Hotel is in a good location. Stayed here for two nights and hadn't stayed here before. The room decor was dated and the bed was uncomfortable with the mattress being too soft. The room comes with free WiFi and breakfast. Breakfast was just ok, with limited options to choose from. I wouldn't stay here again, however location is perfect!
Amazing location, very friendly staff. Went with my husband & friends for his birthday. Staff couldn't do enough to help. Great location for shops and train station. Rooms basic but very clean. Will definitely book again
Polite, helpful staff. Continental breakfast was yummy. So convenient to restaurants, riverboat cruises, and even the red light district should you choose to venture there. The elevator was a little scary at times and our room was a bit outdated with absolutely no view of anything other than an empty courtyard and other people's rooms. We spent two nights here on our way to South Africa and found it quite adequate.
We have been to many best westerns and this was one, that did not live up to the high standard that we have come to expect from the company! We were very disappointed by the standard of service we experienced here. Although the location is good, the price of a room is extortionate for the tiny pokey showers and toilet. When requesting a double bed rather than 2 singles we were again disappointed by 2 singles being pushed together. We have always enjoyed staying in best westerns all over the world! But this one has thoroughly disappointed.
Great location, friendly helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay. Breakfast was simple, but adequate. We would like to thank Zsoka for all of her help. She always had good ideas for restaurants and sights. .
Good hotel, great position in the city. Worth staying if you are in Amsterdam especially if you want to visit the city itself. Staff is polite and the internet is great. Only negative thing is the bathroom, it was slightly outdated and could use a little renovation. The rooms however are great and very modern. To be revisited.
This hotel is 1 min walk to Dam Square, so Amsterdam Central and the surrounding areas are your main objective, then it is a great place to stay. However, you don't have a view to the square as such! The Amsterdam Central is a 10 min walk or a 2 min bus ride to the hotel. Lots of eats and shops around. The hotel rooms are not very modern and small in space, but are clean! The breakfast is pretty much standard cold cuts, boiled eggs, juices, cereals, yougurt etc. They don't make Omelets for you to order etc. and don't have any warm foods - like Beacon or Sausages or Scrambled Eggs etc. Ofc, you can make your own toasts! There is a coffee shop, right opposite! So you can get slammed and then get to bed straight up! The staff is polite and warm! Special call out to Zoka (I cant remember the right spelling, am sorry!). In all, a great place to park yourselves if you intend to be out on the streets all day (which you should in Amsterdam!) and wanna get back for a quick snooze/change etc.
This hotel is in a pedestrian street in the heart of Amsterdam, a few steps from Dam Square. The Connexxion shuttle from the airport was round trip for €27. It dropped me off 20' from the front door, and picked me up 3 minutes away. The room was a bit dated. Overheated until I figured out how to turn off the radiators. The continental breakfast was very good. The one bad experience was that one of the guests smoked in their room, which set off the fire alarm at 4 am. Ugh. Not the hotel's fault. At €114 per night (booked thru BestWestern .com), it was a good value for the location. Good restaurants steps away, and a 'coffeehouse' just across the street.
I stayed at this property for two nights in October and was pleasantly surprised. We understood that it was situated on a pedestrian walkway and weren't sure how far it would be to bring our luggage, but it was only a few feet. The hotel is clean and tidy. The breakfast was excellent with a lovely selection of breads, cheeses, meats and spreads. The location is IDEAL. Walking distance to so many attractions and main tram lines. The only issues are that the hotel is noisy - there isn't a lot of soundproofing so you can hear all sorts of conversations in the hallways and that some of the lighting in the room is motion detected, which results in lights coming on during the night if someone goes to the washroom. . Overall though for the two nights it was a fantastic location.
The Best Western Dam Square Inn is a great place to stay, it couldn't be any more central and offers plenty of comfort. My room was first floor across from a bar and coffeeshop but there was no problem with noise, the room was warm and the bed super soft, just what was needed after an evening cruise in december. I would definitely recommend a stay here.
