Location was excellent near Central Station since I was traveling via train. Cannot comment about breakfast or most amenities as I was only sleeping at the hotel. I wanted to comment on my room (#304). While the room was clean and had all the amenities I look for(quiet, blackout shades, coffee maker, fridge, big towels, robes, etc) it was unsafe. I backed into the room with my rolling luggage and a duffle bag and went flying with all my luggage. Why? There is a small platform when you enter but the room is actually five steps below and there was no railing to stop you from falling. Perhaps this sounds like I am clumsy but I am not an accident prone person. I took another fall two nights later in the middle of the night using the bathroom by missing one step going down to the bed. It has been 11 days since my initial fall and I've had a dull headache since then and will be seeing my doctor since I am now home. I told two separate reception personnel about this and while they were sympathetic it was a perfunctory apology and moved on. This is for all the future guests and in hoping the hotel management recognizes this is dangerous and need to find a solution immediately.

Very nice hotel, great staff, very clean and close to everything! The room was huge, large flat tv, towel warmer in the bathroom. Corner room with eindows on two sides, overlooking a canal. Perfect

We were selected as the Guests of the Day, given an upgraded room, a tin of cookies, complimentary breakfast and other amenities. Thanks! Our room was right over the front door, but it was quiet with very little street sounds. Good location; walk-able from the Central train station with baggage on wheels. Everything was clean and functional. It gets my recommendation.
The location is excellent. Can catch a train or tram easily. Close to resturants and shops. Also coffee houses if thats your thing. What didn't I like..absolutely nothing. Have stayed at the Barbazon Palace a dozen times and love it.
The hotel is right next to the Amsterdam central train station therefore it was easy for us to access the transportations.
