Nice, but air conditioning was not sufficient as lowest thermostat setting is limited to 68 •

Stayed at Wedmore while dropping our daughter off at William and Mary and decided to do something different. So glad we did! The winery was lovely - wine tour and tasting included in the rate - and the hotel was top notch. The staff was attentive, the food delectable at the café and the room very cozy with all the luxuries. At first we were a little disappointed that there was no in-room fridge, but we never missed it. We would not have changed a thing. We will definitely go back!

I rarely say this but this place was awesome. It's rooms have European themes. The decoration is superb and authentic. The added bonus is the Cafe Provencal for dinner. And the triple bonus is the Williamsburg Winery literally walking distance away with surprisingly some very good wines. And the Tavern for lunch. So if you plan things right you never leave. Plus you can get a massage at the hotel. I'm definitely coming back!

beautiful setting on the WIlliamsburg Winery property. Other than the winery tour there really is not anything to do. they do have very nice spa services and a good restaurant on property. the pool is not heated so time of year will impact use. the fireplace in the rooms is not allowed to be used unless temperature is below 50, which was a bummer. again, very nice stay. great for couples but not really for families.

We enjoyed the romantic environment of the hotel. The staff is extremely friendly and we will be making a trip back very soon.

I'm a bit confused as to who has been reviewing this hotel. My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago and had a horrible experience. We booked this hotel because of the location, being on a vineyard, and the reviews but were both thoroughly disappointed. Below are the pro's and cons: Pros: Location-if you want to stay somewhere that is quiet and in the middle of nowhere, this is an ideal location Cons: The rooms are incredibly stuffy and windows cannot be opened in any room in the entire hotel. -Spiders, huge spiders, all over the hotel and the rooms (We weren't satisfied with our first room and moved to another to find the same issue). -Service: We couldn't find any one who worked there when we needed them. We went to the bar area upon checking in and couldn't find a bartender for a good 15 minutes. The "spa" which is actually a closet sized room with 2 beds, had no one working. There were also several offices with wide open doors and no employees. Finally, room service basically doesn't exist and, if you do want something, good luck getting it. It was just bad. -No cell phone service and our room phone didn't work -Robes and bedding are old, hard, and unpleasant Overall, the experience felt like a bad, scary, smelly movie. This is in no way a 4+ star hotel, in fact, we left the second night and had a much more enjoyable experience at the Holiday Inn Express that we ended up checking into.

Was our second visit. Enjoyed our stay and will recommend it to others. We arrived late, after the time available for complimentary wine but staff provided us the opportunity to have wine anyway. It was a very welcoming and friendly experience.

Fantastic hotel with unique motif of European history. Very comfortable, Room uniquely appointed and cozy. Staff is terrific. Check in quote easy. Food in Cafe Provençal was unbelievably great and dining was a unique pleasure. Co-located with a quaint, functioning winery. Location off the beaten path and a vehicle is a must, but for a unique and an upscale stay quite near Colonial Williamsburg, this place cannot be beat. We will definitely go there again. Cannot say enough about the food in the restaurant Cafe Provençal.

This is a beautiful property. The room was lovely, the staff could not have been nicer. Breakfast was simple but very good. My only complaint: the windows don't open!! It was a beautiful night (low 60's) and because our air conditioner wasn't working, the room got very stuffy and hot.

Amazing place! Beautifully set in a working vineyard & winery, old European architecture with modern features. Had a wonderful stay, the staff is super friendly and helpful. Nice touches everywhere. Wander by the pool and courtyard if you get the chance.

Staff was great. Food was wonderful. We're from MD and found the crab cakes excellent! Plenty of things to do, or not do, around Willliamsburgh. Try to take the more expensive wine tour.

The room was breathtaking, the stay was unforgettable.

This hotel was wonderful. It was so comfortable and cozy. The staff was hit or miss. Some people were amazing, some were a little awkward. I would DEFINITELY stay here again.

The Inn overall is very beautiful. The quality of the materials is high, and the room is nice. We had some trouble with the fireplace, however, as the flue seemed to not suck out all the smoke. Likewise I did not like that the windows do not open anywhere in the room. Also, the choice of television channels is too limited. On the plus side, the bed is extremely comfortable. Shower was strong and toiletries were good. The biggest plus is the restaurant which was first class all the way.

The hotel has a weird rule that no fire if temp over 50 F and has to be after 9 pm. The breakfast is not to the standard of bed and breakfast and only offers same food every day. It is also annoying when hearing the creaking sound from people upstairs.

Celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary here. Vreat experience. Friendly staff. Quiet rooms. We'll be back.

I took my daughter here to celebrate her 40th birthday and we both loved it. The food was excellent, the room warm and cozy and the ambiance perfect. We felt we were back in time with the fireplace in the room and the antique furnishings. We could look out the window at the wine fields and feel as though we were in Italy or France. It was indeed a magical experience!

Not only was the hotel great, the food at the restaurant delicious, and the staff very friendly. I highly recommend this hotel for a weekend getaway.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Wedmore Place for our Anniversary over Labor Day weekend. The property was beautiful, and we were very pleased with our room, the service and the included wine tour. The only thing I would reccommend to people planning to stay here is to call ahead and make sure that both on-site restaurants are open on the days that you would like to go to them. We stayed 2 nights and had planned to go to Cafe Provencal our first night and Gabriel Archer Tavern the second. Unfortunately, Gabriel Archer Tavern was closed for a wedding the second night so we had to get food delivered because Cafe Provencal was fully booked that night. Other than that, this place was wonderful!!

Easy few mile drive south of Williamsburg. Quiet and very nice large rooms. A few dollars more, but worth it to get out of the "standard hotel chain rooms" found in most of the area.
