Quite a smart little hotel in Near Central Amsterdam..pleasant staff..willing to help A short tram ride to Dam Square on Tram Line 4..The hotel rooms are spacious and clean.A thoughtful afterthought is that there are snacks in the Minibar to be used at no extra charge. Though breakfast is extra, we found the English breakfast sufficient and filling. Programs in English on the Tele..was also nice..loved to have been able to see my old childhood favourites the Waltons on True entertainment. We stayed here for our first anniversary and couldn't of picked a better place. The rooms were spacious and clean, absolutely loved the enormous marble bathroom and our minibar which was stocked everyday. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Tram is right outside the hotel which takes you straight into the city centre, lots of places to eat and drink nearby. Thank you Notting Hill for such a lovely stay!

We booked this hotel for a night before embarking on a cruise up the Rhine. It was clean, comfortable, friendly and very well located for everything we had planned. We were able to walk everywhere and when we tired, we jumped on a canal cruise a couple of blocks from the hotel. We had museum reservations so the next day we visited the Van Gogh and Riksmuseum, returned to the hotel, got our luggage, caught the tram right outside the hotel, made it to the pier and boarded our ship. We enjoyed Notting Hill and would definitely return. The staff was polite and helpful and you've got the see the suitcase wall behind the check in counter!

5 of us stayed here for a weekend in November for my birthday. We had a double room that looked over the canal and a triple in the basement (level -1). The double room was lovely with a really nice view. The triple however had one tiny window near the ceiling so no view at all. It was also quite loud one night when someone outside dropped a bottle right outside the woke my sister up. The rest of the room was nice however with a really good shower and tea and coffee in the room. We went for room only as we wanted to eat out so not sure what the breakfast was like. We had some room service one night and can say that the chips were good. Only complaint is that room service doesn't go on late enough - it stops at 10 pm and the fryers got turned off a little earlier so we couldn't get a second portion. I'd booked the hotel through and they must have realised it was my birthday so on the first night we were given some complimentary champagne in our room and drinks vouchers for the bar downstairs. On the second night we were given more champagne, drinks vouchers and a yummy chocolate mousse cake and a cute card. Thank you for making my birthday special!!! Parking is very expensive next to the hotel (4 euros an hour) but we found a car park near the Heineken Experience for 20 euros for 24 hours. The location is good but is a 20 minute walk away from Dam Square - something to keep in mind if you want to stay central. Overall it was a really nice hotel and I would recommend it unless you want to stay more central to the city.

This hotel is in a perfect location for all the sites the tram stops right outside. Our room was lovel clean and modern, the cleaners came in every day we had fresh towels every day. We went room only as there are so many places to eat out. We were situated near The Vondel park where we went running every morning it is a beautiful park it was a 10k run from the hotel to the park round the park twice and back to the hotel. We did The Ann Frank tour which I would strongly recommend and the Van Gogh Gallery, would advise you book on line before visit especially for Ann Frank. We had a evening canal trip which was also very enjoyable. We had a lovely city break would definitely recommend this hotel.

Oh I loved my quick stay in this lovely hotel. All is really great from the welcome to the hotel until the checkout. Room was also very comfortable and very well decorated. What a surprise when I discovered the view on the canal and the coffee machine in my room! I will come back !

The Notting Hill was our home for 10 days while visiting beautiful Amsterdam. We had a canal room with all the modern comforts...even a complimentary minibar everyday. The hotel was convenient for walking to Amsterdam's treasured museums...good restaurants (loved Brasserie Londen in the hotel)...a flea market that was full of trendy clothing or anything you might have forgotten to pack...a close-by ATM...No. 4 tram taking you to center of the city in a few minutes...canal boats cruising by outside. Back to our room...chic design and comfortable bed, but could use a little more privacy between room and bathroom (opaque glass door). Also more space is needed to hang clothes. Nice though to have two comfy chairs for reflecting on the day. The hotel staff, especially in the bar and restaurant was very congenial and the food delicious! We had breakfast and dinner there many times, and it was always tasty and prepared with an artistic flare. The Blackberry Soup was to die for! Can't wait to return to this lovely hotel.

We stayed in this hotel earlier this year in the summer. After reading the information on their website, I imagined a personally hosted, unique boutique hotel experience. However, the nebulous Monsieur Notting Hill never appeared and instead we were looked after by what appeared to be recently graduated hospitality students who exhibited varying degrees of disinterest. On arrival, the elevator was out of order and while we were happy to have a room on a higher floor, we were not happy to have to carry our luggage up. No offer of assistance was made other than by the girl checking us in who looked like she'd break if she carried a load. When we arrived at our floor the corridors were all blocked with dirty linen and cleaning trolleys and this was at 5.00 pm. This trend continued throughout our 4 day stay, with these cleaning trolleys blocking our corridor at all hours of the night and day. We had breakfast in the restaurant 3 out of the 4 mornings we were there and although we always ordered the same thing, each day we got a different combination of the items listed on the menu for that order. We enjoyed the cocktail of the day most evenings in the bar and while the bar staff were quite friendly, we were always the only ones there so it lacked a bit of atmosphere. Overall it was an average hotel stay but quite unlike the hype on their website. Amsterdam has a lot of options so look around before being lured by this one.

There is nothing bad to say about the Notting Hill: clean, maintained, friendly staff. The rooms are rather small, but that is pretty typical for Amsterdam. On the upper floor expect to be in an attic room that offers limited space. Modern room design and bathroom, offers a Nespresso machine ( big +). Beds rather soft, so maybe not to everyones taste. Typical hotel breakfast, not many healthy choices available. Also, the breakfast area can be really busy as it is not very big. In terms of location, the hotel is not super central but in approx 10 mins you can walk to the beginning of the Leidseplein. In addition, the tram stops alomost right in front of the hotel. All in all: not a bad choice for an Amsterdam hotel with an acceptable price/quality ratio, if you are prepared to stay slightly outside the city center.

It’s the first time I write a review but I feel I have to. I’m travelling for business across the world and stay in many hotels, but the unfriendliness of the staff at reception of Notting Hill hotel is something I have never experienced before. The reception is functional, task oriented with hardly any level of service of support. I am staying there as we speak and I am sick in the hotel. The hotel is aware of it, but nobody is informing how it goes or whether a doctor need to be consulted. I am informed that I need to change to a basement room but nobody is offering any help. Just factual knowledge exchange that they “cant help it” but I need to move my room in whatever shape I’m in. Otherwise “please contact my manager”. Today I checked on my colleague’s room but they don’t wish to share any information about another guest, even if it’s somebody from my own team and I’m asking merely because I feel so unwell. Nobody cares. The only people that are friendly in this hotel are the restaurant people. But if it wasn’t so close to the office, I would never come here again.
