The room was generally clean in a "picked-up" sort of way, but the carpet probably hadn't been cleaned in a long time. The HVAC unit in the wall was probably original and the fan was noisy. There was no digital thermostat, just dials to control it, so it was hit/miss getting the temperature correct. The window curtain overhangs the unit so the fan blows up the curtain instead directly into the room Need to hold it back with a shoe or other weight. The curtain itself is old and worn thin in several spots. There is no lightweight curtain in-between it and the window, so you can't have privacy without the room being darkened. There is only 1 small trash can so had to share that between the main room and bathroom. The outlets do not securely hold plugs, do my charging cords were not always charging. The towels were "clean", but were dark with old stains and there were thin spots from probably hundreds of washings. This place needs new linens in a bad way. Wall paper is separating at the seems and is not clean. All-in-all, this is a tired old hotel. The rate for 2 nights (Fri/Sat) was the best I could find in Luverne and I had stayed here before, so I knew what to expect. However, this place needs a complete updating.
