Read the reviews for Hotel Roemer too before you book. It's their sister hotel a block and a half away which we got put into after they gave our room away at JL. They were very nice and apologized for it, gave us a free breakfast and offered a cab for the block and a half, but our room ended up being close to the street and right by the front door so it was noisy. Hotel has really soft and oddly shaped pillows my partner and I never could get comfortable with, although the room was larger than expected, as was the bathroom. Housekeeping was good as well. No clue how the room at JL would have compared, but after booking the room 6 months in advance it was a disappointing way to start our stay with the company. If you read the reviews for hotel roemer you will see others have had a similar experience. You can tell the staff tries very hard to please their guests, but we never got past the negative first impression

Stayed in this hotel for a week while attending conference at nearby Rijksmuseum. Couldn’t have had a better hotel. Small, quiet, lovely room (as large as in American hotels), restaurant room service was wonderful. Lovely bathroom with huge whirlpool tub. Great staff.

The bed and bedding were fabulous. The room was small but very nice and modern and quiet. The staff was great!!

What a wonderful hotel with a wonderful staff. Great location, easy to get to from the airport and walking distance to everything. Staff was amazing and did everything they could to make our stay pleasant. Nothing negative to say and would definitely stay here again.

Great location, quiet, clean room, away from the hustle and bustle. Unfortunately a lot of street construction going on during our stay that we weren't aware of when booking. The breakfast service was awesome but the food was only so-so.

The staff and room were very nice. Centrally located to all the museums as well as restaurants, canal tours and cafes. I wouldn't think twice about staying there again.

Loved this hotel! Very convenient and located near all the major museums. Staff was helpful. We checked in early after a long flight by upgrading our room for 20 euro per day. Lounge is open all day/night, which is very helpful when you have jetlag and your partner is sleeping. Highly recommend.

Great neighborhood and high style and design. Bathrooms are a bit tiny with shower drain in middle of floor, but very delightful shower. So sleek that there is nowhere in the bathroom for your "stuff." Pretty steep daily room charge for WiFi ( 8.8 euros) and breakfast. Would stay there again.

Lovely hotel and the service is very good. New and clean but the sink is in the bedroom and not in the bathroom. Worse of all there is no place to put shampoo or towels or clothes or whatever in the bathroom. Not well thought out. Great breakfast and very good restaurants and museums all within a few blocks. I feel it was a good value and would return

I enjoyed my stay at JL No. 76. The staff in particular, especially Andre and Virgil, were terrific and very welcoming and accommodating. The hotel location is in a safe neighborhood, not far from museums, and even though it is not on a canal, it is a short walk or tram. Facilities were definitely 4 star, and upgrades are worth it.

Hotel room was: average. Location was good and convenient and some good/cute little cafe's near, Vondelpark near, and the Van Gogh museum....my biggest issue was the staff in the AM....You could hear EVERYthing--above, below, next to you, hallways....I heard the maids every AM going in the rooms, knocking, etc. etc. This was usually at 9 am...Just annoying that I had to be up and awake by 9 am....Very overpriced. Very.
