I stayed for Eurovision In Concert at AFAS Live on 14th April. I was in a rush when I arrived at the hotel, and had just had a rubbish journey from the UK so was really quite stressed, but the staff were fantastic as ever. The receptionist who checked me in was absolutely lovely, and gave me a room on the 15th floor when I mentioned I preferred higher up rooms if possible, a bonus I really wasn't expecting. She was so lovely too, and taught me a few basic bits of useful Dutch when I asked how to say thank you etc haha!!! The room was pretty basic, but it's just exactly what I needed. The bathroom was a stunner, really nice facilities in there, huge shower etc. After spending all day in the press room, then all evening at the event well into the wee hours of the morning, the seriously comfortable bed was perfection. It was DELIGHTFUL. I sadly can't review the breakfast because even though I had it included, me and my friend had drank too much the night before and could barely exist as humans until after breakfast had finished...oops. All in all, a really great hotel for a decent price, with marvellous staff and room facilities. Can't fault it. If EiC is at AFAS again next year, I will be booking this hotel without hesitation (by the way for anyone reading this for any events at the arenas...it really is a 2 minute walk, if that.)
Excellent Hotel. Receptionist good and available. Careful cleaning of large comfortable rooms with extraordinary bathrooms. Excellent breakfast buffet. The only negative note is the lack of a minibar in the rooms which affects the purchase of a wide range of very expensive products in the hall: 33 cl of water 3 Euro! For the rest is a modern hotel, very nice kept and highly recommended also because the public services are comfortable and efficient. Prices ok
We stayed here in February prior to seeing Liam Gallagher at the arena. The hotel was in walking distance from the arena and the train station where you could get a 10 minute train into Amsterdam. Rooms were really clean, spacious and good value for money! The only thing is if you are going out trains stop running at 12 at night meaning it’s a taxi ride home which is around €50
We had a two night stay here, 7 guys to see the sights of Amsterdam. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from the train, metro and bus station. Trains are about every 6 minutes and you can be in the centre of Amsterdam in about 10 to 15 minutes. We didn’t really find much to do in the local area other than a couple of bars, but to be honest we weren’t really there long enough to explore and we preferred to head off in to the city. We found the hotel staff friendly and helpful and the buffet continental style breakfast fresh and varied and excellent coffee. The rooms was clean, comfortable and bright. Would definitely stay here again
We stayed for 2 nights Friday and Saturday attending a concert on Saturday in Ziggo Dome. Very convenient but also easy to get to the centre of Amsterdam. The hotel is new, clean and nicely decorated. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was ok. Breakfast was very good. I rate this hotel lower because of disturbance during the last night when a party in the room next to us was ongoing till after 24.00 and no staff was around. I think a hotel security should check around often enough. We did not complain but for us traveling a lot this was rather shocking.
I’m the room 1303, and I wish to run away from here! I choose this hotel to celebrate the anniversary with my boyfriend, until here, everything’s ok... The room is really nice, but is the only thing that make me give this rating. Beside the room, I don’t found any kindness on the employee and for the second time it seems that they’re playing with me or they just don’t know the times of the bars/restaurants of the Holliday Inn! I went in the 2nd floor for a cappuccino and over there the lady send me to the level 0, because there’s where the drinks are. I came downstairs and the man on the reception told me that the bar there is closed and to have a hot drink I need to go to the level one (here we go again). I went up and I ask for a cappuccino, they told me that the Starbucks close 10pm (that’s ok, I understand) so I order a coke with Malibu... she sale the bottles and she told me that she don’t have enough so I need to go to the level two! WHAT? This seems like a Russian roulette... this is the service that you provide to your guests? I’m sorry, but it’s very poor. I wish never had choose this hotel and I just want this to finish. NEVER AGAIN
Stayed here for 4 nights. Location is good for Bijlmer arena and the station which has direct trains to both Amsterdam central and schiphol airport. Room comfortable, has a reasonable tv and a mini fridge. The Holiday Inn Express in the same building is better value for money
Accommodation was clean and of a good standard. What let the experience down was the food in the restaurant; breakfast was ok, but the quality of food for evening dinner (over 2 nights) was pretty poor..... disappointing for a hotel that charges a weekday rate of just under €250 per night....I've given it a "3" overall, the food was more like "2" at best ....
Hotel convenientely located next to the Arena, rooms are simple but clean and functional, bathroom is small but with a large shower. Beware of the restaurant on the first floor, Food is dull, service is horrible.
Very good and efficient for accommodation and breakfast. We had dinner there on the night of our concert and that was quite slow to arrive to the point of being quite worried we wouldn't get to finish it in time . The food itself was excellent, but they clearly didn't have enough staff on duty. I would definitely stay there again.
