Clarion Hotel Portland

Nice clean rooms, good location short drive from airport and downtown. Easy check-in and check-out.

It was just ok. We stopped for one night on the way to Bar Harbor. The staff was great. Very nice and helpful. However there was a bad smell in the rooms and it was a bit dirty and outdated. The buffet breakfast cheap but cold and stale . Too far to walk to downtown but only a $6 Uber ride. It was ok for one night but overpriced for what it was.

Ok for short stay. Nothing fancy. Old hotel. Smells mildew in hallways and room. Needs major renovation. Not good sound proof.

Booked a single king, wedding party inadvertently took up all of those rooms though so they upgraded me to a suite. I'll take it... Area was safe, 6 minute drive to basically everything, downtown, wharf stuff, and the airport. Noon check out is a plus. No complaints other than the price, but everything is expensive in Portland during the summer months; and it was half the price of another hotel only a mile away.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Clarion. Wonderful staff especially the maids service.

Decent room, very standard. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. Front desk staff polite and helpful. Restaurant was not great though. Food (chicken tenders and fries) arrived cold enough that 2 of us sent them back, and then they came back to us burned...so no longer cold I guess! Prices were high also. Another in out party ordered nachos and she said they were very good. Our waitress was... not quite focused shall we say? Spacey? We ordered drinks but they never came. We were sitting at a table beside the bar so we asked the bartender about them and she made them and brought them. We asked waitress for check, and again 10 minutes later asked the bartender and she cashed us out. Would stay there again, just wouldn't eat there.

We were in Maine for a wedding on Peaks island and no other hotels had availability. Coming from Boston for just the night, it was the perfect location to crash after the wedding. Rooms were clean and modern. The location to the highway was perfect as well. Great hotel!

This hotel smells in the elevator and hallways and is a bit shabby in each. The room was good.

I stayed just one night to be closer to the airport for an early morning flight. The room was very comfortabel and the shuttle to airport was convienent.

fine stay, quiet, clean, pleasant, convenient, friendly staff

After a day that included a 4am drive through a Rocky Mountain snow/ice storm to the Denver and 2 missed connections I needed a place to stay near the transportation center in Portland, Maine. The Clarion was the perfect location and much to my delight was definitely a great choice. The staff was welcoming and helpful, my room was comfortable, quiet and a great value. I am very pleased with how the day ended!

Room was clean, bed comfortable. Had a drink in the lounge. Bartender had the personality of a brick wall. Ordered nachos. After half hour inquired about how long. Was advised the cook left the first batch in too long so he was making a second. Finally got them. Cheese barely melted and had no taste. Otherwise the stay was good.

I stayed the night so that I could catch an early morning flight the next day. For a quick stay, it was delightful and very comfortable!

Room was clean and hotel was not far from anything. Would recommend.

It was OK and staff very nice --good location for airport food, etc

I stayed here because I had to catch an early bus to Boston. The hotel is right next to the Concord Coach Lines Bus Station. The room was fine. No complaints.

But walls were paper thin and bed was very uncomfortable.

The Clarion is what it is. The hotel is run down, not alot of amenities, and very out dated. I should have hotel tonighted it because there was some good deals the weekend I stayed. Probably wouldn't stay there again.

The hotel is "bare bones"; the rooms are plain, reasonably clean, unatractively decorated, furniture well worn. Restaurant serves a cooked breakfast buffet and this is okay. Waitresses nice, but stay away from dinner: the food is horrible. The elevators are extraordinarily slow and cause long waits.

Rugs were gross shower was too small. Fridge was off and fell apart when turned on. Clothes line fell apart too. Junk place abs could hear everything my neighbors did top and bottom.
