Rainforest shower and ambiance!!! I usually don’t place review but I had too Best experience

My wife and I spent a week at Lost Iguana for our honeymoon and had a wonderful experience. The resort is a tropical garden with curated plants and a wide variety of wildlife including hummingbirds, butterflies, tree frogs, lizards, and toucans. Only a few miles from the La Fortuna strip, Lost Iguana has the character of a tropical getaway within easy reach of hot springs, adventure tours, and other attractions. The entire staff was welcoming, responsive, and very accommodating. Our room was immaculate and the view of Arenal Volcano was inspiring and exactly as advertised. The food at the resort restaurant exceeded expectations and was fairly priced. We loved the on-site hike through rainforest and gardens, and the heated pool with swim-up bar was a nice way to wind down. Mistico Park with a “hanging bridges” tour is about a quarter mile away and well worth the visit. For anyone seeking a luxurious experience within a natural tropical setting, I highly recommend staying at Lost Iguana.

The view of the volcano is absolutely amazing! Property is perfect size, not too big. Close proximity to Hanging Bridges and hiking trail. Lost Iguana is just a great place to relax and take in the surrounding nature.

The warm swim up bar was nice. The bartender was very entertaining. Food was good. It was a little awkward that the staff makes you feel like an intruder if you don’t have a reservation, despite having more open than occupied tables. It would be better if they would drop the pretentious attitude that is so contrary to Costa Rica.

What a stunning resort. A little less expensive than the nearby resorts, but the views from here cannot be beat. Simply stunning. This wound up being our favorite stop on the entire trip to Costa Rica.

Hotel staff was very poilte and friendly. The breakfast was delicious. What I didn’t like was the spotty to almost none WiFi service. Our house keeper never left us soap. We had to call the front desk one night and another night I had to leave the house keeper a note to leave us soap. We stayed in an luxury suite with an outdoor shower, we loved it however, there was no door to separate the bathroom and the outdoor shower therefore, we had all kinds of insects inside of our bathroom the next morning. We also lost power one night and the hotel has no generators. Lastly, our room stayed constantly damp and humid. Now I understand we were in a rainforest, I want the rainforest outside not inside of my room. Our experience wasn’t horrible but not great.

Beautiful view of the volcán, peaceful place and close by different tours

The hote is definitely unique, nestled on top of a mountain with the most spectacular view of the Arenal volcano. We rented a car & were able to follow the gps all of the way there from San Jose Airport. It is right inside of the jungle, so definitely a one-of-a-kind experience. You can hear all of the animals at night & since sunrise is at 5am, it behooves you to close the curtains at night. We stayed in a luxury suite with the outdoor shower as well as a jacuzzi tub on the back porch, which was awesome! Service was great everywhere we went, from the reception/lobby area to the wet bar & the restaurant. The food & drinks we’re delicious. I’m Hispanic (Cuban background) & thought the food was absolutely amazing. Breakfast was great too, for being complimentary. It was buffet style & they have an omelet station & fresh juice variety as well. The Arenal area is part of the rainforest, so by default it is humid & rains at random intervals. We got very lucky & had no rain during all of our activities (we reserved a lot of tours/adventures in just 3 full days - about 3 per day). The hotel keeps large umbrellas in the rooms as well as by the pool & restaurant so you can grab one if you have to go anywhere else & not get wet. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking to be a bit more adventurous & get the real jungle feel. We got a great price too & loved our choice at the end. See the pictures attached, although it is all much more impressive in person.

We had a great stay at the Lost Iguana, we are a family of 5 and enjoyed the grounds. Were greeted everywhere by hummingbirds and gorgeous flora. One late afternoon post hike we ventured out to the pool to enjoy the happy hour and all received complimentary poolside mini-facials. What an unexpected treat- my girls (ages 7 &10) were over the moon! The staff was very attentive and kind.

The room is perfect, I love nature and the outdoor shower and tub are amazing. I can't stress enough how peaceful and beautiful the views are.

Amazing staff, beautiful secluded setting. Great for couples. Highly recommend.

Great ambience! Enjoyed spa, pool, restaurant, etc. on premises. Close to many tours that left from hotel. Nice balcony with a great view. Very relaxing!

Great out of the way hotel, fabulous view, great staff, wonderful restaurant and yet still close to many local activities.

Beautiful setting, exceptional service, and volcano views, far enough but not too far from the tourist trap surrounding La Fortuna. You can walk to the lovely Hsnging Gardens and the grounds of the resort are home to toucans, howler monkeys and many varieties of hummingbird. Highly recommend.

This hotel was great. Not only is it very close to the volcano, all the rooms have a view of the volcano. The staff is excellent and the property it's nestled in a little mountain that allows for all kinds of wildlife to show up. My kids got a kick of seeing all the different birds including Tucans and a black wild turkey. We loved our experience there. The pools are great (one hot one cold) with a swim up bar with hi specials and great food. I was impressed with Lost Iguana.

Great hotel and amazing views. We enjoyed our stay and will back.

If you are looking for a hotel away from everything and in the rainforest, this is a great option. The view from our back porch was of the volcano, and was spectacular! We had a lot of ants come into our room, but we called the front desk and they came and sprayed right away, which took care of the problem. Restaurant was good and staff was helpful and friendly. Our spa experience was wonderful. Also, it is just a few minutes away from the hanging bridges.
