Stayed here for two nights 29th-31st Oct in a quad room. 2 adults 2 children. 30 min bus journey from the airport (bus397). And a 25/30 min walk to dam square. The number 12 or 2 tram will get you there in 10 mins though and stops 2 mins walk from the hotel. Perfect. Very nice hotel! Clean and tidy and very spacious rooms. No issues with the reception. We didn’t have breakfast but it smelled very nice. Good stay no issues. Good value.
First impressions were of friendly efficiency and a large laid-back cat lazily checking you out as you entered the foyer. Rooms and Breakfasts were good - the breakfast more than I expected. Excellent. The only slight drawback was the shower. Water escaped from gaps in the cubicle and it was hard to avoid flooding the floor outside. It could be done - just - but you don't want to be thinking about this when having a shower. The room is ideal for those visiting the various museums and the area is very pleasant to walk around.
Until fairly recently this hotel was more of a hostel, cheap and not-very-cheerful for tourists or back-packers on a tight budget. It has now been renovated, very well, and although the rooms are small, our bathroom was fitted to a high standard and the underfloor heating was perfect for drying socks! The Inner is on a quiet and pretty residential street corner (albeit under the Schiphol flight path) but easy walking distance of the city centre. There is no bar or residents' lounge and the restaurant is breakfast only. This hotel is probably most suitable for couples or friends who just need somewhere convenient and clean to sleep while visiting the city.
The hotel is ideally located just a few steps from the Rijskmuseum and is easily reached thanks to the tram connection. Clean room. Silent. The lack of service to restore the bathroom and coffee machine courtesy set was not appreciated (we had to ask for the capsules at the reception). Another negative note for the night service employee. It was intrusive and used out-of-place comments. Breakfast is of little choice, service is slow in finding clean cutlery for guests. Yogurt is offered without knowing the expiry date and if it is whole or light. The quality of the food offered however is good.
Money was hidden in bag, bothersome thinking about how much time the staff must have spent going through our stuff to find and steal the money. Invasion of privacy. Would not recommend staying here. Just stayed here weekend of Oct 4th.
The best thing about this hotel is the location. Close to many attractions, museums and great restaurants. The rooms are very basic so please manage your expectations here. We booked a room with 3 twin beds and although the room was small we were fine with it. The mattress wasn’t very comfortable so as long as you’re out all day experiencing all that Amsterdam has to offer, you won’t mind this as much as you will be too exhausted to care. The room itself was reasonably clean, the pillow covers were stained (mind you these aren’t full pillows on the beds, more like square throw cushions used as pillows). I accidentally knocked something off the nightstand and it ended up under the bed....sigh, I’ll just say, this area probably hasn’t been cleaned in quite sometime and leave it at that. The bathroom was small with very little shelf space. We received bath mats 1 night and never did again for the other 3 nights we were there and had to use hand towels on the floor. Oh btw, many European hotels do not offer washcloths so do remember to pack your own. Otherwise the shower was good and bathroom was clean which is the most important to me. Check in and checkout was easy enough and they do have luggage storage so if you have a late flight you can leave it there at checkout and go back later to collect which is quite convenient. Take this place for what it is, super basic accommodations at a great location and you’ll be fine. Who spends their time in the room anyway when there’s soo much to see and do in Amsterdam.
Loved my stay at XO Hotel Inner because of i) the location - a short stroll to the museums, canal cruises, fantastic restaurants, tram stops and tourist sites; ii) it is in a lovely, delightful neighbourhood; iii) my room was clean and very comfortable; iv) the staff were wonderful; and v) excellent value for money. I highly recommend this hotel.
My best friend and I decided to book a girly weekend to Amsterdam and booked the XO Inner hotel. It’s perfect for those who want to visit the museums, Vondelpark and Heineken experience! As soon as we arrived we were greeted by an oriental man who was not friendly and very blunt. When it came to us leaving, he didn’t wish us a safe flight or even say goodbye - just sat on reception pretending to be busy. We waited 15 minutes for someone to greet us at reception as soon as we arrived. There was no bell to grab assistance and we were told no information about Amsterdam, what was around us or were given a map/guide (like the last hotel I visited did). I also asked for extra towels so I could have a shower as our other ones weren’t fresh and were previously used and they said that I couldn’t as it’s one a day only! Our room was in the basement and was very dark but also very clean and pleasant and a perfect base used for sleeping and relaxing. Would I stay here again? Yes but if we had a window view!
Stayed in a room of 4 single beds. The room was a big room with 4 single beds which 2 lots of 2 were pushed together which wasn’t ideal for 4 lads sharing so we moved the beds apart from each other when we noticed the floor was disgusting, there was no way it had been hoovered. Also the wall had dirty marks on it and the storage cupboard above the beds. Bedsheets has stains on which did look like make up marks. We complained straight away and the housekeeping team came in and cleaned/hoovered the room. This should have been done before letting someone stay in the room!! So not a great start. The location is good. It is a good 35-40 min walk into centraal though. There is a few nice bars about 15-20 min away from the hotel that we went to as we walked into the centre. We never had breakfast so couldn’t comment on that. Overall a nice hotel it was just a shame about the uncleanliness when we arrived otherwise there wasn’t much to moan about! Would I use this hotel again?? Possibly as the price was good it just was a little too far for walking in and out the centre although I do believe there is teams nearby that can be used if you wanted to.
Certainly the best of the cheaper options that I have stayed in Amsterdam, wonderfully quiet area even though it was so close to many of the attractions like Van Gogh museum and concert hall, Amsterdam is very well connected and nothing is very far away by tram or bike or walk.
