I reserved a smoke free room and was assigned on that cleatly had been smoked in, so that was very frustrating. However, the staff was very friendly.

My fiancée and I took a weekend trip to Chicago for Riot Festival. We planned on staying with some friends, but ended up wanting to get a place of our own, so we booked this last minute. We didn't read reviews prior to booking and a great handful of them were horrible so we got scared. Upon arriving the front desk clerk was very polite and had us in our hotel within 5 minutes of walking trough the doors. The complimentary breakfast buffet was fantastic, don't listen to other reviews. Wide selection of options including cereal, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, oatmeal, and muffins. The attendants at the buffet were very polite and super talkative. Housekeeping staff was just as friendly. Our check out process took under 2 minutes. We would more than likely stay at this hotel again.

Booked this hotel for 2 days on a business trip. In addition to proximity to many businesses, the location is excellent with lots of shopping and restaurants. The standard Holiday Inn Express breakfast fare (pretty wide variety).

very nice and simple hotel. I booked a wrong hotel in wrong place. My office biz was in the AVON building, but my secretary booked way off and too far for me.

This was the most affordable hotel in miles, but a bit far away from town. The breakfast is usually good too. This time not so much. The omelets were cold as in frozen almost on the inside, which was a bit disappointing, but no worries, I will still come back.

I have stayed at this hotel once a month for the last three months and would return again, if I needed to stay in the area.

Booked a room for a Friday night for one night. The room was on the first floor and faced the parking lot. Between the noise of the traffic and the people slamming their car doors it was hard to sleep. Not to mention the people staying at the hotel were loud in the halls and let the doors slam. I think housekeeping started around 8 so that was more noise. So if your a heavy sleeper youll have no problem staying here. Otherwise perfect location. Close to restaurants, shopping and the highway.

Excellent location, clean rooms and friendly staff. pricing was fair. That equals excellent value for a great weekend in the Chicago suburbs.

I had a crummy start to my trip, but the staff and the amenities at this hotel made up for everything. They were kind, accommodating, professional and they bent over backwards to make my stay amazing. It may not have the flash of a diamond resort, but it is still the best hotel experience I have ever had.

This is my 4th stay at Holiday Inn-Downers Grove. The proximity is perfect when visiting relatives in nearby assisted living residence. Shopping right across the road. The price is right, the staff is courteous. We took advantage of the breakfast and the exercise room.

Staff were very pleasant, would do whatever to help you that they could. Nice and cheery. Malls shopping close by.

We checked in a little after 3 but had to wait a few minutes until our room was ready. The lobby had a faint odor of cigarette smell. The hallway on the 3rd floor smelled like someone had overused the room freshener. Our room was clean and everything was stocked. Nice flat screen TV. We had a king size bed. Was in the bed just a few minutes when the bottom fitted sheet slipped and continued all night. The mattress pad was not fitted to the bed and was wadded up in the middle of the bed. My husband and I did not sleep well because of this. The bed was comfortable and would have been great if they would have had linens that fit. The breakfast was good but very busy and tables weren't cleaned when someone finished eating. They need a bigger area for people to eat especially when they are busy. Place in general seems to need some updating. I am usually impressed with Holiday Inn Express - not so much with this one.

Perfect place to spend a few nights. Breakfast is easy & adequate. Great for mainly needing a place to sleep while visiting relatives.

Beds were soft and room was dirty. Maids actually failed to clean it one day.

We enjoyed the room and the location of the Hotel so much that we didn't want to leave to go sight seeing. It was so close to every thing when we wanted to go out to eat or shop. Andrea the desk clerk was so very friendly and so very helpful. She took extra effort and made us a package of all the things to see in downtown Chicago. And places to eat. It was a joy talking with her and her giving us helpful hints. I am sorry I don't remember the mans name who worked the desk who also was helpful and friendly. Can't say enough about your free breakfasts... absolutely fantastic. We really enjoyed it every morning we were there. The Internet was faster then I have at home. The TV was unbelievable. The picture on the TV was out of this world.

Very average hotel, but convenient location and great price

Pleasant and comfortable. A clean close franchise to Chicago.

Friendly, helpful and accomodating staff. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Plenty of very nice restaurants and shopping near by. We will definitely stay there in the future.

employee went out of her way to find me a map of the local area in a restaurant guide

I stayed 1 night at the Holiday Inn Express and it was very nice. I did not get a chance to use the pool or the fitness center but the breakfast was very good, the staff was very friendly, and the room was clean and comfortable. The Location was great as well, right on main road with plenty of dining and shopping options.
