The tire station hotel is a really nice hotel to stay in. It is close to the museum zone, and the tram 1 and 7 takes you directly to the city center. The staff is very friendly and supportive. Breakfast is great, very complete! I would totally stay again.
I loved this hotel. It had everything except a mini fridge but that was fine, and another thing that bothered me was the fact that the windows did not open fully and that the bathroom did not have a door ( only the part where the toilet seat is had one ). But other than that the stay was great, the beds were extremely comfortable, extremely clean and cozy.
The decor is funky and modern, and the staff were friendly. However, we did not get a good night's sleep in room 030 - we had chairs scraping loudly against the floor above us in the reception/restaurant area until 02:30 and again from 05:30. Water glasses are provided, but a small bottle of water costs €2.50. Breakfast is unjustifiably at €15 per person per night. Our bathroom also smelled of sewage when we first arrived, presumably as the pipes hadn't been used in a while and had run dry. We understood this was a basic hotel when booking, but for the price, we were expecting a better night's sleep.
I loved this hotel and the style. I had a really short staying there just 2 nights but I liked the really friendly staff from the check in through my staying to the end. I really liked the style and for me a good location 15 mins to get to the airport and more or less the same to get to get centre. I would definitely go back.
The reception feels like you are walking into a new concept hotel. Very clean, friendly with a great position for the price. Walking distance to the centre of town. Really fantastic pizza place next door and brought the true modern culture into your bones.
The hotel itself is nice, with clean and comfortable rooms and friendly staff. But the location is not good at all, very empty area, and about a 30 minute walk to the main museums, and a 2 hour walk to the dam and the big commercial area. This makes it especially hard to go out at night to eat or something, as you have to take the tram every time
Altogether this was a good choice for me and my daughter - one of the few hotels in Amsterdam to offer decent price twin bedded rooms. We really appreciated the service here, and enjoyed the free glass of wine in the early evening! The room was small and in need of a bit of decor touching up, but it was comfy enough, lovely bathroom, great breakfast. It is close enough to the centre of Amsterdam but there are quite a few roads to cross to get to the tram stop when heading in some directions! (Thank goodness for CityMapper app :-) ) One tiny annoyance - the pillows in the room are very soft but squish down to nothing - think I would need about 4 to get decent neck support! We had no view at all from our room, so if you can I would request a canal side room.
Regular visitor to Amsterdam and have stayed at quite a few hotels in the area over the years and this is easily the best one and also the first time I have felt compelled to write a review about an Amsterdam hotel!! Okay it isn't in the main centre but don't let that put you off as firstly you are guaranteed an uninterrupted nights sleep and secondly you just jump on the Number 1 tram that stops outside and you are in the main tourist area in 10 mins.. Alternatively you just turn left out of the hotel and in a couple of mins you are walking through the lovely Vondel Park which takes you to the Leidesplein with its many bars and restaurant's. The hotel itself is brilliant - comfy modern rooms that are spotless as is the whole of the hotel. A great coffee shop is situated within the hotel as well as a popular restaurant with a great bar that stays open until 2am. You really can't go wrong with this hotel!
We really liked that hotel : next to a big park and close to the city center. We had the tasting menu on one evening and it was great food. The pictures I attached will say it all. The room was small but the perfect size for a long week end.
This hotel is in a lively area with plenty of good restaurants and bars nearby. It's close to the Vondelpark and two teams run to the city centre. The hotel is modern and quirky, with gun messages on the doors, in the lifts and even from the towel. The loud and lively decor isn't for traditionalists but I loved it. Free wine hour is a nice touch. And the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. In short, I loved this hotel and would have given five stars but for the bed. The mattress was very hard and I didn't find it comfortable.
