Good location and friendly staff. They were able to check me in early which was nice. Overall, a very pleasant experience.

An older Amsterdam hotel room. Would not want to stay here during the summer, no air conditioning in our room. Though there is an elevator between floors there are stairs to deal with, so not the best choice for unfit seniors.

Hotel is on a quiet street and is walking distance to all major attractions. Right next to Vondel park and the museums. Very close to a tram stop. Large and comfortable rooms with all the necessities.

The location sets the tone- close to Vondelpark and the Rijksmuseum. It may not appeal to those who have come to party, but it's a very nice place for anyone else.

I came in November to see the art, so this hotel was perfectly located within walking distance of the Rijksmuseum, Stedelijk, and van Gogh museums. Overall, it was fine. This hotel is comprised of 4 old Dutch houses, so the floor levels change as you walk from one house to another. There are stairs, as well as an elevator. Our small, clean room was right under the eaves on the top floor, with an eave going through our shower! The bathroom was spotlessly clean and the shower water was very hot. Our room was cozy even though it was cold and rainy outside: we had nice big radiators along the walls. The buffet breakfast, which was included, was served downstairs and was very good and filling: muesli, milk, yogurt, eggs, sausage, hot chocolate, bread, cheese and meat. The staff was very friendly and competent, and there were free apples at the front desk, as well as free access to a PC with Internet access. My only complaint is totally unrelated to the hotel: during our last week, there was very loud construction going on very close to the hotel from 8 a.m. to around 4 p.m. So we just made a point to be away during those hours. But overall, I would stay here again.

Love Amsterdam and this hotel was a great middle ground to see everything.

Close to many attractions, you can never g wrong with a brand name hotel, very good staff, very polite, walking distance (15mins) from almost everything, its in between canals, PLUS!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay and would certainly stay at this hotel again, the location is close to the tram and bus stops as well as main museums. The staff was extremely accommodating and the breakfast was great.

We had a great stay, the location was perfect, close to museums, shopping and tons of restaurants. Not too many frills but I don't spend time in the room except for sleeping anyway, the beds were comfortable.

Minutes away from the Hard Rock and Leidse Square! Walking distance to most attractions. Great Hotel for your buck!

We have returned to this hotel several times now, because of its fabulous location AND because the staff is so nice. This time our room was a bit smaller but still comfy. Even though this hotel is in the very heart of the city, it is very quiet and all we hear, in the morning, is the chorus of birds. The staff is extremely outgoing and helpful. The great breakfast buffet is a little pricey - 10.- euros on top of the cost of the room - but it is well worth it.

We enjoyed 'discovering' this hotel in a perfect location. Right in downtown Amsterdam, it is very quiet but walking distance to everything. Nice breakfast, clean beds. We will come back!

We loved discovering this very quiet oasis in the bustling centre of the city. Large, clean room, luggage storage, great pillows and linens, nice people and excellent breakfast buffet. We will be back.

I stayed for three nights at a very low cost (~60 USD/night). The staff was friendly. The hotel itself is pretty tired looking. Room was a little small, but clean. Shower and sink tended to get clogged, but would eventually drain. The hotel is on a surprisingly quiet street. I had no trouble falling asleep at night. The best part is the location. It's only 5 minutes from the Rijk, Van Gogh, and Stedelijk museums. The Liedesplein area is a little touristy, but still fun to walk around and grab a drink. The tram runs only a block away. Definitely worth staying here for such a cheap price.

i love location train is close and store staff was ok

This is what you would expect from a Best Western. Nothing outstanding, but not bad for the price.

The amenities are average but the location is perfect. No free Wi-Fi

The Best Western Leidse Sqaure, Amsterdam would be nothing out of the ordinary but for one thing: location. It close proximity to museums, shopping, restaurants, nightlife, and mass transporation make this hotel an excellent value.

Location and price was most important for us. We walked to Rijksmuseum, Ann Frank House, and on to Dam Square and the Central Train Station. A good variety of restaurants available around Leidens Square. Room was ready when we arrived in the early afternoon and had not requested an early checkin. Bath was a little cramped, but not unusual for a European hotel.

We stayed for two nights, giving us two days to try to see everything in Amsterdam. With this location and a 48-hour tram pass, we managed to see a lot! It's a two minute walk from the Leidseplein tram station and the gates of Vondelpark, and a quick tram ride will get you within blocks of anything you're looking to see in town. When you come back to crash, the Best Western is excellent--spacious, clean, and quiet. The convenience of being two minutes from the square and the main road through the south and west parts of the city is wonderful--and so is being set back from each just enough to feel like you've exited the scrum. I wasn't expecting to be this enthusiastic about the BW, but it was a great place to stay!
