Hotel Los Lagos Spa & Resort
"Lovely hotel with amazing pools including multiple warm/hot spring pools & a great pool bar, along with cooler pools with slides. Breakfast is a buffet with plenty of selection including continental and local options. Eggs made freshly to your requirements. Lunch and evening food is acceptable. We felt the food & drinks prices across the hotel were a little expensive. Rooms were excellent; I noted some reviews suggest dated rooms. I think it depends where you stay. We had a deluxe room which was very spacious modern and had a lovely balcony. It appeared the more expensive rooms are higher up the complex with better views. Our room was towards the top of the steep hill. A free shuttle operated always and dropped you at your room. I walked once which wasn’t too far, but with kids it was easier to get the shuttle. I would recommend the hotel; I feel it is a sweet spot between lesser options and the top end premium hotels which I doubt offer much more for a significantly higher premium. View of Arenal Volcano was exceptional from the hotel (if you are lucky enough to see it without cloud cover!)"

Volcano Lodge Hotel & Thermal Experience
"Breakfast goes from 6:40am-10:00am. great selection of food from rice, beans, chilaquiles, meats, plantains, fruit, cereals, there's even an omlette station and waffle station. Tea selections include black, green and herbal. Hot coffee and hot milk available as well. Juices usually were orange and some type of red (our guess was papaya). Filling because it is all you can eat. "
