Love it. Beautiful and rustic place in the heart of Arenal.

The view of the volcano is spectacular. The staff is attentive, generous and respectful.

Views on the property and from the room were beautiful. Really enjoyed the morning walks and endless trails to waterfall, bridge .. etc. Pool and hot tub were situated perfectly between the breathtaking views. Breakfast was ample, good and had a few choices. On the negative the room had a few bugs in there spiders and other interesting flies and bugs. Small ants and geckos were there but it was more of a nuisance.. despite the bugs we did sleep well and enjoyed the balcony views on a daily basis surely will miss it a lot !!!

The property was exceptional! The staff were exceptional! The only thing that might have been better was if we had an a/c and refrigerator in our room.

We stayed two nights in a Smithsonian room and two nights in a standard room. The Smithsonian was amazing in terms of setting, volcano views, walking distance to amenities and overall size. The standard room was fine, but was not walking distance to anything. We had to drive up the hill for breakfast.

Nice location. Enjoyed the hikes on the lodge property.

The hotel is in a beautiful location, and the free guided hike was a bonus. The staff was welcoming and friendly. The rooms were clean and spacious enough. There is no air conditioning, but the ceiling fan provided some relief. It wasn't really hot; it was pretty humid, though. My one nitpick is that the bed is rock hard. Combined with the humidity, it was a little difficult to sleep.

Absolutely beautiful grounds, informative included tour in the morning, the frog pond was amazing at night, take a low light flashlight. There were Howler monkeys on our balcony with hummingbirds whizzing around and a breathtaking view of the volcano from the balcony. Loved the no TV, the sounds of the animals and scent of flowers everywhere. The boys enjoyed the chess in the lobby, the observation tower and going off on their own, which is not adivsed unless older as there are snakes in the park. Not your 5 star resort but for 1 nt in the Area we were looking for wildlife viewing and adrenaline!

Amazing hotel at the base of Aneral volcano. Hiking trails & nature opportunities were outstanding. Staff was extremely helpful & welcoming! Rooms were spacious & clean! Food was very good & reasonably priced! Overall an outstanding stay in a beautiful place!

The location & setting if this lodge is stunning. It is right at the base of the great volcano. The hotel gardens are sprawling with abundant birds. The restaurant serves delicious meals. They offer shuttle services to the city. However, the frequency is not great. Loved the stay. Will be back.

Best hotel we stayed at in Costa Rica. Great for nature lovers.

Really a great place and price. Wonderful hiking on the grounds within the Arenal Volcano National Park. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. Good food, a little pricey. Nice location unless you want to be closer to La Fortuna and all of it’s associated attractions. Highly recommended!

All about the view. Room was spotless and ample, but a sitting area in the superior rooms would be nice. We had the best view on the property. Restaurant is just okay. All the staff were fantastic.

Three adults stayed comfortably in a paradise like setting. Friendly service. Good food.

This lodge was wonderful! It is the only hotel actually located within the Arenal National Park. The views are simply spectacular and can't be beat. The lodge also offers many hiking trails (including waterfall trail), and the sounds of birds, monkeys, frogs, etc can be heard all day long- which makes for a very nice rainforest experience. The staff were very kind and helpful. The restaurant was also very good and convenient for evening dining. Our stay was very comfortable and we enjoyed every minute of it!

Dear Valued Guest, Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay at our lodge. We are delighted to read that you enjoyed your stay at our hotel. With that said, we are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with bugs during your time at the property. Unfortunately, insects are an unavoidable aspect of nature here in the rainforest. Although our staff takes measures to clean the rooms of unwanted visitors every day and the rooms are sealed with screens on the doors and windows, little bugs find a way to get in. The presence of these insects is generally higher in the rainy season when they are looking for shelter from the weather. With that said, our staff is always available to help relocate any uninvited guests from your room to a more suitable location. Once again, thank you for sharing some notes about your experience at the lodge, we hope to see you again soon! Austin G. Public Relations Manager

Hola Cari, Thank you so much for taking the time to review your recent stay at our lodge. Although we are glad you enjoyed the majority of the aspects about your stay. We would like to apologize for the discomfort of your bed. Shortly after your stay, we completed our renovation of all of the mattresses at the hotel. We are confident that our new mattresses will be much more pleasing to our guests, we are sorry this change was not ready in time for your stay.
