We stayed here while visiting the Netherlands. Nice and clean and quiet hotel. A regular HIE. Very short walking distance to the tram and train into the center of Amsterdam. It was about a 20 minute ride to the city center via the public transportation. Not a lot to choose from in the area for eating. A couple of good restaurants but that was about it.
I've stayed at the holiday in for vacation with my son it was wonderful experience . the service at the front desk was above and beyond especially Mary ann She was there to help anytime she is so professional, talented would like thank her for all her effort. Besides the breakfast was superb and the rooms are comfortable and clean.
Very nice hotel, clean, confortable, very nice staff. Easy access to public transportation to go downtown or to the airport. The only con would be the breakfest, they could have more options for fruits and scrambled eggs or omelette (they only had boiled eggs...)
we came for a family visit, the hotel is a min. walk to line 5 + 51 , on the edge of Amstelveen and Buitenfeldert (Ams), very close to the center of the jewish community, as you can guess from the sign "Kosher" in the breakfast room. the room is not big but clean, nice soft beds , very good water pressure and the tea and kettle is a nice bonus. Breakfast is basic, no hot dishes, but it was ok. the staff were very nice as well. the only real sown side was the Parking, Parking my car in the street with a parking meter is not what i had in mind. If the hotel does not provide a parking place they should not write they have a parking.
Excellent hotel , good position for travel. Breakfast excellent continental choice, lots of variety Good staff , polite helpful, Computers to check in for flights with printers, only 25 mins to school airport, we will return thankyou
First your stuck if you miss last tram at midnight with the cheapest way back is a €30 a taxi fare . Make sure you get down to breakfast EARLY or miss out . Finally got to taste a waffle. Safes are not in room ,no fridges in room yet charge same as mecure but is only a tiny motel that is out of the way and stranded if out after midnight when all the nightlife is in action . Finally offered me the holiday inn at sloterdyk but funny I had a reservation with them but they couldn't add another day but could for a fellow hotel. Left me totally dissolution ed at the whole process
I've stayed for eleven nights at Holiday inn in a mix of business and family visit. My travel agent made a mistake not to include my children as part of the guests list sent to the hotel nevertheless this wasn't a problem at all and the hotel didn't charge any extras including breakfast for them as well and providing an extra bed. I have to name really two amazing receptionists (Inge and Mary Ann) as they were at all stages very cooperative, helpful, smiling and friendly to me and my family who joined later than I did. Inge was do alert about the date of arrival of my family and even she approached me first that they'll prepare the room for them and add the extra bed though I was heading to her to say the same. My only concern is about one receptionist who was not so welcoming and I saw her only twice when we were asking for dental kits she said hat they have but we can buy them from the nearby supermarket!! The hotel itself is a cozy one, with good enough rooms, comfortable to a great extent beds and almost all you might need. The hotel location as well was excellent for me, 20min by team to Central Station, 20min to the airport by taxi and 5 min walk for a nearby park where my kids enjoyed a sunny day out away from the routine of visiting touristic places. The area is quiet. My room was one of two sharing a door where I could hear regular conversations from my neighbors in the other room. The hotel serves only breaks fast which is inclusive to room charge and has a good variety but a standard one (I.e. Breakfast doesn't change from day to day or have any additions or omissions). For me was good enough and filling and they have a special corner for Kosher. The hotel doesn't have foreign exchange, unfortunately, so I had to go to central station to exchange dollars for euros. If you were hungry and wanna have a quick snack (cheese or chocolate) they have a small open fridge beside the reception for that at an extra charge. The hotel has a supermarket nearby (2 min. Walk), three restaurants one of them serves Halal food for Muslims, a very good Herring shop for a quick bite in addition to another two restaurants. A bookshop is also there and even closer than the supermarket. The tram station is about 2-3 min walk. The hotel can provide you with an umbrella in rainy days free of charge which was really useful and they have bikes but I didn't ask how to use them and if they were free or for an extra charge. Overall an experience to be repeated. Success to the hotel team, please keep it up.
I stayed here for three nights on a business trip, and it was fantastic. Very clean, very quiet, amazing shower!, great beds, huge rooms, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. The breakfast - included in the room price of 90 Euros per night that I paid - is continental, but well stocked. Brown and White bread to toast, croissants, pain au chocolate, almond tarts, four kinds of fruit juice, cold meats and cheeses, granola and three other kinds of cereals, fruit, boiled eggs, plus a range of kosher items, and what was honestly the best coffee I've had in many a year. Served from 6:30 until 10am, I thought that was a great range for the guests' needs. The shower in the rooms is a thing of beauty, I only fear it could be dangerous because I was very tempted just to stay in there. Forever. The rooms themselves were large, a good double bed with lots of huge pillows, very clean, and with everything you might need (with the possible exception of a rubbish bin?) including tea and coffee facilities, kindly stocked with everything you need. The location is just great, 1.5Km from my office, and close enough to the airport to be a quick journey (about 33 Euros) and still be exceptionally quiet in the nights. I honestly loved it, and I hope I get to stay there again.
We stayed here for four days, our second visit, and had a lovely time. The staff are friendly and efficient, it's spotlessly clean and rooms are of a good size. The location is a lot better than it appears, the metro and tram station to the centre is only a couple of minutes from the hotel, and is very convenient as they run every few minutes. Where the hotel is is a quiet area away from the hubbub of Amsterdam but very easy to get there by the tram, more interesting, or the metro, quicker. It appears that the hotel is in an urban location, but only five minutes walk from the rear of the hotel is a very large park with children's area and a canoe lake. Well worth going to. The continental breakfast is of good quality and plentiful. Thoroughly recommended.
I really am happy that I chose to stay in this property. Especially that there is a small market beside with great foods and all. Staff are super friendly, good breakfast and easy transfer to and from the airport. From the airport you can take intercity train to Amsterdam Zuid and from there either tram no 5, or metro 51 towards Westlijk. But 51 is more convenient. To city centre you can take no 5. Another piece of info is that when using tickets for metro you have to validate it at the stop (usually raised platform) and when you get off, for tram you have to validate the ticket on board when going in and out. 3 day pass costs you €17 And is valid for buses, trams and metro. Enjoy your stay there guys.
