Room was extremely clean and the staff was helpful and very friendly
It was nice and clean breakfast was good would definitely be back.
We wanted to visit Williamsburg, Jamestown and Yorktown -and this hotel was a good choice for all three, in addition to food. Staff was helpful. Breakfast was average. We were, however, disappointed that the (nice) pool area did not include a jacuzzi.
Convenient location, very clean room, comfortable pull-out sofa, and very friendly staff. We would stay there again for sure!
We were quite happy with our stay. The room was very comfortable for us and our teenaged children. It was great to be in the middle of all the attractions - Colonial Williamsburg, Busch Gardens, and the outlets were all within minutes.
The staff was very nice. The young lady at the front desk was very helpfull, even though she was a cowboys fan. She was cool. The loction is perfect for every thing you need. I would love to come back.
Our room was great - a beautiful suite. It was clean; however, a few details could be checked out such as wiping the bathroom door. We enjoyed the large room and the hotel location was very nice. The breakfast which was included was outstanding - the pancake machine is very cool! The lobby and dining space was beautiful with a large gas log fireplace which was burning when we arrived - a very inviting feature.
Superb customer service, especially during the Christmas season. Would like a little more from the breakfast area, but all in all, was very nice. Will definitely stay at this Holiday Inn again!
We had a wondeful time the evening staff was great but the morning staff was less than courteous.
1. asked for NON SMOKING, and was given a smoking room, desk said that we could change the next day because all non-smoking were taken. btw, booked and PAID for room 4 days prior to getting there. 2. day 2 elevator was not working, at least we were only on the second floor. 3. was sold a microwavable mac and cheese for the kids and was told there was a microwave in room. There was NO MICROWAVE in our room. (day 1) Day 2, in the second room, we did have microwave. 4. Was woken up at midnight by fire alarms, yes, fire alarms, the whole hotel had to go outside while the firemen came and checked every room. Thank goodness, no fire. 5. Breakfast downstairs at 7:30 with my youngest daughter was great! When my other daughter and husband came down at 9:30, close to NOTHING left. btw, the day before, he went down at 10:02 and said, can I just get some juice, and was told NO, it's after 10. My husband looked at his watch and said, it's 10:02. they said, sorry. What I did like: queen size beds and large counter area in bathroom. And also liked the pool. Everything was clean and people working there were VERY NICE. We just didn't have good luck on this trip. but still mad they didn't save MY NONSMOKING room. NOT COOL
We booked this hotel based on the reviews of others. At the time it was rated 4 out of 5. We have stayed in williamsburg several times and usually stay at Kingsmill Resort. This hotel does not compare in any way to Kingsmill. We knew we'd only be in our room on a limited basis, so the hotel seemed to meet our needs, but we were disappointed in the overall condition of the room. PROS: the beds were very comfortable and linens were clean, the staff was friendly, the lobby and breakfast area were very clean, our room slept our family of 6 + 1 infant comfortably, we were allowed to check-in early & there are lots of stores and food nearby. CONS: there was a lot of mildew in the bathroom and the bathroom didnt seem clean (despite the fact that it was recently updated, the room was dirty (when we moved things to make space for bags, it was obvious the room hadnt been properly cleaned), I booked the hotel for the 'suite' to fit my large family, but most of the major hotel chains in Williamsburg offered suites as well and appeared nicer and closer to the action, it was a bit of a distance from the Colonial Area and Busch Gardens (you cant walk to the downtown/colonial area). My recommendation is, there are comparable hotels closer to the Williamsburg action, or ones that offer shuttles to the Colonial Area and Busch Gardens, stay at the Hampton Inn or Kingsmill Resort and Spa or in a hotel that is either walking distance or offers a shuttle.
This hotel is a days inn with a holiday inn exterior. The pictures are very different from what you actually get. The room had one mirror over the sink in the bathroom, no other counter with a mirror so if you are sharing a room with someone, you can't be brushing your teeth or fixing your hair while the other person is in the bathroom. One tiny trashcan in the bathroom, no lotion, just shampoo and conditioner. I purposely booked here because they had an indoor pool, the pool was closed most of the time, and when it did open the water was ice cold. The blanket was dirty, and they had twin size pillows on a king sized bed. I could have paid much less at Days Inn or Motel Six because the experience was the same. Horrible!
Enjoyed our experience in this area. The hotel is located very close to Colonial Williamsburg and The College of William and Mary.
the hotel staff was great; even with our 2:30 am arrival; The only flaw I saw with this hotel is that they rented me a smoking room but didn't provide any ashtrays. This seems strange considering the safety factor. I think it was just an oversight. Got there too late to enjoy the indoor pool, unfortunately.

room was reasonably confortable, the alam clock was filthy thought and the door did not have a retarders so that if you did not hold on to it when it shut it would just slam very loudly. The staff were nice.
The room and hotel were clean, the breakfast was great, staff was friendly. Even though I would rate the room as clean, it was adequate rather than great. All in all, a good and affordable place to stay for a night.

We typically have the opportunity to get away once a year. With a 2 yr old and a 6 yr old we take what we can get! We booked the Holiday Inn Express because it was such a deal on [...]! The hotel appearance was very nice. It appeared clean and well kept. Upon entering our room we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room however there was an unpleasant mildew smell that never left the room. We were extremely disappointed at the quality of the linens. The bed looked very presentable but once the blankets were turned down we found a mattress with a waterproof pad (no realy matress pad) and a sheet as thin as paper (you could actually see the mattress through the sheet). In addition, the toilet would breathe and bubble every time you flushed it and would continue until you shook the handle. On a high note, the breakfast was good, nice and hot, and plenty to choose from. We most likely will not stay here again.
