Holiday Inn Amsterdam - Arena Towers4.0 out of 5.0

No opening windows but air con on low so no problems. The walls in our room were scuffed in several places and could have done with cleaning off, or repainting. There was confusion when booking into the hotel as the Holiday Inn and the Holiday Inn Express both use the same front door so it was a little bit confusing but the staff were great. Fabulous hotel for a 3 star hotel. Beds really comfy, food excellent, train station close by and easy to negotiate for city centre. Lovely nice big shower. The best bit for us after 3 weeks of travelling round Europe, BBC1 on the TV.
During our trip to Amsterdam we stayed there for 5 nights. Amazing hotel with spacious elegant rooms, huge comfortable bed (I have ordered usual double bed, but was free of charge given king-size bed!). After this stay I always try to stay in Holiday Inn but as for now other Holiday Inn hotels have had less quality. It is located rather far from center to go on foot but in only 5 or 6 underground stations..
Fantastic place to stay just outside the city centre. Only 15mins on the regular metro straight to Amsterdam central. Staff are brilliant. Myra is extremely helpful warm welcoming and very friendly. An asset to the hotel.
A loyal retournee: lucky to get an executive room again (full fridge!). Good beds: excellent spacious bathrooms but breakfast service was somewhat rude. Not sure whether I caught her on a bad day, but the supervisor seemed more gulag material when interrogating me when all I did was get "de Telegraaf".... bar team in evening is top though!
From the moment we arrived every single member of staff made us feel beyond welcome. I booked a trip to Amsterdam for my partner's birthday and asked for some sort of decor to be arranged. When we arrived in the room the hotel went out of their way to blow balloons up and even write him a birthday card which was so greatly appreciated. The room was so clean, the members of staff at the bar/restaurant were so friendly and the lady when we checked out was also really kind and friendly I wish that I remembered her name. The hotel is a few stops away from the city centre and only takes 10/15 minutes with pretty good deals on public transport. Couldn't fault this hotel, it made our trip 10x better.
The hotel is generally a 3* one but in my opinion it definitely could be a 4*. The location is pretty good, there is a train/metro/bus station in 5 minutes walk and from there you can easily reach the airport (20 minutes) and the city center (15 minutes) as well. Our room was really nice and quite big with a lot of windows and with perfect drapes so you can easily make darkness in the room :) The bathroom was clean and they change towels every day (what is not necessary for me but they did it) but we couldn't find the toilet brush :) The continental breakfast is average and it's the same every day but we never left hungry- But they have gluten-free bread and lactose-free soy milk so they really deserve a big red point for these! :) On the whole we had a perfect stay there at all points so I definitely would choose them again!
The hotel was super close to the Amsterdam Arena (it was just across the road, I could see it from the hotel window!) The staff were also very friendly and chatty and helped me with any queries I had. The rooms were also very clean, fresh and tidy. There was also a great variety of food for breakfast. Around the hotel, there were lots of facilities and shops so you didn't need to walk very far. Plus the train station is only 5 - 10 mins away and the trains run regularly to Amsterdam city center.
The hotel is close to the ArenA Stadium. They shared the same location with the Holiday Inn Express. The hotel itself seem very new and fresh. As an IHG Platinum, I was upgraded to bigger room; not sure what type of the room but it is on the corner. It even has their own living room. I chose welcome drinks and snacks as Platinum amenity and it was good too. Kinda refreshing after arriving at the hotel. The breakfast was very good. There are plenty of choice and the taste was good. The staffs were courteous; for both the check-in and check-out. The hotel is within walking distance to the Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA station; probably around 700m or 8-10 minutes walking; or 15 minutes if you carry your baggage. Surely would recommend anyone to book the hotel.
The hotel is conveniently close to Bjilmer Arena metro and train station and Arena Bullevard with its shopping opportunities, the stadium, the live music arena and the restaurants. Comfortable and well-equipped rooms, plenty of breakfast options (you can even squeeze your own juice), really helpful staff.
This is a affordable way to stay in Amsterdam, near to the main subway line. along with an Amsterdam pass, subway -streetcars-museums at one price, you don't have to break the bank to stay here. The hotel itself is very plain no frills.
