Staff is super friendly and helpful. Rooms are spacious and were properly cleaned every day. Location is great. The hotel is located in the museum district and within walkable distance to city center. Also located in a quiet area so always had a good night sleep.

We arrived at 10am asking for early check in but the receptionist was strick about no rooms available until 3p.m. We visited the RUSK museum and returned about 2pm as it turned cold and rainy. About 2:30 the receptionist checked in 3 couples. Then at 3pm I asked about our room and was told still not available. Well they found a room fast across the street No.55 a nice young man offered to show us to our room. He helped me carry my luggage up the first 10 narrow steps to the door but the the elevator did not work. He carried the luggage up another 53 narrow steps in a circular airless winding stair well to the 3rd floor. I being a senior citizen with asthma had to sit down in the hallway to catch my breath. On the day we had a taxi waiting to return to the airport at 6 a.m. the elevator again was not working. I had to throw my luggage down 53 stairs. If you are not young and in excellent condition. I would not recommend this Hotel. Also they charge your credit card $50 in advance just incase you use the mini bar then refund it if you do not.

Great location, friendly staff and nice room! I'd definitely stay here again!

The room and bathroom were much larger than we anticipated (rooms can generally be small in Europe); however, our room was in the "newer" building (across the street from the lobby; room 48) and it was quite fantastic! I was sad we only stayed for one night! I would definitely return and stay there again. The hotel is in a nice neighborhood near the outer canal; it's a nice, quite, and very cute area but very close to shops, restaurants, trams, etc. I absolutely loved the area -- very charming and not far from anything!

Room was dirty, cleaning staff occupies elevator exit leaving brooms and vacuum cleaners blocking the exit, pretty bad experience

Located right in the heart of the action near the trams, tons of restaurants, bars; and the casino. The hotel room was small but in keeping with others that are in the same price range. The staff gave me directions, offered to lend me an umbrella; and were very friendly.

Great hotel. Very good location. Everything you need is within walking distance. Great staff. Awesome room, really enjoyed the spa tub in the room.

My husband and I had a great stay at the Roemer Hotel in Amsterdam. The hotel was very easy to find (in a city where locations can be notoriously difficult to find). We had a very nice room on the 1st floor. The room was small (typical for Europe), but very comfortable. There were multiple seating areas, in addition to the beds. The beds were two separate bed (a set-up I love) and were very comfortable. However, the best feature of the room was the bathroom. The decor was amazing and it was so nice to have a hot tub, especially since it rained nearly the whole time we were there. There were several grocery stores within close proximity and the area was near an area with a lot of bars, cafes, restaurants, etc., but the hotel itself was on a nice, quiet street. I would definitely recommend this property.

We couldn't have picked a better place to stay for our first trip to Amsterdam. We thought the location would be a little far from all of the main attractions and if that is what you are going for then you might be a little disappointed. But for us it was in the best location. It seemed close enough to the tourist attractions we wanted to see but in a clean and quiet part of town that made the overall experience much better. The proximity to the first few canals and the main museum area made it perfect for quick stops to refuel and relax during our walking excursions and the staff were extremely helpful in helping us find places to experience that were more local and of much better quality than the main tourist drags. We highly recommend the Roemer hotel for anyone visiting Amsterdam for a short of even longer stay.

We couldn't find a better location than the Roemer - close to shopping, the museum district and lots of great restaurants. We had a quick stay as we were returning from a Viking River Cruise but the hotel was fantastic and we were able to enjoy our last few days in Amsterdam. I strongly recommend this hotel!

Stayed 3nites prior to a cruise. Great location 8' walk from museums. Warm and helpful staff.

The location is just amazing, few blocks behind the leidseplein and the staff was great and very nice. The hotel was just fine and not more, coffee machine was broken, remote control didnt work and the room wasn't clean. We asked for a king size bed and we got twin beds forcing us to switch.

We stayed one night here on our way to a bicycling tour through Holland. Excellent, clean accommodations with a modern artsy feel. Staff was super-friendly and location was perfect: one street over from the museum district and the shopping district. Would recommend to friends and would stay here again myself.

We were actually asked to stay at a sister hotel because the hotel was overbooked. It looked like a very nice place, and the staff was courteous to us and paid for our transportation to the other hotel, about 10 minutes away. I don't recall the name of the sister location, but it was excellent - big comfortable rooms and friendly service.

excellent room, staff was wonderful, particularly Joop and Lillian. location was in quiet neighborhood near park but only a short walk to museums and activities. lovely private garden and common areas.

This was a charming hotel near the museums in Amsterdam and and an easy walk from many attractions. Staff was superbly helpful and friendly. Pleasant garden to relax and have a drink. Very comfortable room and quiet for sleeping. We recommend it highly. Manager Joop was just wonderful.

what a lovely hotel with a superb location about a block away from the gorgeous Vondel Park. The staff was extremly helpful and the hotel provided rental vespas and bikes which came in very handy in the bike/vespa friendly town! the rooms very impeccible and large by european standards. i would highly recommend this hotel to anyone traveling to Amsterdam...and already have!

Our stay at the Hotel Roemer was excellent. After we checked in, we were told that our room was in the basement, which set off all sorts of red flags that our decent rate was too good to be true. However, when we saw the room, it was surprisingly big, especially the bathroom. It did not feel like a basement as there was a door that opened up onto the back patio and hence plenty of light. The only downside to the room was that there was a rather large spider perched on the base of the wall near the bed. Otherwise, the staff was top-notch. We asked whether we could use the computer in the lobby to buy tickets to the nearby museums online, and the person at the desk did everything for us, charging it to our room. Upon leaving, our train was not until 7 PM, and they were able to hold our (5) bags for 8 hours after checkout while we explored more of the city. The location is perfect, being right next to Leidseplein, the park, the Van Gogh and Rijksmuseum, shopping and transit to get around the rest of the city. We had a great stay overall!
