Hyatt Regency Amsterdam4.0 out of 5.0

Recently stayed at this hotel for a week with friends. We had an amazing stay at this hotel from the moment we arrived people at check in were super friendly and helpful. Room was nice on the Regency club level and we had breakfast included in the restaurant everyday and it was delicious with exceptional service we also ate dinner here twice and both times we loved the food. We were due to stay only 4 days but had to stay an extra 3 days due to bad weather in the UK and we could not fly. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us with our extended stay. I have stayed at several Hyatt Brands as I am world of Hyatt member and this was truly a wonderful experience. All members of staff were polite and helpful but I have to give a special shout out to Fiona and Roslyn at the Front desk. Hannah and Julio in the restaurant who went above and beyond in their service and last but not least Aprilla in the Regency club lounge she is amazing nothing was to much trouble for her and she could not do enough for myself and friends she really is a gem. The hotel is truly amazing and I would highly recommend it.
We stayed at Hyatt Regency Amsterdam for a night only and we really enjoyed our stay. Colorful and cozy lobby and a very warm welcome at the reception. We had reserved a club room for 3 people (roll-away bed for a kid) and we were told there were no roll-away beds anymore but they would give us connecting rooms instead - we had to wait for a bit as the room was not ready when we arrived due to this change but both the reception and the housekeeping teams were very attentive and kind. They even brought us a mini chocolate plate for our daughter to enjoy while were were waiting. In summary: Rooms are spacious (to Amsterdam standards) and very new and clean. We had rooms facing the main street but sound proofing works well, rooms were very quiet. Very good layout of the shower/toilet area - lots of privacy when travelling as a family. Good quality tea bags and Nespresso capsules/machines are provided in the rooms. Good breakfast spread, no egg station - but you can order eggs through the waiters -who are very attentive and fast to service. Quick check in and check-out processes. Location is good as well - just a few mins walk from the metro station or if you prefer to walk in this nice city which we always prefer) - you can walk to Rembrandtplein, Waterlooplein etc in 15 mins. Overall, very nice hotel and I know where to stay next time in Amsterdam.
I am a very frequent visitor of Hyatt hotels, mainly in the southern hemisphere. Now this hotel chain opened a number of locations in my home town. Last week I visited the Hyatt Regency and had a wonderful lunch with our grandchildren. Great service and top food. The Mama Makan restaurant is everything of what I expected from my favorate in town. Top recommendation.
Spend some time with my girlfriend in Amsterdam and stayed in the Hyatt on points. Great hotel, good staff, no English breakfast unfortunately (you can order omelets etc) though. The hotel is conveniently located close to the tram and metro which gets you to all must see locations quickly.
Very nice and green hotel, loved the plants and the decoration of the loby. Rooms are clean and nice. Staff friendly. The whole hotel was really pretty. Food wise was OK, not great. But the rest it was a good hotel to stay for holidays
Just got back from Amsterdam after staying at this fabulous hotel for a long weekend. The hotel is unique, fabulous decor and very friendly helpful staff. The room was spacious and immaculately presented, amazing power shower. We ate at the hotel twice and the meals were simply delicious. The bar staff were really lovely and happy to make any cocktail we requested. Sadly I was ill one day of my visit and had to stay in bed ... I couldn't have wished for a nicer place to be ! All the staff were concerned and asked if there was anything they could do to help. I would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely come back.
The hotel location is in a quiet area, but very convenient with Metro and tram within a very short walking distance. It has a very spacious room and bathroom with great amenities. And a good quality & selection of breakfast, too. Hotel staffs are friendly & very accommodating.
My friend and I booked this hotel about a week before we travelled to Amsterdam as unfortunately ( or fortunately as it turned out) we had mistakenly only booked one night in our initial hotel ( The American). We arrived mid morning to drop our bags off as we were going to Microbia and the zoo ( highly recommended and only a short walk from the hotel). We were greeted by lovely staff who took our bags and offered us a glass of lemon water before we headed off again for the day. On our return about 5pm we found that our bags were already in our room - nice touch. Our room was compact but beautifully furnished and equipped. The light airy feel and botanical prints was very relaxing. The bathroom was lovely and well designed with a very powerful showel and lots of toiletries. A bathrobe and slippers was supplied. The botanical theme is continued throughout the hotel ( interesting for me as I am about to start a botanical art course) with beautiful drawings, etched mirrors and the amazing plant wall in reception lounge area. There were even botanical books on the coffee tables. We did not eat in the hotel as we had a reservation at Moeders which was easily reached by tram from the hotel. We did have cocktails in the bar on our return from dinner. These were fabulous and very different with botanicals and spices!. Slept very well in the comfy beds and although we did not have breakfast at the hotel, on check out we were asked if we would like a coffee to take with us. All in all a lovely stay in a fabulous hotel with lovely chatty and friendly staff. Would I return - definitely!! PS Way better than the American and at a more reasonable cost!
Stayed for a weekend with friends and couldn’t fault the hotel in any aspect. The decor of the lobby and bar/restaurant area has a relaxing ambience that puts you at ease as soon as you walk through the door. The rooms are large and the shower in particular was amazing! Everything has a new feel (because it is new) and everything worked as you would expect. Reception staff were really friendly and helpful, including sorting us out with a restaurant booking at short notice. Location was great, a bit out of the centre so you can avoid the hustle and bustle, but right near a metro stop which is only 3 stops from centraal station, or you can get the tram to Jordaan. All in all a great stay and I wouldn’t hesitate to return.
First off I have visited Amsterdam many times and stayed in some decent hotels but this is by far the best I have stayed in. This is a newly (1 year) opened Hyatt and everything feels fresh and optimistic - especially the staff! The building itself is green and organic and light and the rooms spacious for Amsterdam. There is a small shop selling sandwiches, fruit, juices etc., a bar and a lunchroom and an Indonesian restaurant all bustling and lively but not over busy. For once a decent room service menu and properly priced. However, where Hyatt have it spot on are the staff who are some of the friendliest and knowledgeable I have met from local breakfast places to Chinese restaurants to recommending local sights. Nothing is too much trouble. There are wonderful cushioned areas to relax and just hang out if you don’t want a drink and to people watch before setting out. Although the hotel is a good 30 minutes walk to Dam Square it is close to the Southern canals and far away to feel part of a local community with the Uni close and lively local bars. There are good transport links just down the road too so easy to reach different parts of Amsterdam. The restaurant is worth visiting after a few nights in the city of feeling jaded and the concept of watching the kitchen from the chef’s table is fascinating. However, there is far better Indonesian to be had in the city and within 15 minutes walk. Regardless, the service is again excellent and, if they can improve upon the food a little then they will have a winner. I love this hotel. They seem to have got virtually every detail right. It’s not a high end hotel but a good 4 star which has some real energy. I really hope they can keep up this enthusiasm for what they do do well as Amsterdam needs more hotels like this.
