Citadines Ramblas Barcelona

While this hotel was in the midst of some construction/renovation, this is no excuse for 2 of 4 staff members who seemed completely overwhelmed with check in and room assignments, never looking at people, focusing solely at the computer. While the room was clean at checkin, we were not told nor did I see it in the on-line description of hotel amenities that towels were replaced about twice weekly or we had to call or go to the desk to obtain replacements. Usual hotel room trash was likewise removed when the room was cleaned, or I had to go to the trash room to dispose of it myself. Unlike other places I've stayed at, there was only on trash can in the room. I erroneously assumed that like the two other Citadines' hotels I stayed at in Paris, this one as well would have had a table, chair, burners and some dishes/utensils for use. ( I am not speaking of the larger family style room that I neither expected or paid for.)

Great location, good price, near to the Gothic Quarter and La Ramblas. 5 minute walk to La Boqueria, 10 minute walk to the Born district. Less than 5 minute walk to the metro line and 10 minute walk to the train. Starbucks across the street if morning coffee is important to you. Room was spacious and even though we didn't use it much, the rooftop solarium was awesome if you wanted to make an evening drink and enjoy it overlooking the city. When we go back to Barcelona, I probably will not even look at other hotels, this one simply has everything that I look for.

I can recommend to friends. location is very good and not noisy during night. Wifi is not good, in lobby, internet and printer for reservation and map. so, i will stay if come back to Barcelona.

Great cannot get better clean modern excellent location

The hotel was in an excellent location. The room was clean. The bad thing was that the carpets in the hallways were disgustingly dirty full of stains. The wall where paper thin. You could hear the sneezing in the next room. You could hear everything through those walls. The elevator was so small you could only fit 2 people. I don;t even think it has an air source? You felt like there was no air in there. I enjoyed the location. However if you want everyone to hear your personal life then its perfect!

Great location. Price was ok for Barcelona standards, from what I researched. Clean room. Would stay there again. No complaints at all.

Just a little short of expectations. For a few dollars more there are more comfortable accomadations. If you are on a limited budget and want to eat in there is a stove and fridge microwave & dishwasher. Wonderfull open air market a block away.

The location was fantastic. On Las Ramblas about a block from all the Hop On Hop Off buses. Complimentary coffee in the morning overlooking Las Ramblas. Room was large with lots of room for luggage but could use a comfortable chair or two. There was a small kitchenette with all the essentials but we did not need or use it. Bath was good size as well. They did not provide wash clothes or kleenex but we never asked. Also, we could have used an electrical converter but the few they had were in use. We would definetly stay there again.

Good size room with great location. It was nice having a kitchen area with the necessary extras provided. The only complaint was that there was no Wi-Fi available anywhere in the hotel except at the one hotel computer. Though all the advertisements and signs throughout the hotel promised internet access, we were never able to access it on our computers during our entire stay. We had to share use of the one hotel computer with the other people staying at the hotel.

I was a complete tourist for 48 hrs. Location on Ramblas is great. I asked for a quiet room, got assigned a dumpy room with a window on the Ramblas (would have been very noisy), asked for new room, got reassigned to completely quiet and spacious room. Advertised WiFi was complete fiction except in first floor "business" area, where it was spotty.

this place is perfectly located between las ramblas and the gothic neighborhood, both a must when in barcelona!!! if you are there to eat and drink your vacation away you wont need to go very far or have to worry about getting back to your room. the bed was just a fold out so after a week on it your back is gonna hurt but other than that the room was perfect. friendly staff and very clean place!!! if its your first time in barcelona this is where you need to be!!

a blast! would return .... good value for the $$$$

Kitchenette and fridge were handy. Hotel is across street from inexpensive grocery store and near market. Convenient location in a great walking city. Rooms overlooking Ramblas could be noisy but we enjoyed watching the activity from our room. It did not interfere with sleeping. Staff was friendly and helpful. We were in Barcelona for five days prior to leaving on a repositioning cruise back to the states and they let us stay later than the normal check-out time as we could not board ship until 1 p.m. at the earliest. This hotel chain has facilities in other cities and we would stay with them if possible. If we go to Barcelona again we would definitely stay here.

Great location, clean comfortable rooms...quiet at the rear of the hotel....Could not have chosen a better hotel & orbitz had the best price. At times big guy at front desk very unfriendy...more interested in reading news paper

Dear Bill and Marcia, Thank you for your comments. I´m glad to read that our location was convenient for your Barcelona plans. I would like to take this opportunity to explain the Citadines concept to you; as an Apart´hotel our services are different from the ones of a normal hotel, to give our guest the freedom to choose which services they want. Kind regards,
