A very good property ... centrally located. Walking distance from all shopping centres. Big rooms with very effective staff. Hotel staff are very cooperative and accomodating. Walking distance from the shopping hub of the city.

The hotel is in a great location for visiting Barcelona, easy access to Metro, which is a very efficient means of transport. Staff very friendly and helpful. Amazing breakfast with a wonderful range of food (continental style) Only downside is the fact that there is no outside space if you want to sunbath and the hotel doesn’t do evening meals. We stayed for three nights and were very pleased

I stayed twice at this hotel at the beginning and end of a recent trip. On the first stay I had a room on the 4th floor which was perfectly adequate and a very nice size but very poor air conditioning. Fortunately it was not too hot otherwise the room would have been stifling. On the second stay my room was on the 8th floor and smaller than the first room but had a terrace which was very nice. Housekeeping is very good. The staff are friendly and efficient. The breakfast charge is astronomical though so I did not pay for breakfast preferring instead to go to one of the many super cafes around the hotel. The metro runs under this hotel so I recommend a room on the upper floors as I imagine the noise on the lower floors could be quite disruptive. All in all a nice stay and the location of the hotel is excellent.

A cozy small hotel in a walking distance to a lot of useful interest points, from great restaurants and bars, to shopping on the Diagonal. Depending on your purpose of being in Barcelona, this cute hotel cuts through the noise of so many others which do not deliver on their promises. The large suite 904 offers a great top-roof view from its large terrace.

Lovely looking hotel at first glance, then you notice the plugs coming off the wall and then notice the air con, or lack of it? The bed was uncomfortable and the TV wasn't for English. If you wanted breakfast it was 17 euros, no way! The staff were friendly enough but we asked for info for the bus and told us wrong! There was a small city tax that we didn't know about when we booked. Also it was my Birthday (we've stayed at quite a few over my Birthdays and they always gave me a cake or something) and they me nothing unless my husband spent 50-70 euros, odd. The location was quite good.

Could not fault this hotel. We had a room on the 9th floor, which was a good sized terrace from where we could even see La Sagrada Familia in the distance. The room was spacious and we were kept well stocked with toiletries. My wife's sister and her friend stayed in a standard room, but hey were also very pleased with their room The hotel is in an excellent location in the more up-market part of Barcelona, with restaurants, shops and only 5 mins walk from the nearest metro. The staff were very friendly and attentive and they have their own security, so you feel safe. I highly recommend this hotel.

Everyone was so kind and professional. The front desk staff provided great recommendations for meals and what to do. Always right on point. At least one person at all times spoke English. The bed was comfortable and room cozy. The gym was great. It was not crowded and had top end Life Fitness equipment: a spin bike, treadmill, elliptical and weights. The restaurant had the best breakfast with fresh smoothies, patisseries, juice, coffee, etc. Our friends that traveled with us, travel a lot as well, and we thought it was the best breakfast! We will definitely be back.

During my last visit in Barcelona I was staying in the Balmoral hotel. I think the hotel is a good hotel, but the beds are not. The bed in my room was small and uncomfortable. According to the staff I had a double bed. But if you are 1.80 meter plus, then this bed is far to small, even for one person. The decorations of the room were basic but ok. The room had a big support pillar in the middle of the room. This doesn’t look very nice. The lobby and the public areas however were nice. Therefore, a good hotel but too bad about the beds.

Hotel was well located to metro and bus lines and easy walks to Las Rambla and other tourist destinations. Also lots of good restaurants close by. The breakfast was great for European and the hotel staff was exceptional.

Just returned from this hotel our room was tiny with a pier stuck in the middle of room the view was non existent and for a 4star hotel it was poor , had to pay for water and the coffee cups are carboard !! Also found the staff rude as are most of the people in barcelona

conveniente hotel close to everything

The location and price of the room for this time of year (June) was hard to beat. Conveniently located on the Diagonal street close to shops restaurants and walking distance to Plaza Cataluna and the start of the Rambla and old town of the city. Its located on a side street so the rooms are quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the tours I set up. Overall experience so far was very nice. The rooms on the other hand leaves something to desire. The bed was hard and the pillows terrible. I should say "the pillow" only one pillow per person. The bathroom was strangly laid out with the bidet facing the toilet. The problem was that the space between both were almost none existent. What were they thinking. No tub but instead a big shower stall which I prefer. On the upside the room and Hotel in general was very clean. The breakfast is a buffet style for $15 per person. Ate the first morning until I could get my bearings. For the quality of the food not worth it and there were plenty of places to have breakfast close to the hotel for much less. So if I could have gotten a better sleep I would have given a better rating because the breakfast buffet is not a deal breaker.

awesome vacation

Lovely, comfortable hotel with impeccable customer service. Ideally situated close to everything: La Sagrada Familia, Paseo de Gracia, Las Ramblas... Perfect. The rooms are clean and really relaxing. The staff have been wonderful... I would happily stay again!...

lovely hotel near cultural sites

My best friend and I loved our stay at the Abba Balmoral. Staff was super friendly when we did see them other times, they left us to our privacy. We were within walking distance to the Casa Mila and several major metro stops that took us anywhere we wanted to go very quickly. The outdoor sun terrace upstairs is also beautiful, but only go in the evening as the heat of the day is just too much in summer. The Abba Balmoral is also very near a Starbucks and a wonderful Thai restaurant run by 2 wonderful Thai ladies that can recommend some non-touristy things to do/see. The spa in the hotel is also a great value--I recommend the sauna!

very good place

We have stayed here before and really like the hotel. Our one complaint is that they have changed the type of pillow on the beds, and one of us found it to be very uncomfortable. There were no other pillow options. Other than that, we loved our stay.

hotel balmoral

My experience in this hotel was great. The room is big considering european standards, clean and the staff is very courteous. It is located very close to the metro station and is nearby turistic areas. The zone is secure even at night. If I visit the city again, I´ll definitely stay again in this hotel.
