Very strange place, checked in, hallways were a mess, the elevator had not been properly cleaned for who knows how long, the advertised "newly renovated" room was not, even the mirror in the bathroom was dirty. The shower fixtures were not installed properly and hanging off the wall, and on and on. Sheets looked clean, we slept and left at 4AM, missed "free breakfast", can't imagine how sanitary that was?? Asked front desk lady in they ever clean, she said they vacuum... And the price was $78. Find someplace else...

We liked the Quality Inn that we stayed in on our way to Florida. Now that we were heading home, we thought we'd try another Quality Inn. This time, we used the hotelcoupons.com deal that we found in oneof the booklets from the rest areas. Let me say that the check in process was fast and friendly, and the hot breakfast was also good. I don't know if it's because it's a room purchased with a discount coupon, but it was a room that was in need of repair or replacements. The towel rack was rusted, the shower faucet had the finish peeled off, the toilet paper holder was coming off the wall. The room was clean otherwise. If we had paid full price, would we have gotten a better room? We slept well, we ate well before going back on the road, and the people were courteous and friendly.

Always looking to try a new CHOICE HOTEL we were very surprised at the service (excellent) and the ease of this on off hotel. Even the breakfast was amazing. The beds are amazing and are new. A must on our next trip .

Stay going and coming back for NC room was clean and the breakfast was very nice plan on staying there on our next trip to North Carolina. The ladies wo were running the front desk were very friendly and helpful. I would suggest this place to other people.

Because our GPS had us exit incorrectly, we stayed at this motel rather than one we had frequented previously. We really liked the location of this motel better. I gave this five stars recognizing that it is a moderately priced motel. It certainly met my criteria of friendly, knowledgable desk staff, clean rooms, and good breakfast. I was especially impressed by the lady in the breakfast area who was constantly replacing items and cleaning tables without being intrusive. She alone deserved 5 stars. There are plenty of restaurants nearby for dinner. We will definitely be using this motel in the future.

The price was fantastic, hands down you can't beat it. They even have an indoor pool. There were plenty of places to eat and a convenience store in walking distance. This was important to me because I was passing through on my motorcycle. After riding all day it was nice to be able to walk to dinner and get supplies. The neighborhood had a shady look to it and I was a little unsure. I stopped here because my front brake on my motorcycle wasn't working and The Black Bear HD dealership was next door. If my brake had not been broken I would not have stopped, but I had been riding all day with no front brake and thought I'll spend the night and have it fixed at the dealership in the morning. There were a ton of hotels to choose from but I used my trip advisor app to see which one had the best reviews for my needs. I only paid 74.00 for the night and I was pleasantly surprised about how nice the room was. It was clean and the bed super cozy. I was a little nervous when the desk clerk suggested I park my bike as close to the front door as possible. I don't like staying at places where I can't see my bike and her suggestion unnerved me. Like I mentioned earlier the place already seemed a bit shady to me. I stayed the night and had a good night sleep, I was relieved to see my bike in the morning and after a cup of coffee I headed to the dealership. The staff was really nice!

Several years ago I traveled significantly for business and our company had a deal on Choice hotels. I stayed in several Comfort Inns, Quality Inns and Clarion over the years. The group as a whole has declined significantly in physical quality over the years, but generally speaking the level of customer service has been quite good. This Quality Inn is right there in the middle of the pack. Driving up, you notice the spalling concrete and bubbling stucco that has been repaired several times. The parking lot is small but ample for the amount of business likely seen at this location. The interior of the lobby was painted not long ago it seems, and on a very tight budget. The sitting area is nice and the breakfast room is plenty roomy for a half dozen families. The pool is quite nice for a Quality Inn as is the whirlpool. All public areas are very clean and the pride in housekeeping is evident. The room is rather small for a modern mid-range hotel, but bigger than the discount lodging chains. The best way to describe it is claustrophobic but not cramped. The room displayed several updates including granite counter top, good-sized flat TV and newer fixtures. Overall, the room was quite clean and the beds were comfortable. The customer service by each person was great, with the added mountain charm of the local community. The check in and check out process was seamless as was the use of all facilities. The coffee was pretty good as were the waffles. The eggs were absolutely horrid - you could even taste the powder from whence they came (no exaggeration). The fruits, packaged food and cereals were standard fare and fresh. Overall, if I had a low enough rate I would stay at this location for a single night again. But I wouldn't want to stay multiple nights; and I would eat at a nearby breakfast joint instead of the free breakfast. I'm not entirely sure I'd recommend this location to anyone unless I knew they could handle a hotel that has seen several hard years of use.

My family and I were a guest at the Quality Inn located at 2015 E. Main Street, Wytheville, VA 24382, on June 10, 2017. We checked in around 7pm. After only being at your hotel for about an 90 minutes, my wife and children were the victim of racial slurs by another guest in the parking of your hotel. I reported the incident to the front desk attendent. She contacted the general manager, James Payne, who instructed her to call the police. The police arrived and took my wife's statement. The perpetrator of the racial slurs had since left the parking lot, but was still checked into the hotel. For the safety of our family, my wife and I decided to find another hotel closer to our final destination. The police officers agreed. However, when I asked for an obvious refund for the night, the general manager, James Payne, refused to grant us one. He informed the front desk attendent via phone that we had already been in the room, and since there was no housekeeper on staff that night, he would be unable to re-book the room to someone else. This made an already emotional situation even worse. We understand that the hotel is not responsible for the actions of their guests, but the lack of empathy, inaction, and poor business practices of the general manager is unacceptable.

I was pleasantly surprised with our stay here. I have never stayed at a Quality Inn before but this one looked nicer than the ones we have driven by before, and we needed to stay overnight in Wytheville, so we took a chance. We had a nice smooth check-in and found our room to be really nice. It was spacious, included a flat-screen TV, fridge, microwave, premium bedding, and a granite countertop in the bathroom area. There was a dual-flush toilet and shower with great water pressure. The only downside is that the hallway we were in-- 4th floor-- had a lot of smoking rooms even though we were in a non-smoking room, so the hallway smelled really strongly of smoke. I thought I was imagining it but heard another couple comment as they came off the elevator that it smelled like a Vegas casino. The good news is that our room did not smell like smoke at all and clearly was a non-smoking room. The only feature of the room that I didn't like was that the room was not on a thermostat, so the room was either chilly, with a/c on, or kind of muggy, with just the fan on, because those were the only cool options on the heating/a/c unit. We enjoyed the continental breakfast and thought there were plenty of choices. When we were there, there was a selection of coffees, juices, and milk, yogurt, a Belgian waffle maker, cooked eggs and sausage, and a selection of breakfast pastries. I do wish the breakfast area was a little bigger because there wasn't much of a seating area, but it was clean and we were able to sit out near the lobby. The pool area was nice and I liked that it had windows that opened to the outside, because it was nice out. The pool was HOT, like bathwater, and the hot tub was so hot that it was not really usable, but the next morning, the temps had gone down in both pools so swimming was much more enjoyable. Overall, I enjoyed our stay here so much that I would definitely stay at another Quality Inn if I knew it would be like this one. We had a nice, easy checkout with another friendly clerk. I'd recommend this hotel to others. We stayed with our two children, 9 and 4, and they enjoyed both the pool and the breakfast as much as any other hotel we've stayed at. The one downside is that there are not many great restaurants nearby-- you're pretty limited. There were a lot of hotels, but not as many restaurants as I would have thought there'd be.

Not what I was expecting - this place was really nice for $80! Very clean, comfy bed, nice pressure in shower. Hotel clerk was very nice. Breakfast was very good! Would definitely stay here again! Easy on and off location. Applebees right down the street.
