Relaxing and beautiful rural experience. Five star restaurant and service. Rolling terrain might test those with disabilities, great for walking.

This property is near Hendersonville even though it comes up in the search for Asheville, it’s about 20 minutes outside the area. The resort really stands on its own and is quaint and cute. Staff is outstanding and the on site restaurant is 3 stars. Great location if you want to be out of the thick of things.

Quaint setting with older accommodations. Very quite and restfull. Seasons restaurant was excellent along with included breakfast.

Location is nice. The lodge rooms were OK, bathroom was very small and the water heater did not work very well - constant hot then cold. The breakfast was excellent!

Complaints: Could not control individual room temperatures. Temperature was controlled by the main thermostat in the hallway. When we arrived on Friday evening, the temperature was 60 degrees. Called maintenance and they responded quickly adjusting the temperature. When we returned after dinner, the temperature was 80 degrees; called maintenance and the temperature was readjusted to a comfortable setting. Saturday evening the temperature was at 68 degrees. Did not want to call maintenance again. Did not pay $279/night to be uncomfortable. The guests in the next room to us had the same problem with room temperature because they checked out when we checked out and they voiced the same complaint. (By the way, I am on Warfarin which affects body temperature.) Suggestions: There should be individual thermostats in each room. It would be very easy for the cleaning stall to check the setting when a guest checks out of the room. We stayed in a part of the resort called Woodward House. There should be a map of the room locations for the Woodward House for each guest. I found our room because I happened to locate some of the cleaning personnel and one them showed me the room location. Praises: The staff were very cordial and accommodating and helpful. The food and the service at the restaurant was excellent.

Electronic door lock mechanism failed.... Unable to use room from about 4:20 pm until about 7:15 pm Management refused request to move us to another room even though there were vacant rooms in the wing. I am surprised that management did not immediately offer another room after the second key encoding failed . Management refused any inconvenience remuneration because reservation was made via third party (Orbitz) The maintenance tech was pleasant, finally had to replace the entire lock assembly
