Looks amazing from the outside, especially at night but the rooms were a bit of a let down. After asking numerous times to have the heating turned up, it still did not warm up and we were there for 3 nights. The hotel is around a industry estate, however the train station is about 10-15mins walk and takes you straight into Amsterdam central, very convenient. If your planning to explore Amsterdam I would suggest booking something more central, Fletcher is perfect for business purposes. The restaurant and bar on the 17th floor is really nice. The food was amazing in the evening, plus we had brunch their too the next day which was also very nice, with a lovely view.
Hotel is great but not suitable if you want to be near the centre. Its in the middle of a kind of industrial estate .There is a shuttle (3 ER pp) to the nearest metro and then a 20min journey into Amsterdam. You can walk to the metro , its about a 10-15 minute walk. We stayed as we were attending a concert at the Ziggadome which is fairly near. The hotel its self was clean and comfortable. It is more suited to couples due to the shower in the middle of the room which was quite quirky. The bar had amazing views but the staff were a bit hit and miss. Finally the coffee machine in the room was great but it would have been nice to have a fridge.
I spent 2 days at the hotel for business meeting and accommodation over a weekend. The room was clean and once I figured out the shower ie how to turn it on, it was great. Yes it’s funky having a glass shower in the middle of the room but I know that at least one colleague was very uncomfortable with this. It was very windy when I stayed here and colleagues complained about the wind noise at night. I am a light sleeper and this did not worry me at all. The dinners and breakfasts were good, interesting food choices for dinner. Lunch was ok, sandwiches on large rolls, difficult to eat and messy. The food and beverage manager was very attentive and helped us with all our requests but the service in the bar and restaurant was very slow. Reception staff were helpful and efficient. I will definitely stay here again, I liked it very much and you are able to cycle into the city from here easily. Will definitely try it for a weekend away.
Can’t say I would recommend staying in this hotel, found majority of the staff to be quite unfriendly and unprofessional. Food in the bar was disappointing. The room itself was very clean, and tidied daily, found the pillows to be really uncomfortable and you cannot adjust the air con which got really annoying at night. Location is only ok, metro in approx 8min walk away. This is much more of a business hotel than anything else. I would look else where before thinking about staying here.
The iconic feature and almost futuristic style and design of the Fletcher hotel in Amsterdam zuidoost is definitely unmissable in any direction. Beautiful views from the rooms and that's all your money is worth at the end of the day. The check in was rather lackluster one gets the feeling other than being welcome. I suppose that is the future we are headed towards. If that's the case give me a self check in Bay. Making calls to the front desk to request for towels takes an hour and 8 phone calls later still didn't receive any. One can only hope the reason behind that is they were eco friendly being produced. Venture up to the sky bar on the 17th floor, once again breathtaking views and that's it. Might as well be self service I'd be more impressed if served at all. Food was cold and unappealing might as well have not bothered with it. All in all was the price worth the futuristic stay. I would say no
My boyfriend and I stayed in the Fletcher Hotel for one night as our flight back home had been cancelled. We were both looking forward to stayed here as the photos looked amazing. When we got to the hotel we were both disappointed. I agree with some of the other reviews regarding the reception staff, they aren’t overly friendly. We then went to our room which was on the 7th floor, the room was a bit of a let down. It was pretty small, we booked a double room but got 2 single beds pushed together with 2 single duvets, the toilet was like a public cubicle, no fridge (like our other hotel which was cheaper), views weren’t great although they were better at night and the shower isn’t great either, this is the main feature of the room yet it goes hot and cold and doesn’t drain very well so you need to be quick to stop it over flowing. We did notice a poster that said if you upgraded for €20 per night you got to stay in the executive rooms which claim to have better views which I believe they probably do. The hotel apparently run a shuttle to and from the Metro station which is the only transportation around Amsterdam which we caught once for €3 euros per person but every time we wanted to use it after that they claimed it wasn’t available, despite the mini bus being sat outside and it’s the reception staff that drive it! Also don’t be fooled when they tell you a taxi is the same price as the mini bus as it isn’t. It’s €10 in a taxi, you can walk it in about 15 minutes maybe a little more but the area is undesirable to say the least. If you are travelling for a holiday or pleasure then this hotel isn’t for you as it’s more of a business trip hotel and the location is poor. I personally wouldn’t stay here again unless they dramatically reduced the price.
I fell in love with this place as soon as I laid eyes on the building. My fears about it being a run-down and discarded project were totally overcome by the friendly welcome by reception staff. We stayed on the 9th floor, 4th room which gave us a view of the interesting shaped Burger King and KFC stores just across the highway as well as the Atra College campus. Beds are lovely and comfy. Nice warm sheets and fluffy pillows. Plenty of storage space in the cupboard if you're here on business and need a place to hang suits. Free water on the bedside tables and a coffee machine in the corner. Small table and two chairs to sit at and enjoy the view from. There's also a small pouffe at the counter where the wired Internet is located should that be needed. There's free KPN WiFi however. I suppose the only strange thing would be the shower and toilet. The toilet door is a bit like a cupboard, it doesn't close with a lock or anything so this is most definitely a room for couples or solo travellers. Especially if you consider the totally exposed shower. It's in the centre of the room and is completely clear glass. Now, I find that fun and interesting, but perhaps not everyone is so open to being watched while they bathe. Overall I love the room and the artistic way it's organised (TV on a faux tree branch, floating fixtures in the toilet etc.) so if you're looking for a new hotel experience please give this place a try!
I stayed 3 times at this hotel, while attending to congresses nearby. The design of the hotel and of the rooms is unique and stunning, with a wonderful rooftop bar (very nicely decorated, 360° panoramic view, delicious snacks food or light dishes) and an excellent fine dining rooftop restaurant. The staff is friendly, and very helpful. All is clean and comfortable. I shall definitely return as for me it is the best hotel in that area.
The room is very well decorated as the rest of the hotel. The view on the 18th floor is really stunning. Very comfortable, and friendly. I had no difficulty to add one extra night on the fly. Didi not tested the restaurant, except for breakfast which was OK.
We stay at Fletcher Hotel Amsterdam for 2 nights in the month of June 2017.It was worth to stay .Nice friendly and helping staff. Rooms were small but very clean glass shower in the room was the best part. Buffet breakfast was tasty. We lost our hand bag with cash and passports but the helping staff found and handover to us..
