This hotel will charge your card with an amount three time more than your room costs and when you arrive late at night they won't let you in. They will ask you to pay again the full amount at the reception because "they don't see it in the system". You will show them your bank statement from your online banking app and they would still not let you in and deal with problem in the morning. They will insist that you pay or leave although you booked for the week. And they would insist that you pay again for the whole week, not one night. Not even a slightest remorse. At least this is exactly what happened to me when I arrived at around 1 am and eventually I had to pay all the extra amounts. The guys at the reception were completely indifferent to the situation. And buy the way, the hotel is dated. You won't be able to see it from the pictures, but it is. The only good thing is the internet that doesn't require a long registration thru forms, just a click. So if you plan to book this hotel, you better be a rich person with extra money.

Arriving at the hotel was a bit hard, because the road was a bit confusing to us. Thankfully, the administration had put some distinctive signs that lead us there. The hotel itself is quite charming, very clean and with nice breakfast. Unfortunately what attracted me was ultimately a disantvantage. The glass shower in the center of the room had a strange feeling. I would prefer to have my shoewr out of sight. Additionaly, the toilet was separated from the bedroom with glass, non trasparent walls, that had a small gap between them and the door, and you could see the motion inside, plus, there was no sound proof. I must also comment that we have a car, so that means that we could cover the distance to the center quite easily, since the hotel is quite remote, and the service to the train station was not convenient when we needed it.

This could be one of the most extraordinary hotels I've been at! Really cool and interesting design, both on the Building but also how the rooms were setup. A round shower in the middle of the room is not something I've been before. A for effort on the design level! Nothing to add against the hotel, but the location is too far away from the central of Amsterdam so you need to take the tram/bus or cab.

Hotel is well structured , with different style of view . Restaurant is on top and this gives you a chance to enjoy the silhouette around. Metro station is by 10 min far by walk and you can easily go to the city centrum . About the rooms, there is not even mini bar - there is only 2 small bottle of weather put in the corner and no kettle. The shower is into the middle of the room and it makes you a quite uncomfortable . Bed is really Soft and I like that. Breakfast makes me happy :), a lot of options, specially for the people who doesn't eat pork. An hotel team/ crew is really professional and smile all time , they are helpful . If I come again , there is not serious reason to do not stay here . Would like to come back . Thank you .

Staying at the Fletcher is lovely, the rooms are kept to a high standard and the staff are willing to help. About a 10-15 minute walk to the closest train station. If you don't want to pay a lot for food, fast food restaurants across the road.

The problem with the Fletcher Hotel is poor management. The design is fun and the potential for having a fantastic hotel is high. But without active management you are going to be out of luck if something goes wrong. I had a really dreadful stay at this hotel. Looking through past reviews in detail after-the-fact, I see there are several that refer to problems with air-conditioning. There are complaints ranging from temperature not going below 26 degrees in September 2016 to being freezing in October and December 2016. And it looks as if the hotel has never rectified these problems. Offering any room at a hotel of this supposed quality-class is unacceptable. But allocating large numbers of rooms to customers knowing that the air conditioning system is failing smacks of deception by a management that puts short term profits ahead of either effectiveness or integrity. When I checked in nothing was said about air conditioning problems. I went out and returned at 10 pm the first evening to find the room unbearably hot. Staff were polite but said there was nothing they could do. I asked for the manager but was told there was no manager on duty. I was astonished that a hotel of this size and class simply had no manager in place with front-line staff running the whole operation at night. There was no way, I was told, to call maintenance personnel or do anything about the problem. I went back to the front desk several times and said that I insisted that management be informed of the issue since I have allergies and would be sick if I stayed in the hothouse much longer. Staff insisted that there was no way to contact management: so if an emergency comes up, it seems that it is allowed to run its course unattended. I told the front desk that I would have to change hotel: but there was no system in place for me to be moved even though the room I had been given was not fit for human habitation and I had already paid for the Fletcher. Security staff did kindly bring me some iced water a bit after midnight and they said that they would in fact try to contact management, but the room remained sweltering. I slept a bit but woke with blazing red eyes and a headache feeling both tired and sick. I went down and asked if the manager had now arrived -- but apparently there would still be no manager until the afternoon, even given the failing air conditioning system. I went out and a manager did phone me in the afternoon and say my room would be changed. So that evening I changed room and the new one was initially better, but heated up over night, if less alarmingly than the first room. I woke up soaked in sweat nonetheless. I really should have changed hotel at this point, but the second night was not so bad and this was the middle of high season with other hotels both full and a long way away. I also wanted to get out and about early, so I mistakenly stayed on. The third night was a repeat of the second: ok at bedtime, but got hot again later. I was relieved to check out as soon as possible the third morning. I asked at the front desk about other reactions, and other guests were complaining: so the hotel was continuing to check in people without telling them there was a major system failure. And, by the time I had left there had been no maintenance effort to rectify the problem. Possibly there is a deep system failure and it cannot be fixed, perhaps the same failure as has been reported in other TripAdvisor reviews. This problem made the whole stay unpleasant. I was really tired and under the weather because of it. If you want to book this place I would very strongly recommend checking that a complete overhaul of the air conditioning system has been completed. Otherwise you could be in for a truly uncomfortable stay.

a lovely clean and quiet hotel with friendly and very helpfull staff, the resturant served lovely good quality food and the breakfast was buffett and again agood selection of nice food, lovely clean rooms and very quiet at night had alovely 2 night stay and would recommend to friends and would stay here again.

Amazing view on the 17th floor. Lunch selection is pretty good, try their '12 hour' for typical Dutch lunch. Portion is quite big. The hotel itself is pretty different with its circular shape, and we saw their super modern room.

The tube-shaped hotel is in a good location: Amsterdam outskirts, only 20 minutes drive to the city center. The hotel is aesthetically exciting without being tacky. We stayed on the 11th floor in two rooms for 2 nights. It is a lovely and modern hotel and the customer service was great. The rooms are reasonable-sized, clean and coolly modern. Like most hotels, rooms are cleaned once a day and this is when you get all the room service you would get for the day (although the reception will still try to attend to your needs). The room is sound-proof, bed and pillows are soft but the negative side is that the beds are two singles so if you are a couple make sure you ask for double. There is no fridge in the room which is another minus. A cool feature is the shower in the middle of the room, however it means you have no privacy if you share the room with your children, for instance. Breakfast costs €18 for adults and €9 for children. There are fast food/ restaurants opposite the hotel including Burger king, KFC, Wok Express etc. There is a hospital nearby, around 15 minutes walk away and the train station and shops are 20 minutes walk, however they are a quick drive.

One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in at this price range. The staff were great, the rooms are unusual (the hotel is round shaped) but practical, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The glass shower in the centre of the room means it's probably not a room for sharing with anyone you're not 100% "close too" but for a couple it's certainly fine. Superb views, with great facilities and a rooftop "smoking area" which regardless of whether you smoke, provided open air comfort and heaters above comfortable sofas. I will be staying there again.
