It’s the market. August in Portland, every hotel is expensive. The problem is that the Clarion was pretty doggy materials and decor wise for a price that would get you a nicer room in a bigger city. We were given an accesible room- there was a grungy chair for ADA bathing in the shower stall with moldy tiles. Thankfully, a 1 night stay only on our way to our Maine vacation.

The cleaning products that are used were very strong and left an unpleasant smell. Plus there was a little bit of a mildew smell in the lobby when we first entered.

It’s just ok. The beds should be two queens, the bathroom wasn’t that clean. The shower was uncomfortably small and the shower curtain kept sticking to me.

We had an amazing time. The pool was huge and the staff was very friendly. The shuttle service was awesome, we used it every do to get us to the cruise port and airport.
