Worst Vacation Rental

Hannah's Place is the worst vacation rental that we have stayed. The house stinks, kitchen appliances are rusted and worst of all the bathrooms are filthy. The toilet seat is not even bolted it shake when you sit down..The bathroom is tiny you don't have a place to put your shampoo and soap.

We do NOT recommend this property

I wish we would have read the review that was posted shortly after we booked. It was 100% accurate. Yes we knew the rate, we knew we booked a partial week and we knew the "apartment" was dated. WE were advised no pets on the furniture. We were a bit concerned sitting on the sofas as well as the beds. The place could be fixed up a bit with even thrift store furniture and not stuff that looks like it was picked up off of the curb! Could barely fit in the shower, it was so small. No where to even put soap. The bathroom paint job looks like they painted over dirt. The listing said "includes towels"; as the last reviewer said, his (and our) dog towels are in much better shape. Don't bother to lead one the wrong way with this amenity. The dryer had sand so did not want to use it. We actually left a day and a half early and found an awesome hotel for less $$. The overall condition was pretty poor. The outside was almost as bad. I reached out to the property manager and asked if he would refund the 1 day since we left Saturday and paid till Monday with my word I would not write a negative review. Guess what Radio Silence. Asked for the owners contact info and no response. So this review is compliments of Joel, the property manager!

The house was conveniently located for beach access..also close to stores, restaurants, and groceries.worked very well for a short stay. The kitchen was a bit scant ,so glad we didn't plan on cooking.otherwise we enjoyed our time together and the beach getaway.

Emerald Isle stay

Location was amazing along with the little bits of ocean view. Neighborhood nice. The apartment itself was clean but in need of some fixing up. I am giving 4 stars because when we arrived it was just a bit confusing as to which entry in the apartment was ours so we couldn’t get in right away because we were trying the wrong door. We were fortunate that our neighbor in the apartment arrived back as we were trying their door. They also said they were confused when they first arrived. We also ran out of toilet paper and I feel that should be something that you have ample supply of when paying the price we paid. Our host did get in touch with us in a timely manner when we couldn’t get into the C apartment.

Surprising

The price and draw is the location and they allow dogs. It is directly across the street from the beach entrance. However, there are no other redeeming qualities. It’s extremely outdated which gives a dingy feel. Everything has rust. There are two “in wall” AC units but it was so hot no matter how much we turned it down or closed the bedroom door. The furniture is clearly from a random estate sale. I would have been scared to cook. The shower was extremely small and was either hot or cold. The towels were worse than what we use for our dogs. We couldn’t check in or even park early due to “cleaning” however when we arrived there was dead spiders on the floor. I hate to leave a poor review but quite frankly, I’m a little irritated we paid so much. This property is an excellent example of why people are leaving A*rb*b/Vrbo.

Old outdated furnishings. Kitchen dreadful stove not functional. Would have been dark dismal except for front windows but construction vehicles and people and noise were right outside those windows our whole stay.

Quick Getaway

If you want a small place, close to the beach, and with few frills, this is the place. It provides a convenient place to stay that is affordable. Do not expect to be able to cook full meals as the kitchen is not equipped. You also may want to bring your own bath towels.

Convenience to the beach

Overall Hanna’s place suited our needs for a few days but would highly suggest replacing the electrical outlets thru out the place but for being just minutes from the ocean it was well worth it

Hannah's Place - very disappointing, not up to VRBO standards

July 30-Aug.2, 2023 The only thing positive about Hannah’s Place was its proximity to the beach and its wifi. The apartment was a great disappointment. The kitchen was dirty with rust covered cabinets. A 1950’s style metal refrigerator served as a cabinet with dirty pots, pans, dishes & flatware thrown in (I had to hand wash all dishes & flatware before using). The refrigerator itself had a coat of grease on the top and an old dirty filter. There were only 2 adult forks & 2 water glasses available, and no wine cork screw. The stove is so old & rusted out you couldn’t see how to regulate heat. Only 3 burners worked. The kitchen faucet leaked at the base when fully turned on. Outside was a dirty grill with an empty propane tank. The bathroom water pressure was weak and the toilet drained slowly. We had to plunge it on several occasions. Also the bathroom had only a ½ roll of toilet paper. Additionally, there were no cleaning supplies; not a broom nor a vacuum. The outside light was not working and evidently has been the case since 2020. The walls & flooring (no rugs or carpeting) are so thin we got very little sleep due to the late night/early morning partying with the people upstairs.

Would NOT recommend!!!

I typically don’t leave reviews EVER because I’m not hard to please and don’t require anything fancy and no place is perfect! The location and the fact I could bring my pet were the only two things I can say were good about the accommodations. The shower has no place to put your items, barley accommodates 1 person. I was skeptical to cook in the kitchen as the appliances were not appealing to cook on or in. The electrical was a bit sketchy as the lights in and out dimmed on and off often. A water hose is not a outside “shower”! If I have to pay a large cleaning fee it should be turn key. I do not want to use someone else’s left over shower and hygiene items which have been left from past renters!! We had to get our own batteries for remotes and air fresheners to drown the musty smell. A mattress upgrade would be very fitting for the queen bed, a mattress topper is not an update. It COULD be a nice place IF there were upgrades AND some maintenance done. The property manager was very efficient in helping with a curtain falling situation upon arrival, the location was great and the towns people are very friendly however I would not stay at this location again and I will not recommend it to anyone else.

Great beach stay

It's hard to find dog friendly accommodation's at EI with out renting a whole house, so Hannah's place was a unique find for us as we made our plans very last minute. Super convenient to also be able to book by the day and not by the week. The bedroom and living room had plenty of space for two folks and two medium size dogs. We loved the big picture window with views of the water. Our dogs loved being able to say Hi! to everything that came down ocean drive! Beach access was a 1 minute jaunt across the street. Kitchen and bath are definitely efficiency style, but we were able to make some great meals in there using the top of the washer for extra prep space! The only things we wanted for were an out door shower or rinse station, ( there is a hose, it was fine) and a clothes line for your soggy beach wear. The building manger was a simple text away for any questions. We will definitely be back.

Close to everything

Nice place close to everything in Emerald Isle. Just across the street from beach access, short walk to the best coffee, breakfast and lunch places. The only negative point is that this downstairs unit has a thin ceiling, and if there are kids running around upstairs all day, you're going to hear them. Tip: If that happens, just leave and go to the beach.

Perfect Location

This is definitely a no frills place, but the perfect location. Close to all restaurants and literally across the street from the beach! I would just say that don't be prepared to do a lot of cooking while staying here. The stove is not great, but sandwiches and snacks would definitely be a safe bet.

Just what we needed

The apartment worked very well for what we needed. It was decorated cute and beachy with a comfortable bed. The couch is EXTRA comfy for relaxing with a book or movie after a long day of beach exploring. The property manager, Joel, was wonderful to work with. We will recommend this rental to family and friends looking to visit Emerald Isle.

Run down and in Disrepair

Near the beach. Accommodates 2 but renter beware, much of it is in disrepair. Photos on website don’t show window AC units (bedroom AC was disturbingly loud). Bathroom toilet paper holder and toilet seat broken. Outside light and outside shower did not work. There was more but those are some examples. Both the online management company Evolve Vacation Rental Network and their local subcontractor were not willing to accommodate us elsewhere.
