to respond w/ getting the repairs made. Other positives: The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was great. in the middle of 2 different metro stops and close enough to walk around the old Town. I would recommend this place once the construction has ended but not sure when that will be done.

My wife and I just returned from a one week trip to Barcelona Spain.. Our stay at the hotel Colon could be described as nothing but wonderful. After reading all the reviews of the hotel I was concerned about its age, and lack of modernization. These concerns were not warranted. The staff was great from Gregory to Sergie. If hotel age is a concern, rest assured the Colon is an elegant, well run treasure that does not show it's age at all. We would strongly recommend the hotel without any reservation.

we had a great time...fabulous location!!! clean room and comfortable bed

Great location and good food and service. Convenient to shopping, transportation and restaurants. Beautiful cathedral across the street.

I booked a hotel for a single traveler. Room was very tiny. Location was great. Staff was not very friendly at first, but eventually helped me with my shuttle to the airport.

Location is awesome, right across the plaza from the gothic cathedral. Thus lots of tourists continuously outside the hotel, however this didn't bother me one bit. My room was on the inside courtyard side facing other rooms' windows, so this could be why it was quiet despite the hoards of people around. The neighborhood is great, lots of old, narrow winding streets, cute restaurants tucked away, and lots of shopping. My only complaints would be that the provided toiletries are very low quality and a few of the front desk staff are a bit stuffy. Overall, good hotel, good value, and great location.

During check in at the hotel we were told Air conditioning does not get turned on in Barcelona until May which was ok because it was in the low 50’s at night and mid 60’s during the day, we could open our balcony doors and let the cool air in. Good idea right, except Barcelona does not sleep, at midnight the 1st garbage truck shows up and empties the trash can banging and making all kinds of noise, at 1:00 am the 2nd garbage truck shows up and does the same thing. At 2:00 am the street sweeper drives back and forth, you hear the noise it makes, then people start going home from the bars so they are walking down the street making even more noise, this goes on until 4:00 am. Yes we could close the windows and it would reduce most of the noise but the room would get hot and sticky. The bed was also like sleeping on the tile floor, it was as hard as a rock. There were several good things about the hotel, the staff was courteous and spoke very good English, it was in a great location as far as sightseeing and the rooms where kept very clean. If we were to go back to Barcelona we would pick a different hotel. Our recommendation would be if you stay at this hotel bring a fan so you can keep the windows closed and ask for extra bedding to help make the bed more comfortable.

The hotel has a very expensive restaurant. Had no wiFi internet the whole time it was not working. The snacks had also high prices and nothing was courtesy Over all the room was not elegant and lacked of decorations compared to other high end hotels Staff was cordial and nice The hotel is excellent for its location but falls short for other hotels 4 stars

Hotel is very nice !!!!! , Staff is very friendly !!! It's very clean !!!!! Location doesn't get any better, everything is at walking distance. There is a magnificent Cathedral across the plaza...I'm not mentioning stores , restaurants, coffee shops .......... Downsides are that the building is kind of old but it is very clean. Breakfast is expensive , but there is plenty of places You can have a breakfast near by.... Can't go wrong, one of the best places in Barcelona if not the best !!!
