The room rate was excellent, the staff was very friendly and helpful. However: the hallways on the bottom floor smelled of stale cigarette smoke, the card reader to the door on the poolside of the hotel was very persnickety, the room was small with a couple of tears/holes in the wallpaper on the right wall, the TV reception was snowy on several channels, the cover to the thermostat on the air conditioning unit was missing, and the bathroom tile was stained in a few places. For the room rate per day, it will do for a couple of nights, but it is clearly an older property in need of further renovation. The Quality Inn that I stayed at in East Haven, CT was much more modern, spacious, and cleaner.

Overall, this property is rather old. It has has some renovation but the halls have an old smell to them as well as the rooms. The beds are not comfortable. Here's a trick...if you are going to stay long term, go to Walmart and get a foam mattress pad and it really helps. I was staying here a week and didn't want to move all of my stuff to another hotel, so this is what I did and it definitely helped. The rooms are ok, but dated. Shower is ok but also has hot water temps that don't stay even. (hot and cold tells me old plumbing that is in need of repair). Walls are very thin, so I recommend a room on the 3rd floor due to noise. I stay at a lot of Quality and Comfort Inns because I'm a platinum member and it just pays to get a free room if you stay with the same brand. This particular Quality was less than great, but if your looking for something cheap for 1 night or even 2, this may be the answer for you.

My parents, husband, and 2 cats had to leave south florida quickly due to Irma. Got a reservation at this hotel quickly. While the rooms are basic, i will note each room had two fridges, two microwaves, and super large bathroom with huge tub. Free wifi and free breakfast (waffle station!) very pet friendly. Plus, front staff very laid back and helpful. This place is not some luxe hotel but for our purposes, which was refuge from a hurricane, it was a warm and hospitable haven.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel between 23rd August to 27th August- room fully pre paid. We were not expecting anything extravagant but it was very distressful to find a massive cockroach in our bathroom our second morning- not dead at all but very much alive. Fortunately my husband killed the roach and we took it down to Front Desk. We asked the Front Desk to tell the Manager "we are greatly displeased" We got a call much later from same Front Desk(not the Manager) asking if we wanted to switch rooms. The fact is if one room has a cockroach, what is the assurance that another room doesn't? We declined to switch room but re-iterated we are displeased. When I asked if room change was all the Manager offered, Front desk replies "Yes". As a former Front Desk person myself, I know the implication of a guest leaving your hotel displeased. One would have excpected the Manager to offer some discounts or at least points! In this case, the Manager could not even call to apologise himself! The last time I saw such a large cockroach was 10years ago, I was nauseated all day, had spit in my mouth all day and I could not eat as I could not get the picture of the roach out of my mind and to top that, our complaint was ignored by the Manager. Fastforward to 1st september, I tried to call Corporate (Choice Hotels) to complain, I called repeatedly between 7.50 am up until 8.10 am and my calls were never picked. Guess why? Normal Business hours is 7am to 9pm!!! Is 7.50am not after 7 am? I can't deal with that. If you are not averse to roaches and managers that ignore your complaint, by all means, go ahead

We stay at Quality Inns pretty often, they are no frills, but suffice. We were in town for one night and the location close to the ballpark was great. So many of the reviews said they had great service and were given a welcome basket upon arrival. We were there celebrating our anniversary and going to the ball game, so I put on the reservation "Can we have a room with a nice view, we are celebrating our anniversary." Well, I guess I expected a welcome basket, but we didn't get one and our view was literally of a brick wall. We must have had some corner room that, I am not kidding, faced a brick wall about 5 feet away from our window. Now, I could let it go, to not have gotten a welcome basket, and to not have a great view. After all, there might not be much of a view from any room. BUT the carpet was not vacuumed. There was stuff everywhere, I don't know what it was, shredded paper, or something, but it wasn't vacuumed. I usually wear my slippers in a hotel room anyway, but in this case, I REALLY needed to wear my slippers. Also, I am REALLY not picky about food, I am fine with the basics, but the eggs had a weird flavor to them, maybe frost bite, or something. Again, I am SO not picky on food at chain hotels, but I couldn't take a second bite, I had to just eat oatmeal. I also wish I could say the guy at the front desk was joyful and warm, he wasn't. He was fine, just kinda meh, not overly friendly. The rest of the room was clean, like the bathroom and nothing weird in the sheets. Maybe we didn't get a basket or a warm welcome because they could tell we were from Chicago and assumed we were Cub fans cheering against your local team, I don't know. But either way, the least I would expect is a vacuumed floor and edible eggs. I really really WANTED to like this hotel.

A friend and I made our way to Atlanta to see some baseball and this motel was located just minutes from suntrust park. Though 'well worn', or perhaps well loved, it suited our needs fine. The a/c did struggle during the night to 'keep up' with the georgia heat and humidity, but it did not result in us being uncomfortable. While my wife may have turned up her nose at the accommodations these two old 'road dogs' found it satisfactory for what we needed. Location, a good bed and free breakfast!

We stayed 3 nights for a softball tournament. Location was very convenient. Hotel is older and definitely dated - but was clean and comfortable. Positive - when we checked in the AC in our room wasn't working. Called to report and the person working the desk came up immediately with a key to the room next door and made sure all was ok. Negative - left my key in the room and was given another one without any kind of check on my ID.

Room was clean, staff helpful and friendly, good breakfast selection. Convenient to our destinations. It has been there a while, but they have kept it up nicely and were very helpful with directions, requests and suggestions.

Mixed feelings on this stay. The gentleman who was on the front desk at check in seemed a bit put out that he had to do his job. He didn't get out of his chair till he had to give me our room keys. Shortly after checking in and getting our bags into our room, we discovered our toilet would not stop running. I lifted the tank lid and was amazed at how rusted and corroded the inner workings were. Obviously very old. My wife went to the front desk and asked for it to be fixed, but was told (by a different gentleman, who was very understanding and helpful) maintenance was not available at that time, so they moved us to the room next door. The toilet worked fine. However, the next morning we discovered the coffee maker did not work, and the GFI outlet next to the sink was not working and could not be reset. We told the gentleman at the front desk, but it was not fixed during our 2-day stay One of two employees were responsive and helpful. The rooms that we had showed indications of inattentive upkeep. Not a good impression of Quality Inn or Choice Hotels.

We stayed one night here, needing a pet-friendly hotel near the new Braves stadium. The hotel is older but well kept. The staff was friendly and helpful. We arrived a few minutes before check-in time and had no trouble getting our room. Everything in the room was clean, comfortable, and in working order. Wireless internet was good. In the morning, the breakfast area was busy and the staff was struggling to keep up with restocking, but they did. Our main complaint was that the hallways and lobby smelled like smoke, though no problem within our room.
