Holiday Inn Amsterdam - Arena Towers4.0 out of 5.0

The hotel is generally a 3* one but in my opinion it definitely could be a 4*. The location is pretty good, there is a train/metro/bus station in 5 minutes walk and from there you can easily reach the airport (20 minutes) and the city center (15 minutes) as well. Our room was really nice and quite big with a lot of windows and with perfect drapes so you can easily make darkness in the room :) The bathroom was clean and they change towels every day (what is not necessary for me but they did it) but we couldn't find the toilet brush :) The continental breakfast is average and it's the same every day but we never left hungry- But they have gluten-free bread and lactose-free soy milk so they really deserve a big red point for these! :) On the whole we had a perfect stay there at all points so I definitely would choose them again!
We spent 4 nights in the Holiday Inn Express part of the hotel and we were fully satisfied. The personal was kind, the room was clean and big enough. We had the luck to sleep in a room at the very corner of the building, thanks to the many windows we had a great view outside. I only missed a bit more cabinet. But we have 2 pillows per person, 1 soft and 1 firm, so we could choose. The location of the hotel is very good, the metro and railway station are 3 minutes away on foot. The breakfast was very good, although the offer was the same every day. They could also serve gluten free bread for my boyfriend.
The hotel was super close to the Amsterdam Arena (it was just across the road, I could see it from the hotel window!) The staff were also very friendly and chatty and helped me with any queries I had. The rooms were also very clean, fresh and tidy. There was also a great variety of food for breakfast. Around the hotel, there were lots of facilities and shops so you didn't need to walk very far. Plus the train station is only 5 - 10 mins away and the trains run regularly to Amsterdam city center.
The hotel is close to the ArenA Stadium. They shared the same location with the Holiday Inn Express. The hotel itself seem very new and fresh. As an IHG Platinum, I was upgraded to bigger room; not sure what type of the room but it is on the corner. It even has their own living room. I chose welcome drinks and snacks as Platinum amenity and it was good too. Kinda refreshing after arriving at the hotel. The breakfast was very good. There are plenty of choice and the taste was good. The staffs were courteous; for both the check-in and check-out. The hotel is within walking distance to the Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station; probably around 700m or 8-10 minutes walking; or 15 minutes if you carry your baggage. Surely would recommend anyone to book the hotel.
The hotel is conveniently close to Bjilmer Arena metro and train station and Arena Bullevard with its shopping opportunities, the stadium, the live music arena and the restaurants. Comfortable and well-equipped rooms, plenty of breakfast options (you can even squeeze your own juice), really helpful staff.
This is a affordable way to stay in Amsterdam, near to the main subway line. along with an Amsterdam pass, subway -streetcars-museums at one price, you don't have to break the bank to stay here. The hotel itself is very plain no frills.
The Holiday Inn Arena is under one roof with the Holiday Inn Express - sharing parking lot and practically one entrance. It is walking distance from Ziggo Dome, Villa Arena and the Johan Cruijff stadium. Also the A2/A10 Amsterdam ringroad can very quickly be reached from the hotel. Entrance for parking is actually on the Haaksbergweg - handy to know if you are using GPS. Parking fee is a solid 20 euros and it is enforced - don't think there is a way to sneak off the lot without first paying that. The hotel is very fresh and comfortable, with a really nice bar/lounge/restaurant area on the eerste verdieping (American: second floor). The room is quite comfortable and appears to be decently soundproofed. An irritant is a blue LED light quite close to your pillow - I used a tissue to quench it a bit.
Visited this hotel with 3 friends for a weekend break on the 31st of March. As it was a last minute plan, it was hard to find a rooms in a hotel in central of Amsterdam, therefore we had to go for a room for 4 in Holiday Inn a bit further from central. We used Uber to get to central and back, therefore it worked out quite well, considering a good price of the hotel. The hotel is average and a good quality for money. Rooms are modern and clean which was all that needed. Room for 4 was a good size for us. Not much of a customer service interaction throughout the stay. Late night room service menu is quite poor, but there aren't any other places around the hotel to get food at night. As we were arriving after midnight, we called a few hours before, to acknowledge that we are coming late and requested 2 single duvets for one of double beds and 2 toothbrushes. This was never made for us. On the second day, at around 5pm, I was having a nap, when two people dressed in suits just walked in the room. I half through woke up, thinking it's my friends who came back and saw two unknown men in the room. Once noticing me, they quickly left. No sorry, no nothing. Don't even know if they were hotel staff or other guests. That really scared me and made me doubt the security of staying in Holiday Inn. On the good note, they have Starbucks coffee on the 1st floor, seating area on a terrace and a car park, which was very useful for us. Not sure if I would be coming back to the hotel, it was ok for the money we paid, we didn't expect much from it, but the issue with people walking in during my sleep, turned me off.
Right on the main tube line into central Amsterdam - this is a great hotel to get away from the hustle and bustle of Amsterdam which is heaving. Rooms were spacious and well equipped. My daughter ate for free and the breakfast was well worth it. Dinner was also lovely and the staff very attentive to my 9 year olds wishes regarding TV. Would use again.
Stayed here several times end of 2016, early 2017. My positives and negatives: + Hotel rooms are clear. + Friendly staff. + Location is good, near the Amsterdam Arena public transport hub that offers train, metro and bus connections. + Really like the restaurant/bar area to have dinner or a coffee (they offer Starbucks coffee). Plenty of power sockets, nooks to work or larger tables to meet. +/- Holiday Inn restaurant food is the same everywhere. It is fine however.
