Stay away

Arrived for a special birthday trip for me and my children, only to find a sign on the door when we arrived that the hotel was closed. I had a bungalow reserved and had 3 children and 2 dogs with me, and then had nowhere to stay. Apparently the bank foreclosed on the property and it’s being auctioned. No one contacted me and I still have not got my money back. To same I’m disappointed is an understatement. What an awful experience.

The room was fresh - it still had "frog tape" on 2 fixtures. I didn't like that there wasn't a coffee maker or microwave in the unit. Coffee and a limited menu were available for sale at the onsite cafe (food was very good!). There are several places to eat nearby. The outdoor heated pool was a plus as was the unexpected concert on Saturday night (all quiet by 10PM). Staff was SUPER friendly! It's directly across from Long Sands Beach. We plan to go back!

Nice charming boutique hotel

Cute place, very welcoming check-in, couldn’t have been nicer. Really like the aesthetic in the room - nice details. The tv is beyond me, can’t figure it out and no directions, but that must mean I need to unplug! Very comfortable bedding, dog fee $75 was a surprise but that’s ok. Overall a very nice place across from the beach.

I really want this place to succeed—the design and theme are fantastic—but the execution needs a LOT of work. A. More staff! To keep the cafe open, to buy ANY type of pastries in the am, to supply cups in the rooms, turn on all of the refrigerators before guests arrive. All basic stuff, but you add them up, and it’s a real bummer. On the positive side, the room was clean, cozy. The seal on the door was almost non-existent—so we had a nice ASMR water feature to lull us to sleep. Good luck—I really do hope you make it, because a lot of effort and love obviously went into the place. 🤘🤘

I’ll start out with the positives. The hotel is very close to the ocean. The beds and pillows are very comfortable. The rooms esthetics are simple but nice. I was given room 52 which was the second building to the right of the main building on the second floor. The balcony is nice and although not a direct view of the ocean there is a sitting area in the front of the balcony facing the ocean. It poured my whole stay so that was a bummer. Anyway, the heat did not work and I arrived late so I just went to bed and didn’t notice much because the bedding was warm. The next day it was freezing! I had gone to the front desk and they were going to send maintenance up but that never happened so I messaged the property through Expedia. They sent maintenance up who transferred me to the room next door with heat. He grabbed all the blankets from the old room and threw them on my new bed. Admitting he didn’t know how to make a bed and I don’t blame him one bit for that. I made the bed it was whatever. When I went to check out, I addressed the issues to the manager on duty and he just placed the blame on everyone else including another manager that’s out with cancer. And the woman ahead of me checking out said they didn’t have hot water, that was some excuse followed up by a compliment on her jacket. I expected some sort of reaction or anything other than what I got. Pretty disappointing

We had no WIFI which would have been fine if their TVs weren’t Roku only. It was a rainy weekend and I was fine with settling in the room after supper, but it would have been nice to be able to watch some tv. The first night my husband went over, in the pouring rain, to see what was going on. I tried calling their phone number but had to leave a message. No call back. Stated it was a provider issue and offered a $25 bar credit. Second night WiFi was “fixed” but we kept getting booted from TV and internet! Had similar issue with their sister motel last year. Chose to stay here because it had been renovated. Closet was too tall to reach hangers. Poor design.

The staff was very understanding and accomodating when I explained this to them, but a note of advice to other travelers - the wi-fi is spotty at the moment due to a recent storm, and the hot water takes a long time to kick in b/c it's the off season. Not a deal breaker given the kindness of the staff, but something to keep in mind if you are planning to work from the room. Other than that - quiet, convenient to the highway, and always nice to see the ocean.

Stayed in rm53, this building is dog friendly and was perfect for what we needed. Room was inexpensive, clean, spacious, and comfortable. The room had a wonderful view of the rising sun. The Hotel staff was super friendly and welcoming. Visiting during the off season afforded us the opportunity to enjoy the sound of waves crashing at night and peaceful silence in the morning without the crowd and traffic noise taking away from the experience. We would definitely stay here again.

Not worth the price

We walked into the room. It was blazing hot. Looked around. There was no phone. No microwave. And only one chair that didn’t even look like it would hold much weight. The shower never got hot. Ran the water for almost 10 minutes and still no hot water. The door to the room would not latch shut. I had to deadbolt the door for it to stay shut. Overall would not go back here.
