Creekside Cabin Getaway

Looking for a getaway? Come to Creekside Cabin just outside city limits to test out
"Tiny House Living"! All the amenities of home only smaller. This is a great place! Sit by the creek and listen to the water run or cozy up to the "Tiny" wood burning fireplace to get away from it all. We also have a fire pit out front- please bring wood if your wanting to use. This is a 3 level cabin- there is a spiral staircase to get to the 2nd floor which is narrow and maybe challenging for older/ or not so agile folks. The stairs to the 3rd floor are regular stairs and 3rd floor sleeping area has low ceilings that you may not be able to stand up straight. Fun little place to rest your head and if your looking for something different... then this would be the place for you!
Situated right on the Minnesota State Snowmobile trails. Trails also great for walking/4 wheeling/ biking. We do have chickens & a dog on our property. You are not alone on this property we live in the house off to the left of the cabin.

Pets not allowed

Our wi-if can get sketchy at times because of where we are located.

Pleasant cabin, unpleasant owner

There were definitely some pros and cons. I’ll start with the pros … My friend and I had a wonderful time, especially the first day. The cabin was clean with fresh bedding and towels. The location was in the woods but not far from the town with plenty of parks to go to nearby. Although the cabin is adjacent to the main house, we felt like we had some privacy. Now for the cons. On our second full day, the shower head broke when we tried to adjust it. It clearly didn’t break from us and had mineral damage. Regardless, we were forced to pay for this. Which may have even been forgiven if the owner hadn’t been so rude with her language in the messages to us. On this same day at night, we also saw a mouse running around on the first and second floors.Overall, as long as no issues come up in which you have to communicate with the owner, you’ll probably be fine. The cabin is VERY small and narrow and the attic ceiling is lower than it appears in the photos, and you aren’t as secluded as you might think from the photos, but I feel like the price reflects many of these imperfections.

Everything is as promised and we enjoyed the house. Enjoyed talking with Tanya and Jasper and one of the chickens visited us on the balcony. We also enjoyed walking by the creek.It is on the list of properties we want to come back to next year.

Weather was better than good for autumn in Minnesota, lots of trails to walk, only disappointment was the main reason we went down, to check out the Maritime Art Museum, not impressed.

We sincerely enjoyed the "tiny house" feel of the cabin, perfect for a weekend stay for 2 people. Loved being able to see all the wildlife, as well as interact with the chickens and Jasper the dog. Damon and Tanya were so kind and polite and really gave us room to just rest and enjoy the quiet. Amazing fireworks show for the July 4th holiday, even though they were delayed a day due to rain. We really loved sitting on the second story balcony and just listening to the nature sounds! Clean, quiet, comfortable and affordable. Would definitely do this again! It was also very wonderful that their house rules sheet included a listing of things to do in the area - helpful when you're not from there. Easy parking and access, and just the right distance from town that you can enjoy the quiet.

Quirky Little Place

This place was cute. Stairs are a challenge, not for older people or young kids. Wish the TV was located upstairs with the couch or there was an additional TV up there. The ducks and chicken were great to see. The acorns dropping on the metal roof sounded like gun fire! All and all it was a fun experience!

Cozy, but convenient to Winona

Great place to use as a home base for day trips. The communication was great, & the hosts are on the larger property. Be prepared for some coming & going by others that live &/or work on the property. You can be in downtown Winona in 5-10 minutes, the river parks in 15. The state park on the bluff is definitely worth a visit if you like short hikes & views.

Can’t wait to come back!

My partner and I stayed for 2 nights, and we had a great time! The place is near enough to town that it never takes long to get anywhere, but far enough that you can enjoy some peace and quiet. Because it is a smaller cabin, I would suggest keeping the guest count to one additional person. It’s a very cool set up, and was perfect for two of us, but much more beyond that and it can get cramped. But for a party of two, it’s a very cozy place. The owners and their friends were very welcoming, and we look forward to hanging out with them again the next time we book. Thanks again!

Small cabin with all the amenities

My wife and I wanted to get away for a long weekend so we rented this little cabin nestled in the hillside. It has all of the amenities of home, just a much better view. Tanya and Damon are wonderful hosts, and we felt very welcomed. It is only about 5 minutes from town, which was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this spot if you are looking to be close to town, but out in the country a bit.

Peaceful Get-away!

This is a great little cabin in the woods, conveniently located within a few miles of shopping, restaurants, walks along the lakeside, etc. Reasonably priced as well. A great retreat for a sister's weekend away!! The property is very Peaceful. Having the owner's on site was Bonus for us in our accidental lock-out. They are both very responsive and respectful of space. Very happy with our choice of where to stay!
