Best Birthday Weekend in a While!!!

I truly enjoyed my stay over my birthday weekend at the Homewood Suites by Hilton. I had a wonderful experience from the moment I arrived for check in to my last day. Staff was friendly and helpful, the lobby and room were cleaned to perfection of my liking. And everything worked properly in my room so all in all; no complaints and I would return in the future!

Besides a decently comfortable bed and a full size fridge, the room feels very much like a shinier Super 8. The sheets are too small for the bed, they don't even have appropriately sized sheets for the Murphy bed (we asked 4 times), and they expect you to use your towels and trash can for up to five people for two days with no towel hooks or replacement bags (hence the shower curtain rod is sagging). But the worst part for me personally is that I sent a message to the hotel as I have with all others we stayed at requesting to be as close as possible to exits because of disabilities. Not only was that never acknowledged, but they actually put us at literally the very last room on the whole floor. I understand that maybe that's where the room type is that we booked, but I have no way of knowing that prior to booking and it would be nice to be offered a choice or at least warning. To add insult to injury, I was told at the desk if we needed anything to just call the front desk and they would bring it. The next night we tried but were first put on eternal hold and when I finally got through, I couldn't even finish my sentence before being interrupted to say housekeeping was gone and we just have to come down. A lot of what we planned we were unable to do just because it took so much strength to get down that stupid hall. Bottom line: it felt very much like the staff thought they were doing us a favor by letting us stay there.

Hotel is nice and clean. I loved how modern everything was. Our room was okay. Our fridge still had stuff from the previous occupant. There were several ants and urine around our toilet .Other than the issues in the room it was a good stay.

Overall my stay was great. Free breakfast was good with many options. The bar was a nice touch.The furnishings were very stylish and in great condition. Very pretty establishment. I do feel housekeeping can more thorough. When we first arrived in our room, there was debris under the bed water bottles, teeth flossers. We left the items there and when the room was cleaned while we were gone.... the items were still under the bed. In addition to this the floor in the pool area was dirty and needed to be cleaned. Other than this given it being spring break weekend it was a nice, quiet and enjoyable weekend.

I absolutely use to love this hotel and staff.however this time i came my room was dirty, dirty sheets on the let out couch, refrigerator was dirty with old rice and food ,floor not vacuumed...i reported it and was told house keeping was on the way 2 hours later no one ever came which resulted in me cleaning my own room...in addition the swimming pool and area was filthy the jacuzzi look as if it was dirty water with bleach added.and this is the second stay ive noticed this pool not being maintained....i hate to have to find other places to stay simply due to cleanliness but that's what it seem like
